If you're into fancy name brands, you'll be happy. But they don't look down on me for taking that business elsewhere, which is nice. The online appointment system is messed up. For one thing, you feel like you're going to grab a time slot, but it really wants you to pick the best 3 slots for you, and they'll get back to you. I did that, but when they got back to me, they didn't have anything for a few weeks after what I had selected. They told me that the online booking system was inaccurate - they should probably just ditch that and put up a phone number (or, better yet, fix it). That all being said, I'll still get my eye care here - but they could improve some things.

Including the examine and several missteps on their part, it took SIX trips from my home in Merrimac before I finally get my glasses. I have very good vision insurance, but after my insurance, the glasses cost me over $500. Out of pocket. Not a small some. Within a year, the frame broke. That had never happened before in the (50) years that I have been wearing glasses. When I inquired about getting a two year guarantee for the replacement frames, I was told that no, only the original warrantee was in place. Well, in a recent visit, concerning a continued problem with the nose pads falling off, I mentioned that a corner of one of the lenses was clouding up. The "technician" said that the lenses were delaminating. This after 2 1/2 years of use. I was told that since the lens was outside the two year warranty, they would not replace it. Imagine, after only two years, the provider would not stand behind them. Especially after the small fortune that I paid for those glasses. We all know that Costco would have made those glasses for roughly 1/3 the cost. I won't make that mistake again!!

I forgot to call in time on Monday but did on Tuesday. They offered me a cancellation time the next day and took our VSP info over the phone to get that placed. The attendant guided me to which patient forms were needed and I got that covered. We arrived five minutes early and waited while the receptionist assisted the person in front of us. When it was our turn she stood up, said we'll be right with you and was off. I didn't have time to sigh as she really was back within seconds and efficiently took our information. He waited a brief minute or two before he was in the office. As for the waiting room, it was comfortable. There were cushy chairs, a Kuerig set up with quite a few selections I didn't choose from. Down the aisle was a cute play area for kids. I settled in to read an ebook while I waited, in ear shot of the receptionist's desk. The staff was completely professional. When they weren't with a patient they had a couple brief conversations. About their favorite pen that went missing and a trip to another state. I spend far too much time in waiting rooms at appointments and have hear too many "non-professional" conversations. We browsed through a multitude of frames while his eyes were dialating. He tried on some interesting styles, but most frames were brand name. Prices varied between $150-350 range, so shop with insurance here. We ordered his that night and with a two year warranty I deemed it worthy of a few extra dollars for the frame he liked. They estimated a week before coming in, but they were done the next day. Less than 12 hours later. The doctor was very kind, as was the staff. I'm very impressed and will gladly go back.

Exam was standard but I mentioned I needed sunglasses and the doctor gave me very honest advice about the pros and cons of different types of lenses. I also got to learn more about my own retina, which was a cool touch after years of eye exams where I never got to see what it looked like. I was worried my insurance was not still current because I had no current vision insurance card, but I asked before the exam and they were able to look it up and assure me I had coverage. A big relief. Buying frames and lenses was easy. The prices are a bit higher than I would like, but they have great selection and helped me figure out what I was comfortable in, but wouldn't look silly wearing. All around a great experience.

I will save $40-50 dollars/year by ordering online. (Further, I felt Dr. Seddio comes across as an aggressive salesperson and makes me not want to tell her about any eye troubles because I do not want to be aggressively sold things. But this is more a matter of preference. If the doctor had leveled with me and had my wallet's best interest at heart, then they would have earned my loyalty easily).

He refined my prescription, in multiple appointments and trial periods with lenses of various types and power levels. The result was fantastic! He improved my reading ability, correcting my vision to optimal reading levels in each eye. In addition the cost was amazingly small - charging only for the two packages of 12 contac lenses. I should add that the front office service by Greg is expert, professional, timely and reliable. My insurance company does not print new cards each year, and since my card had last year's printed date on it I was almost refused service by the person at the front desk. I had to call my insurance company myself and put them on the phone with the front desk person in order to verify that my insurance was current. It is frankly not the customer's job to verify their insurance, and even the insurance person I called was surprised and mentioned that they have an online system for businesses to verify coverage online. The excuse I was given is that lately they have given eye exams to people who did not have current insurance coverage. As I stated before, this is not my problem as a customer and most other places simply verify coverage themselves before providing services. I would have just left but I made the appointment ahead of time and didn't want to bother rescheduling. I will certainty never come back since I was treated extremely rudely.

I've needed glasses since I was very little, and I think she's the best optometrist I've ever seen. The rest of the staff are great! Deb was so thorough, and billing is very transparent. The physical office itself has a very nice interior, and they have lots of glasses you can try on. I've been to other eye care places in Madison, and this one takes the cake by a long shot.
