Idc what anyone says. The best donuts in town are located here. The other donut locations do not hold a candle to the doughy goodness in a Shipley's donut. Let's, however, discuss that all locations are not created equally. I like my donut warm when I eat it so a location like the one off of Blanco and Lockhill Selma where the donuts aren't prepared on sight (if I remember correctly) may not be the preferred spot. Consistently rude through the drive thru. Good fritters, that's about it. Today I came through and ordered an apple fritter, bear claw, and two ham and cheese croissants. When I got home, I saw they gave me two regular kolache. So I returned, as my kids will not eating sausage kolaches. The woman at the drive through was like "well we are out of ham and cheese". I said "you didn't tell me that when I ordered". She said, well what do you want me to do? I said give me my money back. Now I'm sitting in the drive through waiting to get my money back as she questions me on my total and acts pissed about the inconvenience. This store has never been friendly to me and my kids, but I've put up with it as it is close to my house. Never again. Use to be my favorite Shipley but times have changed. I would always get a dozen apple fritters for work because this Shipley surpassed any other we could find for the big chunks of apples in their fritters. Now there are no apples and they are a strange oval shape and hard. Last time I asked for a dozen mixed donuts and when I got to work there were 4 different flavors and probably the ones that don't sell. Since you can't go inside (at least not early in the morning) it's hard to know the options. The worker inside had her child in there behind the counter running around. I'm guessing there's new ownership. I'll be looking elsewhere from now on. read more

Come here often. Probably once a week honestly! I cannot figure out for the life of me why they shove a dozen donuts in a small box. They mash together and don't look very good. Oh well. I really like the white icing donut!! The icing, you can tell, is so fresh! I also like the glazed blueberry cake donut but it is not as good a Krispie Kreme blueberry (I'd honestly go to KK but it's too far from my house). Only one time I received bad service, otherwise, the service is mediocre. This is another reason I would choose KK, actually. The service is always ON POINT there! This is my first and only Shipley's location and I think it's pretty great, they even have a drive thru...not that I need that quick of access to donuts! I've been here early in the AM and the staff is great and ultra-friendly. The counter staff looks like they're pretty young, first part-time job type of situation...so the manager is always around, making sure everything is great. I am a little at a loss why this location of Shipley's has such a low review. The staff here is courteous and the donuts are really delicious. Tables are clean and there is never a wait for service. Kolaches are good- especially the sausage and jalepeño. Cinnamon rolls are a good size and prices are reasonable. I haven't tried their coffee, so I can't speak to its quality. One negative- the apple fritters. For some strange reason, they are stuffed with apple-pie filling, which is very disappointing. Me and my girlfriend had gone to this Shipleys a couple of times every time there was something. Maybe call it inconsistencies across other franchises but the caramel latte we got was much sweeter and had almost no coffee in it compared to other Shipleys we had been to. Let me first start off by saying that I am not a huge doughnut fanatic. I can enjoy a good doughnut from time to time but that hankering gets fixed by only the most select places. That being said. This place makes me sad. The employees were lackluster and depressing, the doughnuts looked old and personally had not flavor to me. Overall this was a bad experience and I am not sure that I will be venturing out anytime soon for doughnuts...(unless they are from Gordough's or Round Rock Donuts). read more

This was the first time I had actually been inside a Shipley's in some time. It made me realize that maybe adding pictures to the menu wouldn't be such a bad thing, because there were some items that I didn't even know they carried available there. The guy working the counter was good, but I was disappointed that they have a spending minimum for using debit cards. While I understand the WHY behind it, I would think that Shipley's (a multi-million dollar company) does enough business to not impose these poor business practices on customers, so -1 star for that because it completely rubbed me the wrong way. The end result is that they ended up just rounding my transaction up to $4, which means they're basically screwing me over either way - I either spend more, or donate un-charitably. read more

HORRIBLE!!!! The staff is about as ratchet as it gets. All I will ever remember from this place is the manager screaming from the back, "TELL THEM THEY CAN WAIT!!" The cashier was so shook and timid, she could barely speak as she fumbled around. Let's not forget "Helga-looking" woman with pig tails working the drive thru..bumping her iPod and bouncing around the front counter. I went to place a kind of large order of donuts today, and of course it was crowded due to it being National Donut Day. Everything was running smooth and John was doing his best to make sure everybody was served. However, the lady with short blonde hair was beyond rude.
