I had a pair of vintage boots that I wore the heck out of and had sitting in my closet for nearly two years because I didn't want to part with them, but there was hope! Shoe Stop beautifully replaced the whole bottom sole and its now so sturdy and thick, that I've barely scuffed them....I usually tear my shoes up pretty quick. Sooo happy with the work that was done. I definately recommend them and will be heading over with plenty more poor, sad, worn out shoes. read more

Brought in one shoe of a new $45 pair of sandals to have a cross strap lengthened with elastic, over a bunion. Quote for work was $45. When I declined quote, he said $30. I agreed, and tried on the shoe to show him how much to lengthen. I believe he purposely made the extension less than he saw was needed, so he could charge me to lengthen it more at my return, when the new length was not enough. At my return he charged another $10 to make the extension adequate. So, he found a way to get $40 out of me for work on one shoe when I declined the original offer of $45. In the Mall I don't doubt his rent is huge. However, this vendor is not a professional. You do not charge a customer to fix your error. read more

I had a pair of boots I took to them because the seem was coming apart. I took the boots home after the first repair and they came apart. Took them back and it took 3 weeks to fix this time. They re-sewed the stiches in the bottom of the sole which wasn't there before and now the shoes look horrible. Something told me not to go there, should have follow my first mind and sent the back to there maker. Will never go back there would not recommend and will be fighting for a refund read more

I brought in my Birkenstock sandals Oct 3 because I fell & broke the cork bed and they were listed as an authorized repair center. Rudy looked at it and told me he could repair it or, for a little more money, replace the bed. I chose to do that. He promised them in 2 days, but when I came back 5 days later they were not ready! I picked them up the next week & then went on vacation. They broke in exactly the same spot! They had NOT replaced the cork! When I went back to complain, he tried to blame his "guy" who "didn't understand what should have been done. He then tried to tell me Birkenstock no longer made the cork beds! When I argued, he called, found a cork bed, and ordered it. He said it would be 1-2 weeks. (WHY would it have been 2 days before? Obviously, he never intended to replace the cork bed, only charge me for it and then just patch it!) I picked up the shoes today, November 7 & the workmanship is poor: glue is lumpy and uneven, there is a big gouge in the leather which they covered with polish which is also all over the cork bed! I will NEVER go back here, and neither should you! THEY LIE AND CHEAT!!! BEWARE! read more

Brought my old, loved and used Steve Madden boots here tonight very last minute. Last minute as in I called around 8 PM to ask if I could bring them in for a a heel repair; they close at 9 PM. The guy was very nice and told me to bring them in right away. I took them in, he looked them over and said they also needed the soles replaced. Now, I don't know anything about shoes and have never been to a shoe repair shop before, but I was definitely a little wary of letting these guys tear my boots apart. I agreed in the end and the guy was nice enough to do the fix in thirty minutes so I wouldn't have to come back the next day to pick them up! He charged me $45 for a heel repair, leather fix (the leather on the back of the heel was peeling off), polish AND complete sole replacement. When I walked back in 30 minutes later, I literally gasped at how amazing my boots looked. I wished immediately I had taken a before and after picture - they look brand spankin' new. I will never go anywhere else!!! SO happy with this place. Thank you guys so much!! :) read more

A bit pricey but they do a fantastic job! Almost threw out my favorite pair of Marc Fisher boots before deciding to try and have them saved. Shoe Stop resoled, polished and weather-proofed, and put in a new insole for $85. Like I said, pricey, but these are my favorite shoes and to buy them new would have been another $300. If you want to seriously overpay to have a zipper repaired, then this is the place for you. $35 is an incredibly INSANE amount of money to pay for this type of service. Not to mention, the zipper I had repaired wasn't even full length. I won't be surprised if this place doesn't last much longer. I'll never come here again! read more

I took 3 pairs of sandles to this store for repair. First pair needed a sole since they got slippery, the 2nd pair, one of the strap came loose needed to be glued back in, the 3rd pair only one of the sandle has a tiny thread knot that made my toe hurt. The guy said these were a lot of work and wanted to charge me $65, we finally settled for $50 in cash to be paid up front. Three hours later I went back, the one with the sole job looked ok. The one needed glue was very sloppy job, my 10 year old daughter could do better than that. The one with tiny thread knot, nothing was done and the guy took it back, a minute later he came out and I felt it was gone so I left and only found out when I got home that he basically just cut off that thread knot and the thread could loose at anytime. I will never go back to that store, they charged too much and the work was poor. read more

Very good work and fair pricing for the speedy fix. I had to get my daughters shoe strap fixed and it ended up better than expected.

Is it possible to rate this place -1 star. I agree the owner or the gentleman behind the counter is very friendly and accommodating. Not only did I clutch my pearls, I had to clutch my purse. I felt like I was being mugged the first 2 mins after walking into the store. I referred him to my husband and he asked me to take his shoes to be stretched. The shoes weren't the only thing being stretch, so was my wallet. After 3 mins the man gave me a price of $90 for 2 pair of shoes and conditioner. I told him that was more than the price of the shoe purchased on sale. Every min while I was there he lowered the price by $10, I felt like I was at an auction, finally I accepted $50 charge for conditioner and shoe stretch. He told me that he is nothing like the other places around town, he has a "machine" that stretches the shoes that is better than the typical shoe stretcher. He told me it would take 3 days to stretch a shoe. That was clue #1, that's how long it takes to stretch a shoe with a "shoe stretcher".....hmmmm. My husband went to pick up his shoe on the 4th day and the shoe was still tight, so the man put the "shoe stretcher" back in the shoe. But before my husband left, he told him how great the quality of the shoe was and that he needs taps for $40, I assume it's $10 per shoe. So he got us for $90!!!! I wanted to drive up to the store and tell him how conniving he was but what better way to pay$$ him back than to YELP him! read more

They have definitely gone downhill. After going here for the last 3 years, they have damaged 2 pairs of expensive boots. After bringing my boots to a different business to have them fix what shoe stop did, I was told shoe stop is using really bad chemicals on my boots which is damaging the leather. I have noticed shoe stop uses certain products which ultimately leave me coming back often at $30 a trip. For example, the spit shine they are able to do on the boots looks nice but after a few weeks, it starts cracking. I am unable to fix this and have to bring the boots back resulting in them charging me to strip everything off and reapply the spit shine which gets expensive after a few months. I dropped off my latest boots (brand new out of the box) to have them apply leather luster which is an alternative to spit shine that lasts much longer. They told me it was $60 to strip off the factory coating and to apply the leather luster. I picked up the boots today and they look like they were shined with a snickers bar. Whatever they put on was definitely not leather luster (as leather luster leaves a nice smooth polish that is very shiney and what I picked up today was anything but) plus they damaged some of the threading on the boot. This will be my last trip to this store. read more
