For those who might not know what professional shoes sales means, well it's no "Rack Room Shoes", not that it's a bad thing, rather for a focused audience. From a novice runner or a seasoned veteran, Fleet Feet is one of the most reputable stores for high-performance and specialized shoe sales in the greater Charleston/Summerville area. One thing I didn't know is that this is locally owned, not corporate like in TX, KS, MO and NC. That means, if you shop here, you're supporting local owners, which means a lot to me. FF offers an array of different brands and builds to help all sorts of runners with feet issues. For instance, my body isn't exactly a marathon build which means I need almost customized shoes. I have a wider foot and it pronates (rolls) to the inside along with falling arches. FF was able to take my input and offer several styles and brands which address the issue. Their staff are very well versed in what runners need and it's reassuring when a salesman pulls out 4 different shoes all with different functions. They helped find the exact pair which addresses my running and has allowed me to comfortably run without issues. I settled on the Asics GT 1400 GT which helped my feet after I broke them in along with my back and shins (plantar fasciitis is no joke so plan accordingly). Moreover, the staff also has accessories which any runner should consider. They carry several different running sticks to workout trigger points, foam rollers, go (energy for the go!), wicking socks, compression wear, electronics, etc. The staff isn't pushy but when asked they are very good about giving the customer exactly what they need. Finally, if you set up an appointment they can scan your feet for for the exact shoes you need and I believe they can even judge your gate to offer advice. That's doctor level assistance! I can't stress enough how valuable a reputable store Fleet Feet is and I highly encourage anything to give them a "looksie" and see what all products they have for you. If you're just starting up or a long-time runner, this store can help you achieve success. From my experience the staff will have a smile on their face helping you out along with chit chatting about upcoming races. A truly great customer experience with a staff that truly cares for you!

When I first got in, I got asked a couple of questions on what i was looking for, if I had any injuries etc and then I got my feet scanned. The running specialist was very informative and gave a thorough detail of both my feet which was super helpful. Afterwards, I went through several pairs of running shoes until I found a pair I liked! The nice part with fleet feet is that there is a 60 day return policy if you're not satisfied with the shoes selected. The downtown Fleet Feet was overall a good experience! The downsides are parking and limited shoe availability. There is no designated parking space. I took about two laps around until I could find a parking space relatively close by. Definitely will be back to check out their accessories and other shoes.

A salesperson came over to ask if I needed any assistance which I did not at the time. My purchase went smoothly and the cashier explained their reward system of earning points with every purchase. They also have a decent pet department there where we were able to pick up some pet car seat covers, food/water bowls, and toys for our furry friends. I've walked through the all sections and observed the place is very clean and sterile, a much-appreciated attention to detail aspect. That said I didn't see many employees walking around so if you have questions, you'll have to be proactive and hunt them down for yourself. The floorplan is exactly like every other Kohl's so the customer should have no issues getting around. Small stuff first. The kitchen section has a few nicer items but is marked up a lot from a regular experience, sometimes by a lot. So if you want Bobby Flay's pan set, break out the plastic baby it's gonna cost ya! Next the bedroom supplies aren't marked up that much and should have something to satisfy most people. For instance they have pillows, not specialized items but a sizable list of generic ones (could be name brand but I'm not a pillow expert). The kids might be a little sour on the toy section. It's not very big. I can't speak on the womens section. Oh wait, I did have to buy some tights for running a half marathon and since it's done at the end of winter they're readily available. Overall, Kohl's is very middle America in terms of financial tier, the mentality and corporate targeting. Shopping here isn't as cheap as those big box places however it's not as expensive as those NY style department stores. This particular Kohls is safe with good employees and a lot of decent, albeit dated products. A huge sprawling parking lot with enough space under one roof to get in a mile of walking, if one were so compelled. This brings me to Target in Summerville, SC. Located in a safe albeit busy part of town this place will have, almost anything you need since it's a Super Target. They're aren't many people walking around so if you need something be prepared to "hunt." Finally the place is always clean and stocked so that's a huge bonus. As for the food, it has what one has come to expect from Target, average products at a low cost however when it comes to fruit and veggies, the supply is always needs a lot of washing. The baked and homemade food items are average but better than that other "blue" store! I've also found they're limited in toys as I tried to purchase some items for my kids but they only have the absolute most popular items. So, if you want that GI Joe action figure, you won't find it here, or at least anything new. As for electronics, they have most of the newest gaming consoles, games and controllers however 4k media is limited, but that's a standard among all stores now as physical media continues to be replaced by inferior forms of content like streaming. Most items like pet food and accessories are in abundance, hardware and housing goods have most of what someone needs and the kitchen section has a lot of average equipment to great stuff depending on what you need. For example, the knife selection is horrible but mixers are just as good as anywhere else. I do all of my vitamin and specialty medicine (not prescription) from Target as it's the cheapest. Overall, Target is exactly what you expect anywhere and that's by design. The only real differences are subtle things that regionally might sell better at one place then another state won't offer a product as it won't make sense. Think of a heavy winter coat for sale in Texas - it isn't needed. Other than those items, it's Target so you already know what you want.

They missed part of the issue (popped tire) causing delays in getting the right items to fix the issue. The Ugly: big storm came and further delayed the parts they ordered. Their bike techs only worked part-time. They did not communicate status with me. The Good: after a month, they did fix it nice. They actually did a better job than I expected, going above and beyond to make it right. They did not charge me for the parts or the repair. They earned themselves a customer, and I ended-up buying a pair of shoes from them. Overall, I give them 4 stars for fixing my bike and making the situation right. But they lose a star for lack of communication.
