When I got to the register, the associate asked if I wanted another pair since clearance shoes were buy one get one half off. This is a great deal but with a line behind me, I opted to buy my shoes and leave. If I'd known about the deal earlier, I would've shopped around for a second pair. Famous Footwear gets crowded. I wish the store had more spots to sit down and try on shoes as well as more room to walk around and try them out. The aisles are narrow, which is a concern if you're trying to socially distance. I saw hand sanitizer, associates wearing masks, the registers are behind plexiglass, and an announcement over the PA reminded customers to wear masks. Despite the physical layout of the store, which was obviously built pre-2020, I feel like Famous Footwear is combating COVID the best they can.

I have had the tanger app forever and there are always coupons and such so I pulled it up and there was a weekend promotion going on and it was the last day. I tried to use it and instead of trying any of them, the manager just said that only the lesser one worked and it wouldn't work on clearance... which is expected. I asked why the lesser coupon would work but not the larger one and he said New Balance doesn't really like to participate in the tanger deals because they're more of an elevate brand and don't like to be associated with coupons. Last I checked, we were at a "factory store" in an outlet mall so discounts is the name of the game here. I wasn't looking for anything extra, I just want to make sure that if there is a discount available, I'd rather not pay extra or to be made like I'm a cheapo for trying to do so. I've never understood that with retail workers in a corporate store... like, the money isn't going into your pocket, why wouldn't you try to get the customer a better deal? I like the fit, not so much the quality and much less the customer service. Over time, Skechers built a reputation that exceeds simply being on trend. The men's leather loafers are rock solid. The sandals tend to be really comfy. Personally, I only wear walking and running shoes, even if I'm dressing up. I get plenty of compliments wearing the brand and am grateful for squishy soles when I'm out and about. Skechers work for walks (including distance), but--for me--not running events. So with all the love, why the lower stars? It's a customer service issue. We've experienced stock issues, orders that are wrong or go awry, failure to even acknowledge a customer in the store. This diminishes the rating.
