My daughter's partner was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and given a prognosis of 6-12 months. He is currently on SSI disability since he can no longer work so his income is very limited, and asked about a free membership, and the answer was a flat no. Just policy over people. For an organization that claims to be community-focused, that response was shocking and unexpected. He is facing overwhelming physical, emotional, and financial stress. Something as simple as access to a supportive, healthy environment could make a meaningful difference--yet the Everett YMCA chose bureaucracy over basic human decency. If this is how you treat people at their most vulnerable, then all the talk about "healthy living," and "social responsibility" is just marketing fluff.

They constantly are changing the pool schedule, so you never know what's going on. They don't update the website and they don't update the pool schedule on the Internet. They're just not organized. The City Of Everett needs to open up the Forest Hill Park pool because there is not enough pool time available at the YMCA for the City Of Everett.

I checked in Evergreen branch and Mill Creek branch in Everett Washington and I was not greeted by the front desk, immediately felt like I was being judged, no eye contact, absolutely no help. I was refused to be let in even after the manager from my home club called and informed them of a duplicate record. They threatened to call the police. I was treated like crap. I left both times crying. I been across the United States and used my black card and never experienced such discrimination? If you are a van dweller you are not welcome. As a guest on my partner's account, I encountered two unacceptable situations that made my visits incredibly distressing. First, about a week ago, I was told by a staff member named Jesse that I could not access the gym facilities while my partner was in the locker room, despite providing my phone number and having no previous issues. I was forced to wait outside in the waiting area for over an hour, which was both inconvenient and humiliating. He claimed that I could be a "thief" while he sat there giggling with the same girl the second incident is about. Today, things got even worse. Due to my disability Severe (OCD), I shower with the curtain open because I am highly afraid of germs. A staff member yelled at me to close the curtain because I was allegedly making one other person uncomfortable. Despite my explanations and the fact that I told her I was finished with my shower, this staff member continued to berate me in front of everyone, causing me to have a panic attack. She yelled over and over " I don't care close the curtain!" It's astonishing that a locker room, where nudity is expected, would have such a rigid and poorly communicated policy. These incidents have left me deeply dissatisfied, UNCOMFORTABLE, and I will never return to this gym. The negative experiences overshadow any positive aspects, and it's clear that the staff at this location need better training on handling sensitive situations and enforcing policies fairly. I see naked women all the time in the actual locker room part of the locker room not showering. Never complained. Never felt uncomfortable. I have never complained before these incidents, however while I'm at it, the shower curtains never get cleaned, there is a shower that has been extremely clogged for over a month, the showers are also not cleaned often or throughly there is always hair in the drain and other nasty substances. My partner says that multiple shower heads in the gentleman's room are missing and there is also always little tiny black worms on the floor, he also stated that he saw a couple (man + woman) In the men's showers apparently showering together, and a tooth brush head on the shower floor that looked like it was covered in what looked like feces. But yeah sure worry about my normal naked body in a public locker room and shower. There is one employee here who has always been super nice and I hate that I do not know his name but he deserves a better job! He explained to me that this is not policy but the damage has been done. The woman NEVER apologized. JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE? YEAH RIGHT. MORE LIKE DISCRIMINATORY ZONE.

One month in to the new Summit Everett so it's time for a review!…read more First off I'd like to say that I am very happy Summit Everett is here and I'll be continuing my membership with them for the foreseeable future. Opening a rock gym in downtown Everett is not an easy venture and it's very cool that it exists. The facility is very nice. It is clean, well lit, in good order and with 24hr access it's got all the right stuff to make a gym attractive. Whether you are climbing or using the regular weights and treadmill its a very good space. Since their move they transitioned to just bouldering from both bouldering and top rope and I think this was a good move. It makes the walls in the gym more accessible to everyone and can introduce more people to climbing. I won't call bouldering an intro to top rope like some folks but it is easier to get into and I think this switch was the right move. So what could be improved? A quick note about me so you can tell where I'm coming from. I'm at Summit for the rock walls and haven't used the weights or tread mills. I'm a climber since I was young and have an ankle handicap since birth. This means I'm about a 5.12-/v5 climber and won't excel too much beyond that. Including Summit Everett I have climbed four gyms in the PNW both bouldering and ropes and those skill levels are pretty consistent. At Summit I cap at a v4, somewhere between their yellow and blue bands. Summit sets hard. This makes it a very difficult place for beginners. The Vermin scale has a lot of wiggle room so it isn't that they aren't setting according to scale it's that within the scale they set about as hard as they can. You will not find a VB route here. If you are coming from anywhere else in the area kick your climbing level down a notch. My experience is that Summit is also largely a test of physical prowess. Technique and problems solving are not as stressed. The routes meet their difficulty level based on whether you have the strength for a dynamic movement, can grip a hold, or have the reach to progress. I have yet to fail to complete a route at because I didn't think through it correctly or didn't have the technique. These challenges are as important to a skilled climber as the raw physical. Lastly, more wall space. The more options to climb the better. The weekly updates are good but more options would be awesome. This is a big ask for the recently reopened gym so I realize this likely isn't something that can be quickly fixed but I wanted to put it out there because I think it would be very beneficial. Overall, I'm very happy that. Summit Everett is here and I'm looking forward to my time there and seeing the gym grow! Thank you Summit!

In 6 months I have seen improvement and find myself doing things that I thought would take me years to learn. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, if you ever have a question they're more than happy to help. I also didn't expect my child to love it. Kids can be fickle when it comes to their interest but after one round of classes my 6 year old is getting over her fear of heights and has more noticeable self confidence when it comes to climbs. Tl:dr Friendly staff, great climbs, fairly inexpensive, and great for families. The bad reviews are not an accurate representation of what we have experienced in the almost 7 months we have been coming to Summit.

We initially looked elsewhere but were turned off by impersonal classes and long-term contracts. Jung Do stood out right away with smaller classes, a junior program for younger kids, and flexible month‑to‑month tuition. After the trial, it was an easy decision to enroll. Master Siwon does an amazing job with the kids; he's upbeat, patient, and great at building confidence. Our youngest was very shy at first, but with his encouragement he's now thriving and has already completed his first belt test. The stude are wonderful too and really add to the supportive environment. Beyond learning taekwondo, the program emphasizes respect, responsibility, and personal growth at home and school, which we've genuinely seen reflected in our kids' behavior. The kids love the goals, rewards, and sense of accomplishment, and talk about earning their black belts someday. Highly recommend Jung Do Taekwondo, they provide excellent instruction and a positive atmosphere!
