I've been coming here ever since I was a kid, they had just opened. Since than they have remodeled twice to move away from the old Chinese restaurant that was here before and it looks great. Delicious!! I wish I lived closer. I had the beef kebab. It came on pita with a delicious rice and grilled tomato. My lunch special came with a soup or salad. I upgraded to the Shiraz salad for 1.99 and it was fantastic. It was made of fresh cucumber, tomato, olive oil, lemon and just the right amount of salt. I can't stop thinking about it. The steak on my kebab was tender and cooked to perfection. I sat in the patio which was really beautiful. The service was friendly & prompt. The food was very fresh. The reason I like this restaurant (take out): 1. They have excellent meal with side dishes. They also serve fresh onions and mint. My Persian friend says their onions are fresh, and tastes and price are much better than other famous restaurants in Glendale. 2. They accept online order in advance so that I can save my time. 3. If I could rate them a big fat ZERO for customer service, I would! The manager (Essie) of this establishment is extremely rude and has no idea what is meant by customer service or hospitality. A simple thing like confirming a reservation became a big ordeal with this guy. He felt the need to lecture me for several minutes that they didn't have my reservation because only a manager can take reservations and that I should have gotten the name of the person who took the reservation and on and on and on. I couldn't believe my ears. This guy has a serious problem, he was belligerent, rude and condescending with a sarcastic tone of voice and seemed to be enjoying it. I will never go back to this restaurant again. There are plenty of great options out there and they will no longer get my business. Very happy with the awesome service & staff! Recently held my graduation there and these people went above & beyond to make sure everything was perfect! The food is delish & environment is cozy. Most importantly, the prices are decent, so makes it great for celebrations & gatherings. Came here for a company party! It was a lot of fun! They have a large parking lot in the back so you do t have to worry about parking. The food was good, we had a Dj and danced a lot. The only problem was, and I'm not sure if this was just the party or always, but they didn't serve alcohol. We were allowed to bring bottles of wine and they would uncork it. But no alcohol was being served on site. The place next store to it is a liquor store. That made it convenient to grab some stuff on the way in. read more

We have been staying in Los Feliz area for close to two years now. Every time we wanted some good vegetarian option for mediterranean food we will go to Gaby's (Culver City or Venice Beach) till we discovered this trove. The ambience is really good with a lot of space (they can accommodate 250+ people and can host bouquets. We are vegetarian and we couldn't have asked for more on their menu. They have a couple of unique soups (try the one with spinach and yoghurt), The ala carte dish is served with rice. The prices are reasonable. The place carries B certificate but we found it perfectly fine for our taste. read more

A place not too far away from the main area of Glendale. At first the outside make it seem that the venue is a regular restaurant but as you enter you can sense good vibes. Our waiter, Victor, greeted us in a welcoming fashion making us feel comfortable as it is my first time being in a middle eastern cuisine restaurant. The place seems quite pricey for an average teenager like myself but going with a family is an advantage, though I would not mind paying for myself. We ordered a side of tahdig, beef koobideh, beef bargh, mast o'moosir, in house doogh and bottled doogh. The beef koobideh was tasteless, overly cooked and hard instead of fresh and tender. The beef barg was tasteless; like eating paper not to mention they don't even serve fresh lavash bread instead they'll serve you hard pita bread that they bought at the supermarket..omg they can literally pickup fresh bread daily from the Persian market this city is known for its high population of Iranians. It's a shame that the owner hasn't come up with a better solution! The doogh is a shame also they do not serve fresh carbonated doogh with mint only bland doogh or bootle doogh It's a shame for such a big empty restaurant but maybe that explains it all! Another unpleasant thing that we have noticed was that the dishes were not clean enough and I began to wonder whether Public Health know all about those or not?? how can they serve drink with dirty glasses? WELL... I have NEVER. WOW. Talk about the absolute RUDEST experience in customer service. Let me start by saying, honestly, I enjoyed the food. The zereshk polo was actually pretty delicious! However, the interaction I had with the "manager" Farhad was so scary and off putting that the food no longer even matters. This was my second visit here (I recently buried my sister at Forrest Lawn - a nearby cemetery - mandating that we find Persian food around the area for my fam). The first time there wasn't any real bumps in the road. THIS TIME, however, WOW. My Dad ordered an eggplant dish (normally an appetizer) as his main dish. After our appetizers had come out, they came back to our table to let us know they were out of that eggplant dish. OK. So he looked at the menu and ordered a rice dish. Baghalee Polo. In the mean time , they brought out our main dishes and we ate. We waited for my Dad's dish to come out and when we were near finishing, they came back out and said the rice had been burnt and they couldn't serve it - what else would we like? At this point, we were finished with our food. I offered for my Dad to just finish the rest of my food and asked that we be provided a discount for the inconvenience which the food runner said yes to. The server then came back and offered free tea and dessert ... we didn't want that so we declined. When it was time to pay, I went up to the front to pay without letting my family know/argue over bill etc.. I asked the server about the discount and she timidly said wait here I need to talk to my manager. She came back and said we cannot offer a discount, that the tea and dessert was the only offer she could provide, so I asked to talk to the manager. This is when I had the "pleasure" to meet the manager, Farhad. He basically ran up to me with intimidation in his presence and voice. He told me that they would not provide a discount and that the tea was all they could provide. I told him we just came from my sister's grave, my father did not receive any of the food he ordered and has diabetes/cannot have dessert. He said, well, "You need to CONVINCE me of why you deserve a discount?" This was all in an angry tone. I repeated the situation - the eggplant dish, the burnt rice, etc.. he said, "no , I wrote "86" on the white board about the rice in the back, you didn't want it , it wasn't burnt. We didn't charge you for that and that is your favor" I asked to talk to the runner who told us the food was burnt. They brought him out and he repeated what he told me which I said, "See Im not lying or anything" and which point the manager put his arm out and angrily exclaimed, "I NEVER SAID YOU WERE LYING. I need to get the story!" I said, "ok, go ahead get the story." and didn't say anything else. Finally he asked me, "How much is the bill??" I said I hadn't even seen it yet, so he barked at the server to get the bill. He looked at it and said, "Ill give you $10 off." I said, ok that's fine. HELLO ITS CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE?!!?!? I HAVE NEVER had a more rude interaction with a manager when it was a CLEAR mistake on the restaurant's end...I will wait in line for Raffi's the next time we visit the grave. So this place is all bs!!!! I was the chef here about one month ago or so, I quit because they are so unsanitary, are not even close to health department standards, and do nasty things when is come to peeping the food. The owner Mario and Majid will go behind the line when we would be cooking stick there fingers in the pot taste the food and use the same finger and try it again along with whatever els in cooking!! I tried to change that place but had no lick plus they rob all the employees when it comes to pay.!!!! Including myself I will be back with more details!!!! Was craving RAFFIS but didnt want to drive out in this triple digit heat with my 1 year old baby, so I stumbled upon this place on eat24. They have a minimum $20 for delivery, so I ordered a greek salad and the ahi kabob with shirazi. When the delivery guy came he looked upset and proceeded to tell me that I was lucky I wasnt charged for delivery because its outside their radius. I wish I didnt pretip them almost $5 because of his rude demeanor. Anyways onto the food. Greek Salad: Didnt look appetizing at all especially because of all the wilted lettuce pieces. They also over did it with some weird seasoning which was sprinkled everywhere. The ranch dressing is probably from a hidden valley costco bottle. I feel sooo wasteful but I just cant find myself to eat it. Basically throwing away $10. Shirazi: Totally inedible. Extremely salty and so sour that I had to spit it out. This is from someone who loves vinegar and sour things. It tastes like they used fake lemon concentrate. The kind they sell in plastic lemons or limes. Tasted totally artificial. Yuck. Ahi Kabob: Afterall the disappointments at least the ahi was really good. However, I did end up tasting a bit of the rice and its stIll no where near as good as raffis buttery greatness. I was referred here by a cousin and was incredibly excited to try it out. Being persian myself, I love finding new persian places to eat at. Sadly i was greatly disappointed. The food was ok. The service however is why this place got 1 star. Its Tuesday afternoon, there is only one table with customers, yet it took the server over 10 min to even get our drink order. We were given bread and then ignored while a party that came in after us was sat and served. Our waiter seemed to really not care at all about us. This emtire experience was incredibly disappointing. Okay, here I go again, jumping on Yelp after a bad experience during a visit to one of my favorite restaurants. Keep in mind this review is mainly directed toward the service. The food is okay. Large portions. Consistency, consistency, consistency--is it too much to ask for? I pick up lunch from this restaurant at least once a month and each time I leave annoyed by something. Last time I watched my order get carried off by someone else, this time it was my order not showing up in the computer and the young man assuring me the order was never placed and that "it's okay, I put in order now, no problem." I reassured him I'm not crazy and heard my wife place the order, but he still denied the call ever happened and with such conviction that I almost believed I dreamt the entire event. After a few minutes of back-and-forth about whether the call was ever placed, he finally walked over to a grumpy old man (probably the owner), asked him something in their native tongue, and was quickly brushed away. He then decided to check with the kitchen to see if they had prepared the order. A few seconds later he appeared with my order in hand and said, "I must be going crazy." Yes, you must be. So my order was packaged and ready to go and all I had to do was pay the bill and be out, but not without my extra bag of pita and two sides of bagged basil, onions & radishes, of course. The same extras I have grown to love when ordering take out from my favorite Persian restaurant. I asked for the extra bread and once again the kid reluctantly ran upstairs and returned with my request. I also asked for the basil and radishes and was given only one bag. I asked for a second and was told since they were lunch orders I shouldn't even be given one and would have to be charged for a second. What you talkin' 'bout Willis? I have been picking up takeout from this place for years and have always received two bags, one for each meal ordered, at no charge. Granted this was a new face (the usual person in charge of takeout always gives me bread and extras), I still didn't appreciate the treatment. I even asked him if he was new and he quickly said no (sure buddy). Anyway, I'm not sure what their takeout lunch policy is or if this new guy is just a stickler for rules, but all I know is that I expect the same service each time I visit and experiences like this always leave a bad taste in my mouth. I still left a tip (because I'm cool like that), grabbed my food (minus one bag of goodies), and returned home to my wife with lunch in hand. Since I'm such a great husband, I let my wife enjoy the 3 radishes she loves to eat with her chicken koobideh and was left radish-less--a small price to pay for her happiness. I'm sure we will continue dining at this restaurant for years to come because we enjoy the food, especially the yogurt soup, but I couldn't resist sharing my recent experience with you all (and hopefully the owner or manager or someone who gives a shit). read more

But do yourself a favor and don't miss the soup (it's got some yogurt or something in it), and get the tadik (burnt rice) w/ the stew on top that's got pomegranate in it (I think).
