Today I was "helped" by Brett. I was trying to return a hoodie that didn't fit. Everything was pretty procedural at first. Then the hiccup came where the was an issue with the return because he had thought we heavily used the hoodie, which we didn't. The only thing we did was put it on inside the house and set it down on the carpet afterwards. He was lecturing me on the fact that he cannot accept the return due to this cosmetic flaw. I informed him this, to which he replied that he can't resell something that's been worn in the store. I told him that we had been long patrons of the band and how we owned dozens of Oakley sunglasses and never had an issue with returning a product that we tried on and did not like. He finally gave in by saying that I had interrupted him as he was not able to compete his lecture that he be making an exception in this case. At the end I feel that he was over compensating for his lack of knowledge and general awareness of customer service by saving face and acting as if he was planning to let me return the merchandise after all. Next time, I'll stick to shipping my returns back instead of being hassled by a self-righteous, myopic store clerk.

The short version: Easily the best experience I've had…read moregetting glasses in Madison (or anywhere else for that matter). The slightly elaborated version: I've been having a crazy difficult time filling a new progressive script. I've worn progressives since long before I "should" have needed to, so I'm fairly well used to them by now. But sadly, I found no joy getting my new script filled at well-known chain stores, other local optical stores, and through optometrists (and their affiliated clinic) at a local, very major university, all of which shall remain unnamed. Every attempt has led to glasses that deliver a viewing experience akin to surfing in a hurricane. Completely frustrated, I took my script into Olson after learning about their sterling reputation. I ordered and then eagerly picked up my new glasses. Lo and behold, they simply didn't work for me. It seemed I was eternally damned to eyeglass hell. With a certain resignation to my fate, I told Kara (who greeted me when I came in) that I had trouble seeing out of them. Immediately, she became extremely focused on figuring out what was wrong. Throughout all of this, Kara was incredibly nice and professional, and she was the epitome of outstanding customer service. Kara then spoke with Dr. (Angie) Olson, who took me into her office to check my prescription (from another optometrist), answer my questions, examine my other pairs of glasses, and explain why a different brand of lenses (costing nothing extra) were far more appropriate for my specific needs. Dr. Olson was as lovely to interact with and as generous with her time as one could hope for. My new lenses have now been ordered. What can I say? I've been wearing glasses since I was 7 and I've always hated the process of getting new ones. This was the most pleasant experience I've ever had getting glasses. I have no idea how these people are so nice, and this is now the only place I'm going for eyeglasses. P.S. I was just asked if I was paid to write this review. Sorry conspiracy theorists, my experience really was this good but feel free to send me a check.

I've been here before for other "eye care", and have received excellent care. We don't get our glasses here. Their frames are a bit pricey for our taste. If you're into fancy name brands, you'll be happy. But they don't look down on me for taking that business elsewhere, which is nice. The online appointment system is messed up. For one thing, you feel like you're going to grab a time slot, but it really wants you to pick the best 3 slots for you, and they'll get back to you. I did that, but when they got back to me, they didn't have anything for a few weeks after what I had selected. They told me that the online booking system was inaccurate - they should probably just ditch that and put up a phone number (or, better yet, fix it). That all being said, I'll still get my eye care here - but they could improve some things.

The made everything so easy that I decided to come back to check out their selection of wedding dresses. Again, they are both extremely pleasant women to work with. Thru my visits with Maggy and Arlene, it almost feel like we became friends. My mom is hours away and has missed this part of the process with my wedding planning. I always walked away feeling like I got a little "mom love" from those two. I HIGHLY recommend you visit. It oozes the small town charm and the sincere friendliness that made the process quite easy. Thank you ladies from the bottom of my heart!!!

This was my first and last stop for a wedding dress! I decided to skip David's Bridal altogether…read moredue to so many negative reviews, and instead made an appointment with my Mom at Moments to Cherish. I am -so- glad I did. I was so surprised by how quaint and relaxing this salon was. No hurrying or craziness going on, my Mom and I were the only ones there for our early morning appointment. My awesome consultant let my Mom and I actually browse the dresses on our own, which was really nice and a lot of fun. Not only that, but we were also allowed to take photos of the dresses I tried on, which a lot of salons do not permit. They also had a really decent selection of dresses. In the end, even though this was my first appointment, I fell in love with the third dress I tried on and bought it on the spot. I am so excited for my wedding. :) We will be coming back here to pick out my Mom's dress for sure! I am a size 12 and had no problem trying on the sample dresses. In fact, several of their samples are sizes 12 to 16, which is -really- nice. They simply clamp up the dress if it's too big on you so you can see how it will look on you. I had heard beforehand that sample dresses run small, and was worried nothing would fit me. Not so here! UPDATE: They offered to let me buy the sample dress I tried on since it fit me so well, and in return I got a discount on the alterations! Best service ever! Overall I spent less than $1,000 for a gorgeous dress.

I am just beginning to put in perennial gardens around our house and I can guarantee that we will be coming back to these lovely ladies' gardens again and again. The prices are fantastic, the plants are gorgeous and healthy, and I love that you can see everything they sell beautifully displayed in their mature backyard gardens. Knowing that the wide variety of plants are hardy for our weather is also fantastic. Even better than that, this is a business that sprouted from two friends' love of gardening. We first stopped at Karen's gardens, where she sells mostly trees, shrubs, lilies and a variety of flowering plants. After some very helpful discussion about what we were looking for, she helped us decide to go with a couple of white pines and a Thuja Giant Arbor Vitae for screening. I also picked up the first of what will be many of their gorgeous day lilies. She then directed us to Sharon's garden for hostas and ground cover (she also has most of the grasses and some other flowering plants). Sharon walked us around her mature gardens and helped us chose flowering ground cover for a difficult location. We went with two types and we also picked up a Clematis and four types of hosta. They said their inventory had been hit pretty hard after their big sale on the weekend prior. I really look forward to seeing what things look like before that sale, because it seemed to me like they had TONS of plants to choose from. There's really not much more that I can ask for than to buy from local, knowledgeable people doing what they love. If you're at all interested in planting perennials in the Madison area and haven't checked out Gardening Adventures, you're missing out.
