I've been going to gyms for almost 30 years so am a discerning consumer. What impressed me about this gym is it's clean, the equipment is new and in excellent shape, the prices are very reasonable, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and they are geared to accommodate everyone---from gym rats to seniors (like me!) to folks who may feel intimidated by stepping into a gym. I had a training session today with Mike. He was outstanding in every sense of the word--knowledgeable, attentive, encouraging - he gives you 100% of his focus. It's a terrific environment to work out in--regardless of your age or fitness level. This is a gym I look forward to visiting and working out at. I think you will too. Plus, parking is super easy (Riverside gym is down the street, but I was put off by it, as the fees are high, parking is tight, entry.exit from the gym parking lot is tough, and the staff frankly were not warm or friendly) Fitness 1440 is giving these folks a run for their money--they are cheaper, less crowded, friendly, helpful, and have excellent machines. Personal Trainer with every workout at no extra cost!--Yeah, you read that right. It is nice to have someone lay it out for you. I don't have to think of diddly squat, I just show up and say 'what up Boss?", and he puts me to work to get my sweat on. It is good to have someone yell at you to keep on going. That way, it isn't just your own voice in your head motivating you. 2. They keep it fresh by mixing up the workouts--I do the same basic warm up stuff, but the tri-set circuits they have me on, they mix it up the exercise combos. It could be lateral hurdle hops-leaping squat rows and medicine ball figure 8's. or something else. something different everyday. 3. No Contracts and no signup fees-- Well first off they give you a week free, but if you want more after that, you just pay your months fee upfront and that is it. You can also pay by the class if you want, but I just did the month. thing. 4. SWEAT! SWEAT! SWEAT!-- I go in for one hour workouts and they keep me moving the whole time, it is go go go, and my shirt is soaked at the end. And it ain't fake hot yoga sweat, it is you are moving and busting ass sweat. It is 5 min warm-up on treadmill, the 7 or so warm up exercises, and then it is tri set circuit after tri set circuit after tri set circuit until my time is up. I sweated 4 lbs from beginning to end last Thursday! :) I would say if you live in the Everett area and want to join a gym to get in shape, this is the place to go

Only thing we would change since we joined- we are super bummed that the gym closes at 4 PM on the weekends. We don't make it in time since we tend to go a little bit later in the day, with other things going on in the morning/afternoons. The hours are also very difficult on Friday as we work until 5pm and the gym closes at 6 PM. We have been quite disappointed in this and haven't been able to use the gym as often as we need, which doesn't justify the cost of the membership ultimately. Hoping this will change soon.

ERA has an incredible Juniors program and a VERY successful Masters team. The club draws rowers…read morefrom across Snohomish County and boasts the only river course around. (ERA produces spectacular coxswains!!) The Snohomish River estuary is FULL of wildlife and there's a three-mile, dog-friendly walking path by the boathouse. The parent community is AMAZING. The Boosters manage an award-winning food trailer at traveling regattas - and I've heard they've got a coffee stand, too! Another neat thing about ERA is that it's full of boomerang-ers (kids who rowed as juniors come back to row as Masters, coaching staff were champion rowers at ERA and in college, etc.) It's the best deal around for a rowing club (1/3 the cost of other clubs in the region) and the community is unparalleled. It truly is a sport for all ages. Last I heard, members range in age from 12-83!!
