Noticed some not so good reviews about this Shipley's location so I wanted to add my insignificant opinion. I travel all over the state for work and I've tried many kolaches at many Shipley's. If this location doesn't have the best kolaches of all the Shipley's I've been to, it's very close. And the lady at the counter was super nice. Recommend. read more

Stopped for some donuts and coffee. Dining room and restrooms were closed due to COVID, However staff allowed us to use the restroom. The staff was friendly and the donut selection was good. The lady double our order at no extra charge. We enjoyed the fresh tasty donuts and will certainly be back for more. read more

Before Shipley moved from across the street, they were, hands down, the best donuts in Lufkin, probably the best donuts in East Texas. Regrettably, they're no longer as good as they used to be, I would have given Shipley 5 Stars a few years ago, donuts so good they were worth waking up before 5am to be there when the doors opened, but they've slowly deteriorated to the point that I would rather pick up donuts from the Wal*Mart or HEB bakeries, that's how forgettable Shipley has become. read more

I live in Houston but I came all the way out here to get donuts, since my boyfriend stays in Lufkin. And I must say driving for over 2 hours just to come inside to a welcoming face made my day. The lady that works there is extremely sweet, and she's so friendly to talk to as well as very welcoming. They have a huge selection of donuts, and everything is great and delicious, I would definitely recommend this place, and I'm definitely coming back for sure. read more

I grew up in Houston around the corner from a Shipley Do-Nuts. Their donuts set the standard for me, and no longer living in Houston, I always look forward to the chance to grab some glazed do-nuts and my favorite--cherry iced. With that being said, this is the worst Shipley's I've ever been to. First of all, they don't take credit cards. Second, they do not carry many of the old Shipley's standbys. My family are huge Shipley's fans. Houston and San Antonio have great Shipley's, but this one is sub par. As another reviewer stated, the consistency of the donuts at this location is not typical of Shipley's. We only went there once but we wouldn't go back. read more

First, this Shipley's is unlike any other and they make some of their donuts better than other chain locations. I grew up in Lufkin and Shipley's was always a goto place for donuts. Living in the Houston area now I still consider them to have the best chocolate iced donuts ever. I have been to Shipley's other cities and towns and there is a big difference. Lufkin Shipley's well glaze a donut and then add the chocolate icing making it a really good taste. Other places make what I like to call chocolate bread, just bread shaped like a donut with chocolate on it...not that special. I wish other Shipley's were as good as this one. read more

I used to love Shipleys until the it sold to new people. These people are nice but they rip you off. You buy iced fill donuts to find no icing in the donut. If you wanted a plain donut we would have paid for a plain donut. But instead we pay the extra only to be disappointed. They also changed the recipe. They have completely gone off my radar as being the best donut shop in Lufkin. Quit being nice by giving free donuts away and give what we pay for. A cream filled donut means the donut has a hole filled with chocolate or vanilla cream not a a pinky size squirt. So quit being stingy and give us what you advertise or I'm not coming in no more. read more
