For one the place is expensive but it's downtown Charleston. The big tourist attraction so I get why. There is practically three people examining your ear to see if the anatomy is good (understandable since you do not want something to go wrong). The vibe was not there and always go with your gut. After having your ear examined l, you're thinking you're about to sign the waivers and get in line. NOPE! It's appointment base so if you are a spur of the moment person this place will not work and you'll have to head out in town to get one. The shop was not busy from what we could see. There were customers buying jewelry for the most part and like a handful were getting pierced. Moreover, your experience may differ from ours and it could be the best of the best! I actually see why the other place that does piercings did not recommend this space to us when we asked what piercings places are open at 9am-10am. They mentioned everything but this place. The store got very busy when I was in there. I decided to get my ear pierced when I was in the store. They were able to book my appointment and take me back within 10 minutes. My piercer let my friends come back with me so I could ask their opinion on placement. She was very nice and knew what she was doing. They do all their piercings with a needle which is supposed to be better for you. This place is much cuter than your typical piercing shop read more

Best piercing experience I've ever had. The employees were so kind, patient, and helpful. They helped me pick out which piercing would work well for my ear anatomy and look good with the ones I already had. I bought some jewelry and never take it off. I put them in piercings that were still giving me trouble and because of the quality of the metal, they've now healed completely. Showered with it and everything and it hasn't tarnished so far after nearly 5 months. I'm coming back to studs today for more piercings!! read more

Normally you have to make an appointment online, but the piercer was able to squeeze both of us in right then. I came in yesterday to get my second holes redone (my first ones were pierced with a plastic gun at a crappy place and got infected/closed up). They were able to book me for an appointment the day of which was amazing! The employees here were SUPER nice and helpful! My piercer was excellent (professional, patient, kind)! My piercer used a needle to pierce my ears which is much better than a gun. I love the vibe of the store and the earrings are adorable and reasonably priced! 11/10 experience! I came here over the summer with my friends. We all felt very uncomfortable as the workers were very awkward and just felt super judgy. The piercer mazzy was nice but have to say she did a terrible job. I got two new piercings in the same ear. I was very good about cleaning them but man did they hurt day after day. Fast forward 5 months later and I just had to take out the second piercing bc I couldn't sleep on that ear. She made the piercings slanted / crooked and they were not in correctly. I had to take out both bc my ear was in so much pain I couldn't sleep on that one side ever! I wish I did it sooner bc I can now sleep peacefully. Goodnight and happy thanksgiving! read more

Great experience! I was very nervous to get a simple lobe piercing and they were all so very kind to ease my nerves away. Had the pleasure of being pierced by Mazzy and she was so great that I had to do a second piercing then and there. Place was very clean and everything was sterile. Mazzy worked with me to get the placement I wanted and they all assisted in helping me make the correct selection of jewelry for the piercings. Fairly good price on piercings, nice variety of jewelry to choose from. The staff were friendly, and my piercer Mazzy was very bubbly. I was able to get an appointment an hour and a half from when I walked in even though they were very busy with people walking in and out of the main road. I'll come back to pick out some pieces to decorate my ear and possibly get more piercings. read more

The store manager was very kind, but we had a bad experience with the workers. The check in was rude from the get go. They also tell you a price for the earrings/piercings but don't mention that it will double for both ears so the total price came out to double what we actually were told. We also had someone that cancelled their appt due to anxiety and when she apologized and told the check in lady, she replied "okay good" and pulled the waiver out of her hand. My experience at STUDS was great! My original plan of getting my daith pierced didn't work out after the piercer told me that my daith was too close to my rook and that the piercing wouldn't pierce right...I AM SO THANKFUL to know that the piercers that STUDS really DO know what they are talking about.
