We were seated promptly (we had a reso though) at a nicely shaded table were we could enjoy the beautiful midday weather. Our server, a super friendly guy, was attentive and accommodating. We ordered two breakfast burritos and the coast which was scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes and a slice of the yummy brioche style French toast. We had a couple cappuccinos and our friend had a bloody Mary, we all commented that it was quite delicious! Will definitely return next time. We are in La Jolla/Bird Rock.

Beaumont's has an amazing happy hour (even on the weekends). $7 cocktails, $5 beers and tons of delicious food to choose from without breaking the bank. I had the orange sangria which was very refreshing for a summer afternoon. The lettuce wraps and wings were a hit. I absolutely loved sitting outside on a beautiful day in bird rock. We truly live in paradise.

Really loved their happy hour drinks and chips and guac. Def will be back here, their passion fruit margarita was so good! Service was really excellent too

Came here for a date nite Friday night with my husband and another couple. We had a 7pm reservation. Took them a little bit to seat us since we wanted to sit inside. Good atmosphere. Service was fine. Food was good not great. Very small portions. We ordered 5 appetizers to share. Sweet heat Brussels, beef Barbacoa empanadas, Thai meatballs and the carnitas lettuce wraps. 3 meatballs in an order! $18 and $19 each. Crazy. They were a little dry but the Thai sauce was good. We each ordered 2 rounds of cocktails then shared two entrees. The crispy salmon ($36) and the chicken curry bowl. Entertainment started at 9pm. Band was good. Our bill was almost $278!!! Yikes.

A friend and I can after a workout for breakfast, it was okay. We got the breakfast tacos, kind of just picked at them. The potatoes were good. I had a good Bloody Mary. Service was good and attentive. I liked sitting outside on a beautiful day.

My improv team (Deep Dish which performs Fridays, 8pm at Finest City Improv) didn't want to rehearse this month. They wanted to brunch and I didn't want to be a stick in the mud so we traveled to Beaumont's on a Saturday. Traffic will be bad so just leave your place early and you should be able to find street parking on some of the surface streets. I did on Dolphin around 10am. Had mimosas (pineapple is a popular choice) and they offer bottomless mimosas for $25 till 3pm on the weekends. No one wanted to get drunk so I just ordered one which is probably for the best because I was just laid off(damn you A.I. and reason why I wanted to get blasted...). The highlight that the table was raving about was the Coast Toast. Looked fluffy and heavenly. I ordered The "basic" because I'm allergic to dairy. This basic b!tch thought it was enjoyable. Flavorful potatoes and crispy bacon with some eggs that have runny yolk. "Yes, and" I would like some more please. When the group was ready to edit the brunch to start different scenes in their lives, our waitress was nice enough to split our bill up 5 ways which is the lord's work. Would definitely make a reservation so you can soak up the sun in the patio out front. "AND SCENE "

Beaumonts is a nice little neighborhood spot that is much needed in bird rock. The service is always on point, and one of its strengths. The food is good not great, but the miso ricotta is true showstopper. Definitely a great option for groups in bird rock.

    Best shrimp tacos!

Beaumonts has become our go-to spot since moving to Bird Rock. Whether it's for a bite to eat, delicious spicy margaritas, or live music, it's without a doubt my favorite restaurant in San Diego. The food is always so good, the chef is consistently updating the menu and testing out new things. Their new rotisserie chicken menu is BOMB . Aside from that, the service and accommodations are always top notch. Somehow Kris (best manager ever) always finds a way to get us a table, and has our order taken within seconds of us sitting down. We always feel like family at Beaumonts.

I went here for happy hour! Great outdoor patio that allows dogs. Drinks and food were good. I want to go back here for actual burgers which looked great. We ordered off the happy hour menu and it wasn't our favorite. Things I liked: - the empanadas - carnitas lettuce wraps

Everyone really enjoyed their dishes! It being a bar, we weren't expecting much, but everything we tried on the menu was delicious-- especially the braised short rib, truffle fries, and the variety of pasta dishes they offer. Some pasta dishes came with bread, some did not, so some had to share their breads since it is not clarified which pasta dishes offered bread or did not. Drinks were honestly a hit or miss. We absolutely loved some drinks while others were watered down or just not great. We really enjoyed the Paloma, Coconut Mojito, and even the lychee mocktail was a hit. As the night went on, the bar got really full to where we were sitting with groups of people with their backs to the back of our chairs. It got very busy, we had to physically go find our waitress to get our credit card back as it had been 15 minutes since she had taken it. The wait staff though was so friendly and attentive before the bar got completely packed. We would come back here for the next Bachelorette trip as it was a young crowd, other bach parties were there, and overall a fun atmosphere for a night out!

We went right after they opened on a Friday at noon. At first, we were the only people there, by the end of the time there were a few other tables, but I was surprised that it was a mixed age crowd. We ordered a mix of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks for the table and everybody enjoyed them. The place is beautiful, the decor is a lot of fun. We had Bree as our server and she was great. It was a group of my girlfriends from work for a little Galentine's celebration and we decided to go for a bunch of appetizers to share. The mushroom pizza is fabulous!!! Best pizza I have had in a long time. The crust is sourdough and they used Taleggio cheese and top it with some truffle oil. They got the crust just right, it was so crispy and delicious and it came out piping hot. The papas bravado were my second favorite thing on the table. They did a great job with those tasty little potatoes and that savory aïoli. The tuna stack was another stand out. It kind of was basic until I tried the little citrus oil that it came with, and that really made it pop. I really enjoyed the pear and burrata salad. The pears were grilled just right and it came with a delicious crispy bread and was piled high with arugula and prosciutto. Great job on that dish! We got a charcuterie board that was loaded with goodies, including one of my favorite cheese is the Humboldt Fog. It was not very well balanced though. It really needed something sweet in addition to the mustard to balance the flavors. Maybe like a fig jam or some honey. A couple of grapes or some dried fruit would've been good too. The calamari was the only thing that was not good. It was horrible. It was basically regretting with a tiny little bit of they squid in it. We are savages and we did not finish that dish or take it home. I would return to this establishment and I'm curious about the brunch. I would not be visiting at night because I'm sure that it's more crowded than I am interested in. Thanks for surprising me Flamingo Deck!

As I understand it, Moray's is the outside/patio dining portion, while Oceana is the indoor fine-dining situation. I believe they pretty much have very similar menus, with Oceana having some additional high-end offerings. Came out to Moray's to visit my cousin who was in town for work. Since my cousin now has her most adorable infant, she wanted to keep it simple and dine at the hotel restaurant, which was fine by me. While I waited for them to come down from their room, I got us a patio table and ordered a delicious $10 draft. Mixed drinks were all hovering around $19 each. The server was friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which I greatly appreciated. I went with the reasonably priced Steak Frites, $36, which was to stated to come with Muenster cheese and caramelized onions on top, and served with a side chimichurri. While the steak was wonderfully cooked to a solid med. rare as requested, it seemingly had very little flavor. Perhaps had it not been covered with a wealth of some DEEPLY caramelized onions and an abundance of Muenster cheese, I might have been able to taste the seasonings and/or the beef. While I love some deeply caramelized onions on a salt-laden burger, the extent to which these were caramelized left them seeming soggy and too sweet for the steak pairing. Add in the several slices of melted Muenster cheese on top, and flavourwise I could hardly tell I was eating a steak. Ultimately, the abundance of toppings overwhelmed the steak. The accompanying chimichurri was also a little strange. While I appreciate that it was diced and not blended, it was very heavy on the oil, while very light on the herbs. The frites were nicely salted and good on their own, however a decent amount became soggy from being under the steak. The burger on the other hand looked excellent. My cousin devoured his in what seemed like a split second. I could have went for the burger, however at $27 I perceived the $36 steak frites to be of a better value. Again, shout out to our server. They were on-point! Thanks Moray's!

Amazing fries, but the burger itself was surprisingly bland--even with grilled onions and cheese. For $26-$28, the "Wagyu" label felt more like marketing than magic. I've honestly had more flavorful burgers at In-N-Out (animal style), which isn't a great look for a high-end burger. On the bright side, my wife's risotto was excellent--easy 10/10. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the risotto was rich and flavorful, and even the waitress said it's one of her favorite dishes (advice I should've taken). Parking is free for up to 30 minutes in the shared lot. After that duration, you need to pay at one of the available kiosks. Since these were the early days of The Playground, there were operational kinks that need to be smoothed out. First were the unusual business hours (e.g. 9 am to 9 pm on Thursday and Friday, only 7 pm to 9 pm on Sunday, etc). My initial attempt to visit occurred after work on a weekday. Despite the supposed closing time of 11 pm, the doors were locked at 5:30 pm. Second was the lack of prices on the menus. That is a cardinal sin in my book because if you are open to the public, then you owe it to the customers to disclose the costs. The first item for my to-go order was a snack size serving (six pieces) of Chicken Wings. I picked Bonnie's Barbeque for a sauce that featured a sweet and smokey flavor. The wings were coated with the sauce and not deep fried which made them a bit healthier. The second item was a Birria Quesadilla that came with consome on the side. A flour tortilla was filled with cheese, marinated shredded beef, cilantro, and onion. It was then sliced into smaller triangular pieces and then separated by aluminum foil in a takeout box. The consome had moderate richness while the cheesy, beefy tortilla was filling. I didn't understand the meaning of the new moniker as the interior setup had not been modified. It certainly did not have the ambiance of a playground. My first impression of this place was a three star rating with multiple areas of needed improvement including signage on the marquee. If one is driving down Mission Blvd, then there is no way to notice from the roadside that The Playground even exists.

I ordered the Birria Crunch Wrap, and halfway through eating, I discovered a long strand of hair buried in the food. Not just on top in the food. It was clearly cooked into the dish, which tells me that basic hygiene in the kitchen is completely lacking. When I pointed it out to the server, she barely apologized and offered to remake it, as if that would magically erase the thought of chewing through someone else's hair. No manager came to speak to us, no discount, no sense of urgency or genuine concern. The rest of the food wasn't memorable either--bland, lukewarm, and overpriced for the quality. But honestly, after the hair incident, I couldn't bring myself to take another bite. If you value cleanliness and basic health standards, avoid this place. There are plenty of other restaurants that know how to wear a hairnet.
