Shower icky

Love this gym! The staff is so nice and welcoming, their dogs are the best part! One thing I can't get over is their bathrooms... income before and after work and usually shower or get ready at the gym to save time... but every time I go their toilets are caked with stuff... and their showers always have a ton of hair and sludge on them.. I just never feel clean using their showers

I am a 42 year old pregnant lady I was really looking for something very personable and convenient but mostly I wanted something that felt like my own home gym and this is definitely the place! There is a ton of free weight options here you will never get bored and I love how it set up with the cardio next to the free weight stations spread out throughout the gym instead of all the cardio located in one place and all the free weights thing in one place so then I can do my circuit training routine there is so much camaraderie here a very team oriented feel. I think I found a gym membership I can keep for a lifetime highly recommend trying out superfit they love their business it shows!

Core workout is easier in a group.

Since then, they have followed him up to his new gym! I swung by a couple of Saturdays ago and did a 30 min workout here with the guys. I didn't know what to expect, especially since I have never been to a crossfit gym before. Our workout that morning was more conditioning exercises and I actually enjoyed it! We did the 9 AM workout with Coach Anna. I struggled with push presses and Joel and Anna were there to walk me through the movements when my form was not correct. Thank you! Cody was sore the following days and could barely lift his arms. I was decently sore as well. Meaning it was a great workout and it was only 30 min! Coaches are motivating, know there stuff, and great at critiquing. And importantly, ALL the staff makes you feel like you're part of a family. After trying several different health clubs over the last decade (and even trying personal training), this is the one fitness pursuit that has stuck for me. I look forward to my classes each week and consistently go about 3 times a week. It also kicks. Your. Butt. I've been a runner for many years and am used to burning 300-500 Calories per workout. At Orange Theory, I average closer to 800-1,000 per hour workout. Thanks OTF team at Lynwood!

Lets start with a little context. I'm a 45 year old obese white dude that has a pretty miserable…read morerelationship with physical activity. At best, we tolerate each other. I did a 4 month stint at Super Fit last year (located across the street) a year ago and it really worked well for me, I really started to like being active there. So, after a year break from there, it was time to find activity again. I decided to shop around and give OTF a try, to compare it to Super Fit and see if maybe it would be as fun as some friends and family have said it is (husband raves about it). Everyone working the desk was super friendly and helpful, I had a nice intake session and the facility is new and clean. Then I was introduced to Christian, the instructor for the class. He gave me an orientation to the room. Unfortunately, he didn't actually spend any time on explaining the any of the weight exercises, only the cardio. During the actual class, which had about 10 of us total, he was watching but he seemed to be watching me slightly, I got corrections twice but he managed never to see the fact I couldn't figure out one of the exercises truly. So, by the time I was done with the introductory class, the joint of my right shoulder started hurting and I felt like I didn't get any coaching value at all. I found the loud music irritating and the lighting, while trendy, was dark and made it hard to see the few screens in the facility with the order of activity. I called and gave the front desk feedback on my disappointing session and the fact I felt injured. And to their credit the manager then called me later in the day and really listened to my feedback. So this part of my experience was great and I gave them one extra star to this review. I think OTF may be for folks more fit and more experienced and comfortable with the exercises. And thats too bad, cause I really WANTED to fall in love with this place. But if I'm getting injured and feeling unsupported, its just not gonna be a good fit for me at this point.

The manager Caleb lies through his teeth and will scam you out of your money. Anything for a commission. I had paid for personal training for 3 sessions. Decided to sign up for a few more. Found out that he signed me up for 12 and auto signed me up without my knowledge. I only found out when I got charged 800.00 outta nowhere's. When I called, Caleb said I signed a contract for it, which I never did. He then stated I did, so I asked. Him to show me my signature on a contract. There was no signature from me. He or his employee auto signed my name. He yelled at me on the phone and argued repeatedly with me about this. When I asked for someone over him to discuss this with, he stated it goes no further than him and no one is above him. He refused to refund anything. Long story short there is a general manager/district manager. He's very power controlling or at least tries to be. He doesn't care about his customers at all. All he cares about was his COMMISSION. I never got any of my money back and got stuck with the personal training sessions. Personal training. Don't do. I signed up as I previously stated and they put me a trainer, Gerism. He is rude to no extreme and condescending on top of that. I told him I had an injury and was barely getting back into the gym and some things in the workout hurt the area I injured and that I need to stop. He processed to get mad and call me out on it and gets very annoyed. He told me I have to do it even through my pain and that's there's no other way to do it. He cancelled a session not even 24 hours in advance because he had a date in Tacoma and needed to leave early for it. He further to me about all the woman he is talking to and slept with which is so unacceptable and disgusting. He also informed me that he personal trains at LA fitness and a bunch of other gyms which I found out is against policy. He told me to change my diet, which I did and I gained 10 pounds. I've looked up things after he told me to do them and there completely wrong in every aspect DO NOT LISTEN TO HIM. He also does not give you any plan, or a goal to work towards. The equipment does not get wiped by even the trainers. Employees. Don't fill the cleaning bottles or refill the paper towels. It gets very disgusting. On top of this everytime you go into the bathrooms the smell of urine hits your nose along with the toilet paper all over the bathroom. If there is even any left by the time you get in there plus no one flushes No one monitors the front desk at all and they literally let homeless people go in there. I've been asked while working out for money or the hang out in the locker rooms. When I told management including Caleb about this, I was told again and he told the are aware of it and nothing was done to correct the situation. I've walked in at least 20 times and no one is ever at the front desk to either check to in or help you. Again Caleb said this never happens and the front desk is always manned. I asked him to review his cameras. If someone is at the front desk how does a homeless person he in, much less into the lockers rooms? I have walked into the men's locker and seen some guy who was drying off his private parts with the hand blower, with and a towel around him and the front opened. I reported this to management and was told by Caleb that they were aware of him and would warn him again about this. All through this, the manager Caleb remained argumentative, condescending and treating me like I'm stupid. The equipment never gets fixed, or takes weeks to be fixed. How can you work out with broken equipment? WHATEVER YOU DO. DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM. IT IS THE WORSE 24 HOUR FITNESS, I HAVE BEEN TOO. Try another location for sure and I'm sure you'll be happier.

I absolutely love this gym and the coaches…read more Been going here for the last 3-4 months. I was lucky enough to be introduced to the place when I was in a 28 day rehab for alcohol (yes, you read that right) this past May 2019. The treatment facility I was housed at took us to the gym 3 days a week, and I can't begin to tell you how excited I was the first day our alcoholic/drug addict group went to Industrious. If anyone needs exercise it is definitely someone who has been high or drunk most of the last few years of their life! When I found out it was a CrossFit gym I was beyond stoked. Pullup bars, chalk, a big open floor, gymnastics rings (haven't touched them in years), barbells, those damn assault bikes (I hate those things, ha!)... I was so happy! I'll never forget the first couple times I went in there with my treatment group, I got to meet the owner, Stephen, and some of their coaches: Austin, Crissy (best smile ever), Erik, Kaybree, and Faith. They are just the nicest people around. And guess what? They are super athletic, no joke. Just watch them workout during open gym. They definitely walk the walk, they don't blow smoke up your ass, and I love that. They are nothing short of amazing humans. My exercise background should be mentioned: I have been a member at 24 Hr Fitness (and other commercial gyms) for years (which by the way, they've installed pullup/squat rigs & lifting platforms and using olympic barbell plates... trying to copy the CF formula..?? Hmm), and mostly did calisthenics exercises with some barbell squats and deadlifts thrown in for fun. I have always enjoyed exercise, it made me feel good. I never ever thought of going to the gym as a burden (unless I was hungover), it was the highlight of my day. I did some CF a few years back, super inconsistently... like 1 time a month??? Does that even count?? I had some idea of what CF was like, but forgot how much work it takes to actually be good at it. I've gotten so damn lazy over the last few years, I needed someone to kick my ass and this was just the ticket. For a more seasoned CrossFitter, I bet you'll like this gym too. They also make sure you don't so something stupid and injure yourself! They are very much in tune with every athlete's limitations (anatomical, injury, etc.). Austin & Kaybree in particular have been helping me figure out barbell skills for the last couple months. They have been so patient and helpful. I'm learning something every day, even if it means I'm not adding weight to the bar. I got to meet Erik and Faith a few times when I was in treatment and I told them how I wanted to learn to handstand walk. They were immediately helpful and demonstrated (show offs!) their mad skills. So cool. How many other gyms do you have your coaches walking on their hands like it's no big deal!!??! Anyway, as part of my exit plan from treatment I vowed to sign up ASAP. The next day I went in and did a 6 months paid-in-full (shoulda just did the year). Best thing I have done for myself in years. Let me explain! I came from a very dark time in my life. The last few years I have been battling depression, anxiety, and alcohol abuse. I literally fell apart and lost motivation to do things I used to really enjoy... like EXERCISE! These boys and girls give me something to look forward to, something to improve on, something to share, something to be proud of. And that's feeling healthy and accomplished. Even if I struggle to complete a workout or can't do a movement or lift (believe me, there are TONS of things I have issues with), I still feel like I did something positive and got a little better and learned something that day. We don't become awesome in a day, right? The other thing I want to add is that I used to really dislike group exercise. I'm kind of a loner, really. But this place has completely changed that. I love being around the other athletes and coaches. It is super motivating and there is tons of good energy. And lots to get motivated about!! When you see someone nail a big lift or skill, I think, "shit, I want to do that!!!" I never got that feeling at a commercial gym. Too many people mirin' and flexing their biceps and buttcheeks and taking selfies! Ha! I'll close by saying that I am very grateful to have found Industrious. You guys really have changed my life and I feel like a functional, healthy human being. Performing constantly varied movements at high intensity! And then passing out in a pool of sweat! :-) -Mike Palmer

Variety of equipment is sufficient in my opinion but then again, I do not use a lot of the equipment, so my judgement may not be accurate. 5. In general, folks using the gym are well mannered and mind their own business. I have never personally had or witnessed any conflict. Couple of things that could be better - 1. More training mats. There are a limited number of mats and sometimes hard to find and the ones they have are extremely dirty and torn. They must be replaced asap. Carry your own yoga mat if you can. 2.
