I came to May Vision in Reedsburg and absolutely love the people there. Always a warm caring place…read more They always seem to have the latest technology for eye care. The only draw back to this is your choices on eyewear is very lacking. I wear rimless and I always have to comeback so Chris has a chance to get some from the Waunakee store. My last visit was very disappointing. Nothing fun. All of them were drab and so expensive. The frames were revised frames from the 50's-60's Black, Browns, or 70's aviator frames. Even the childrens frames were overpriced and drab. Kids are supposed to be cool and fun. Find them cheaper and far less than the designer wear and yes less commissions for you. But people can afford them.

I went to the May Vision Center in the summer of 2017. Because I needed trifocal lens and was…read moreunsure about the outcome, I allowed them to prepare the glasses for me. Including the examine and several missteps on their part, it took SIX trips from my home in Merrimac before I finally get my glasses. I have very good vision insurance, but after my insurance, the glasses cost me over $500. Out of pocket. Not a small some. Within a year, the frame broke. That had never happened before in the (50) years that I have been wearing glasses. When I inquired about getting a two year guarantee for the replacement frames, I was told that no, only the original warrantee was in place. Well, in a recent visit, concerning a continued problem with the nose pads falling off, I mentioned that a corner of one of the lenses was clouding up. The "technician" said that the lenses were delaminating. This after 2 1/2 years of use. I was told that since the lens was outside the two year warranty, they would not replace it. Imagine, after only two years, the provider would not stand behind them. Especially after the small fortune that I paid for those glasses. We all know that Costco would have made those glasses for roughly 1/3 the cost. I won't make that mistake again!!

Well, I was taken back and given the intake exams/screening and was told the doctor would be with me shortly. Last, pursuing the frames was called back for her screening. Then, when she walks out the Doctor immediately called for Yoshi and she's taken back to complete the full eye exam. I'm left waiting when I could have went back and been finalized before she ever commenced. With that, I won't bother utilizing Shopko again. I usually plan for Labor Day weekend and complete all appointments while visiting family as I'm out of state now. Well, I'll just find someone local for 2026. This was wholly inefficient. And, the kicker: per the staff they didn't usually get people to show up on time let alone early. Well, this was the gold star treatment of just sit and wait versus expeditiously moving things along. 223p Yoshi is out. 226p he brings out Yoshi's script. 234p I'm called. To get the most out of this location... You may do best to book any appointment and arrive late to be seen on time or timely. As my scheduled time has passed and I haven't been called back yet by the actual doctor. The progeny exclaimed: Shopko has never taken an hour and this was more than an hour. Ultimately, It could be 2.5 stars since he gave extra samples but I'm good on not returning given How today went.

Today I came in to have my glasses adjusted. Waited about 10 minutes. No problem. The employee…read morecalled me to her desk, and saw my glasses in deed needed adjusting. A few minutes later she came back and said I have some bad news... ok she's kidding with me. Nope she wasn't. She broke my frames in half. During an adjustment? Really? She stated she'd have new frames within the week. I leave on vacation in two days. She then said she'd try to get them there sooner. Ok so now how do I get home? I don't live very far away but I can't see without them much less drive the vehicle I came in. So now what? Nobody offered any advice to me as to what to do next. I then asked the girl at the front desk if I can have the pieces so I can hold one lens up to my eye to see my way home. she said she'd ask. The front desk girl came back to ask if it was ok to tape them together temporarily I said ok. Another twenty minutes go by and no taped glasses. So again I asked the girl at the desk how long it was going to take. The response was "I don't know I don't work back there, but I'll see". The girl at the desk then returned my broken glasses to me taped together with scotch tape. Really? Twenty minutes to stick them together with scotch tape? Did I mention that the girl who broke my glasses never talked to me personally again? Nor did anyone apologize for their actions? I bought this pair of glasses from them, maybe they'll replace the frames they broke, but I will never use this facility again! I'm rating them a 1 because a 0 wasn't available.

More importantly, I question their billing practices. I was advised during my appointment that if insurance didn't pay for their "Funds Photograpy" then I would be billed $39.
