I went in with a mission of finding some brown sandals because mostly everything I own is black. I left with a pair of white Teva and a pair of casual brown sandals. That's a win for me! Okay, now about the store. I was greeted upon entering which many stores don't do. The store was well stocked and neatly kept. A salesperson came over to ask if I needed any assistance which I did not at the time. My purchase went smoothly and the cashier explained their reward system of earning points with every purchase. It was quick and and easy to sign up. I was pleasantly surprised to find that one pair of shoes had an additional discount. Double win!!

I'm not sure if any additional sizes are in the back. With women's, men's, and kids shoes, the whole family can shop here. I bought a pair of Roxy brand platform sneakers that were on sale. When I got to the register, the associate asked if I wanted another pair since clearance shoes were buy one get one half off. This is a great deal but with a line behind me, I opted to buy my shoes and leave. If I'd known about the deal earlier, I would've shopped around for a second pair. Famous Footwear gets crowded. I wish the store had more spots to sit down and try on shoes as well as more room to walk around and try them out. The aisles are narrow, which is a concern if you're trying to socially distance. I saw hand sanitizer, associates wearing masks, the registers are behind plexiglass, and an announcement over the PA reminded customers to wear masks. Despite the physical layout of the store, which was obviously built pre-2020, I feel like Famous Footwear is combating COVID the best they can.

I'm a big boy and it's hard to find clothes that fit me because most stores don't carry any sizes over XL, but at Burke's they carry up to 5X in clothing for me; with a great selection of XXL in shirts, shorts, and pants. My wife and daughter also found some nice clothes and shoes. They also have a decent pet department there where we were able to pick up some pet car seat covers, food/water bowls, and toys for our furry friends. And they also carry lots of home goods, kitchen items, clothing accessories (watches, earrings, belts, etc), and even some food items. Overall it's a pretty decent store with decent prices.

Fleet feet is a professional running shoe store and since I'm somewhat of a runner, I've visited…read moremany of their shops in different states. For those who might not know what professional shoes sales means, well it's no "Rack Room Shoes", not that it's a bad thing, rather for a focused audience. From a novice runner or a seasoned veteran, Fleet Feet is one of the most reputable stores for high-performance and specialized shoe sales in the greater Charleston/Summerville area. One thing I didn't know is that this is locally owned, not corporate like in TX, KS, MO and NC. That means, if you shop here, you're supporting local owners, which means a lot to me. FF offers an array of different brands and builds to help all sorts of runners with feet issues. For instance, my body isn't exactly a marathon build which means I need almost customized shoes. I have a wider foot and it pronates (rolls) to the inside along with falling arches. FF was able to take my input and offer several styles and brands which address the issue. Their staff are very well versed in what runners need and it's reassuring when a salesman pulls out 4 different shoes all with different functions. They helped find the exact pair which addresses my running and has allowed me to comfortably run without issues. I settled on the Asics GT 1400 GT which helped my feet after I broke them in along with my back and shins (plantar fasciitis is no joke so plan accordingly). Moreover, the staff also has accessories which any runner should consider. They carry several different running sticks to workout trigger points, foam rollers, go (energy for the go!), wicking socks, compression wear, electronics, etc. The staff isn't pushy but when asked they are very good about giving the customer exactly what they need. Finally, if you set up an appointment they can scan your feet for for the exact shoes you need and I believe they can even judge your gate to offer advice. That's doctor level assistance! I can't stress enough how valuable a reputable store Fleet Feet is and I highly encourage anything to give them a "looksie" and see what all products they have for you. If you're just starting up or a long-time runner, this store can help you achieve success. From my experience the staff will have a smile on their face helping you out along with chit chatting about upcoming races. A truly great customer experience with a staff that truly cares for you!

I've always bought a pair and hope they would work out. Today I went to fleet feet and I'm so glad I went! When I first got in, I got asked a couple of questions on what i was looking for, if I had any injuries etc and then I got my feet scanned. The running specialist was very informative and gave a thorough detail of both my feet which was super helpful. Afterwards, I went through several pairs of running shoes until I found a pair I liked! The nice part with fleet feet is that there is a 60 day return policy if you're not satisfied with the shoes selected. The downtown Fleet Feet was overall a good experience! The downsides are parking and limited shoe availability. There is no designated parking space. I took about two laps around until I could find a parking space relatively close by. Definitely will be back to check out their accessories and other shoes.
