Sunday night Wookaraoke is really great!!! Woo is very talented in orchestrating a lineup of singers!! The bartender, Afton, is one of the best singers, she is amazing, and she makes great drinks!!! I am impressed.

Tried this place out 2 nights in a row. First night went up to bar and bartender said have a seat the waitress will be with you. 20 mins of sitting and no service in a dead bar. Live music was a solo guitarist, environment was relaxed. We left after getting no service. Returned on Friday night for karaoke time, bartender said same thing, sit down and waitress will serve you. We got a drink order in for our party of 4 but she seamed upset we didn't order food. After about 45 mins of singing and empty drinks we looked around for service, no bartender or waitress in view. Sang some more songs, seen the waitress and tried to flag her down with no luck. Bar was not busy, maybe 12 people total with our group of 4. After about 15 more minutes of waiting the waitress finally came out and we just closed out. Atmosphere was great, service was slow and undependable.

Awesome view! Tucked away in the Sherraton of La Jolla is this cool lobby bar with small bites. Live music most nights of the week, a wide variety of spirits to choose from.everything from high end to inexpensive. Pricing is really inexpensive as well. Swing by for indoor or outdoor seating and a cocktail or two.

What more can you ask for in a hotel bar.... Nice, intimate bar with amazing staff and the option of karaoke with a piano band (on select nights).... Perfection! Being able to come straight from your room to something like this is a great offering from the hotel! If it's a nice night (it's SoCal soooo the odds are in your favor) take advantage of the outside seating! Cheers!!!!

Been here several times and it's a chill and kick back kind of vibe. It's the live music that I really enjoy, especially on Wednesday nights. From 7pm-11pm, you have the very talented duo of David on piano and John on saxophone. Other guests get in on the little jam session as well. Food is good and reasonably priced. Service is good too. Happy hour menu is a bargain with food and drink specials. Located on the lobby level of The Sheraton.

Karaoke and cocktails... Dont worry, im just gettjng my drink to go.

nice little bar/lounge with Karaoke on the sunday night we were here. drink prices are not too shabby considering it's a hotel bar. there is an outdoor patio seating area to enjoy a beverage and awesome weather. the lounge inside is very cozy. servers/bartenders were very friendly. even the dude that said that my 4yo daughter couldn't sit AT the bar while i waited to pick up my to go drinks for me and mama. it's ok. my daughter didn't mind watching the singers from knee level. music is for the ears and not the eyes anyway. :) oh, and found out the day we were leaving, but, you can use the house phone at the pool to order drinks! bam!

The old Shooters is gone. Remodeled out of existence. Now it is an ordinary restaurant inside the hotel.

We called to add a couple extra people, and then those people didn't show; they rolled with the punches. The table was set when we got there. Service throughout was friendly, prompt, over and above. Ambiance was great, in a very important way: There was nice music, but you could hear yourself think! Nobody had to repeat themselves a million times. Perfect sound level for a group our size. But the food was the absolute star of the show. Literally everything was perfect. For shareable appetizers, we got both the trio and the mezze plate. It was basically hummus flights, with pita triangles and multicolored carrots. All the hummus types were delicious. But a special shout-out to the truffle hummus--it was divine. It was very truffle-y, but it was also very light and creamy. Somehow that's not a combo I expected. Next, I'm already a falafel fan, but good *Lord* their falafel was unreal. Some kind of perfect crispiness on the outside and soft flakiness inside that I've never experienced before in falafel. I asked the server what he'd recommend, and he said beef kebab. I got the beef kebab. He was not wrong. The meat itself was sumptuous. And I just moved from Texas, where every other backyard BBQ has someone smoking their brisket for 18 hours. This was the kind of cook where even the marbling melts in your mouth. Even the carrots were good, I don't know what to tell ya. 10/10.

The obvious lots on either side are reserved for other businesses. Staff were very friendly - the perfect balance between helpful and leaving us alone. The only food complaint was the wings appetizer was a bit boring. Porkchop and cauliflower were cooked perfectly. Margaritas were good. Creme brulee dessert was perfect size for 2. I don't go to PB often and there's lots in this area but I'd consider going again. I got their Patient Pisco Sour while my partner got the Pomegranate Mojito. The Pisco Sour definitely packed a punch! Quite strong, yet rich and palatable. The real star, however, was surprisingly the Pomegranate Mojito. Pomegranate happens to be one of my favorite fruits, and it's quite rare to find anything pomegranate flavored, let alone a drink! Tart and refreshing, this might just be my new go-to drinky drink.

The place was lively, but luck was on our side: one perfect booth remained for the four of us sweet seekers. We settled in and immediately starting gabbing (versus checking out the menu). George came over to take our order. Without even glancing at the dessert menu (a bold move, I'll admit), I asked for one of each dessert to share--paired, of course, with a couple glasses of Scarpetta Rosé bubbles (okay so I glanced at te wine menu). Priorities . What arrived was equal parts surprise and delight. First, a charming little glass jar filled with lightly whipped crème fraîche and topped with salted caramel--simple, elegant, and absolutely delicious. And then... the "hamburger." Cue the table going completely silent. Naturally, we had questions. Our server walked us through this masterpiece from the bottom up: a golden caramel cake "bun," topped with a chocolate-coated ice cream "patty," a delicate mango gelée "cheese," and even "pickles" made from matcha cake. Finished with a second warm cake layer and a touch of garnish we were too excited to fully catch--because at that point, we were already diving in. The contrast of warm cake, cool ice cream, and rich chocolate was nothing short of fantastic. Playful, unexpected, and genuinely delicious--exactly the kind of dessert experience you hope to stumble upon. Thank you, The Whaling Bar, for the sweet surprises. We'll absolutely be back--next time for martinis, and I've already been told the duck meatballs are not to be missed.
