Customer service stinks at this location, popped in this morning to get myself and coworkers donuts. Lady takes my order, gets my donuts and tells me the total. I go to hand her a $50, because if I have cash I use it. She then gives me this ugly look and says I don't have change for that, everybody else that has come through has used a card. And baby let me tell you, if I wouldn't have been thinking about my coworkers I would have drove off. I get it cool, but there is a better way of saying you can't accept cash! This location just opened down the street from my house. I don't eat donuts much since I work from home and they are more of an office treat, but it is nice to have a donut shop close by. There were several employees working when I arrived, so I was helped right away. There isn't much to the location, just a lobby area and the display case. Perhaps they will get a few table and chairs in the future? There is a drive thru as an added convenience. Normally my wife and I will have breakfast tacos on Saturdays, so having a kolache was a nice change of pace. We each opted for the jalapeño, cheese, and sausage kolache. I also snagged an apple fritter. The kolaches were larger than expected, but the sausage was a bit small. There was a subtle hint of spice from the jalapeño, but I wish it had more. The amount of cheese used was ideal. The fritter was huge and was just as big on taste. I will definitely be back to this location if I want an alternative to a breakfast taco. read more

I would consider myself a Shipley Do-but fan. I don't typically go anywhere else for donuts unless I have no choice. Today was the absolute worst experience in customer service that I have had here or anywhere else. I went through drive-thru ordered 4 glazed donuts when the lady finally came to the window. She took so long we queStioned if this place was even open. She came back and gave me the total. She said 3$. We gave her a $5. She comes back with my change and hands me $1. I was very confused and said ... "excuse me mam we gave you a 5" . To which she replied "ya" . I explained that the change was incorrect if the total was 3$ . She then raised her voice in a condescending tone and said "3.96$" ohhhh ! Ok that makes sense . I said "ok , no problem next time can you please give us the correct total .. I would have loved to use change" . She then argues that she did tell us 3.96 but we chose not to hear her . I'm sorry. What? I chose not to hear her. (Look...I don't care about the price but who says that to a customer). I was caught off guard. Seriously. I said excuse me what? Y'all I'm so confused. She then repeats herself . "That's your choice to not hear what I said" . At this point I know speaking to her anymore Is pointless. I ask for the manager - "I'm the only one here" What's your name? - "I don't give my name out to customers" Ok, what is your managers name? - "I don't know" You don't know your managers name ? - "no" Ok can I have a business card please ? - "no" What? - "we don't have those" You really don't care about your customer service do you? "No" "you'll have to come in person tomorrow early if you want to speak with the manager" she then slams the window on my face. I'm really bothered that a great spot like Shipley would leave their store in the hands of someone who just doesn't care. I don't know why she felt the need to be so ugly for something so small. I went earlier today to this location with expecting nothing but great service as usual, but I walked in and no one was wearing gloves and the lady at the drive thru window was taking payments credit cards etc. And was rolling out the dough for the Kolaches without gloves and without washing her hands after handling money. read more

The donuts are delicious and the sausage and cheese kolaches are a big personal favorite. The selection is very wide and you can ask for fresh warm donuts before 10:30am. They open very early and stay open in the afternoons for light snacks. This place definitely deserves 3 stars though. While I've never tried the coffee, the fountain drink station has never worked in the 2 years I've been going. The entire place looks like it hasn't been updated in 40 years and there's unused equipment at the front behind the counter. It badly needs to be updated. There are hand-written paper advertisements in the windows EVERYWHERE, and they look incredibly tacky. It's not a place I would feel like walking into if I didn't know the donuts were so good. Most locations have fried, frosted, and sprinkled donuts, but they only have the baked version. The staff is friendly and quick. They're the reason I keep coming back. read more

The only reason why it got two stars was because the good was good. However, customer service is terrible. I went through ye drive thru and I was told the Kolaches weren't ready & it would be 10 minutes. I decided to wait. 30 minutes go by and they are finally ready. I handed the girl a $20 (they were $14). I was waiting for my change. She point blank told me she gave me my $6 in change back. She didn't of course. So we went back & forth until I am guessing she realized her mistake then gave me the $6 and blamed it on me complaining. First all if she believed that she was right giving me the $6 would make her drawer short. Which would get her in trouble I would assume. Second of all when she realized she was wrong all she had to do was apologize and give me my change. Do not blame it on me for your lack of ability to count change back correctly. Third do you really think anyone would make a fuss over $6 if they were planning on stealing it from a donut shop? Not me. I want my change back nothing more. Cute throwback to another era. The coffee isn't fancy but it's always good and hot and my kiddos love going in a choosing a donut from the case. I stop at this Shipley's on my way to work often. The service in the drive through is typically A+. Not this morning. A new lady at the window kept speaking over me when I was trying to place my order and did not listen. I then had to repeat the order to one of the regular employees. When it was time to pay another employee came to take my card, but my total was not over the minimum five dollars for debit cards. I never have an issue with my total being under five dollars. They should consider giving regular customers a break every now and then especially when their visit has already been frustrating. read more

My mother and I ate here and she got 2 donuts both were raw in the middle, I got coffee and it had a burnt taste to it. The location was not clean as it should have been. The staff up front were friendly I must say. But they do need to reevaluate their cooking times and temperatures. read more

The apple fritters are very very good. What makes them special in my opinion is that they have apple filling in them, not as cheap as let's say Dunkin donuts but they are worth the extra money. Would definitely recommend to any one looking for a great sweet treat at a reasonable price. read more

My kiddos love donuts, I use to go to the shipleys growing up so i was excited to share the deliciousness with my kids. We decided to do the drive thru, ordered a dozen donuts and a dozen kolaches. The donuts were good and the kolaches just as I remembered. We paid and took them home to share with everyone. Later on that day my husband was looking at his bank online and saw that they had charged him $80!!!! He called the bank and they told him to go in to the restaurant and talk to the manager. The itemized receipt he signed was correct but the ATM receipt he didn't look at till later said $80. When my husband took the receipt back to the manager the man was rude and belligerent calling my husband a flat out liar. He told my husband that was not his receipt and repetitively called my husband a liar. The sales clerk even agreed that the receipt was in fact theirs. At this point the manager decided to pretend he no longer spoke English. We were $60 over charged for donuts and kolaches!!!!!
