The entire team here was incredibly helpful - from the moment we walked in to the moment we checked out. Multiple people checked in on us while we were shopping: one woman went to the back to search for alternate sizes, while another grabbed multiple sizes from the floor for me while I was in the fitting room. Madewell is not cheap - because it's literally made well. Their clothes are investments, and they're built to last! Even still, they had some great sales going on. I found one of my favorite pairs of pants on clearance for $10! I am sorry to say that I didn't get anyone's names before we left - but I'm extremely grateful to this entire team for making sure we had a positive shopping experience, especially in such a high traffic area like King St.

That makes it super helpful that they have a brick and mortar store here on King St where you can find your exact size and then continue to order online. The mens sections is pretty small, maybe 1/4 or less of what the womens is, but it's still better than no mens section like many other stores. The prices are on the higher end, but they always run sales so I suggest waiting for one if it's not something you need right away. So far I only have pants from there which I really like and I may try their t-shirts soon. They look like they have good weight and a good fit too.

Then I was told I had to leave my bag on the bench outside unattended for anyone to just grab as they walk out the dressing room. Mind you, I saw other patrons leaving the dressing rooms with bags in their hand. After telling the attendant I would not leave my bag for someone else to take, she said she would stay and watch it. Not sure why she wasn't watching the other people's bags. My guess, I'm being singled out for some reason....not a good look for this store to single people out. I'm a 20 year military veteran and I get treated like crap at a store that many military people go to. I guess I need to inform my battle buddies of your practices.

While many of the athletic shoes were cute/stylish after trying on a couple of pairs I noticed that I couldn't locate any shoes with the level of internal cushioning that I was seeking, but I would consider returning to make a purchase if I found something that provide me with adequate comfort. I am comparing to &Collar because the fabric is similar (though admittedly thicker), but they are about 75% more expensive. But State & Liberty has a style I love and can't find at &Collar, it's more comparable to Hammermade, which is in roughly the same price class. I ended up getting a pair of pants which is much slimmer than I usual buy but with the stretch they look great on me. My girlfriend says I show her up when I wear them. However, being made in America is a noticable selling point that stuck with me. Once inside, I was warmly greeted by Theresa from the sales staff and to be truthful, I never spoke to anyone in the footwear buisness that was as knowledgeable as she is. My dress shoes are always high quality, typically Italian -- some I even purchased there, yet Theresa was more knowledgeable. I stepped on the machine that gives information on your feet, pressure, pronation, arch, etc. This was a great day in my footwear purchasing history as I learned so much about Red Wing and all they do for their customers to support their products, I wish I could have bought multiple pairs.
