Ok so I needed my room cleaned because I was leaving a roommate situation. I was down to the wire and called them the day before I needed the carpet cleaned. I spoke to a guy who was able to fit me in the next day and didn't require me to print out the coupon deal. I got one room cleaned however the technician did the stairs and the walk way for free! There was nothing be up-sell charges from the moment the individual answered the phone. I agreed to paying an additional $30 for a cleaning outside of the radius. There were more charges outside of my coupon( additional $2 per step, an additional $20 per room outside of the 900 square feet). Although, I called and made an appointment, they did not honor my appt. time because when they called my phone 30 minutes prior to my appointment I didn't answer. By me not answering my phone due to work it totally negated the fact that I had an appointment time and two people at home waiting on the carpet cleaner . When they arrived they tried to sell me on a deep-cleaning which I did not need. To top everything off keep in mind that I spoke to this company twice once to schedule my appointment and the second time to confirm my appointment....the carpet cleaner then explained to me that they do not move any items, if I wanted items moved for them to clean I had to move it. I asked why wasn't this told to me the day I made my appointment? The response to my question was "If you had asked when you made the appointment we would have told you!" Once that was said I cancelled my appointment and I am asking for a full refund from Groupon. They were very professional and responsive to our flooded basement crisis. They had to pull up our carpet to replace the padding underneath. Now the carpet doesn't look as neat as it did before - it's frayed on the edges where it meets the tile - but I understand it's difficult to reinsert. They did a really good job cleaning the carpet. They gave me a window of 8-12 and the technician arrived at 9 and was out by 11. I contacted Shiny Carpet Cleaning as I needed my carpet cleaned on the same day or the day after due to vacating a rental. Ivan was very friendly and accommodating and was able to come on the same day! He arrived promptly and upon arrival immediately reviewed the job. He let me know he may not be able to get some of the areas immaculate as they were either high traffic areas or the sun may have discolored the carpet in the sun room, but he would do the best he could. Worst cleaning job I have EVER seen! We traditionally get our carpet cleaned every 6 months. We don't even require a deep cleaning package. I had ordered the deep cleaning package through Groupon. I am fully convinced the carpet was never even touched. The shadows under the couch (clearly not high traffic areas) are still visible along with high traffic areas (again that have come out with every other cleaning service we have had in the past). This company lists specific prices for upholstery cleaning on their web site, with measured sizes (i.e. 7 feet, 5 feet), so based on these prices I purchased a groupon for carpet cleaning with them, because I wanted to have one company come to my house and do both things. They were able to get into my townhome in my absence and the gentleman on the phone was very courteous every time I called him and I had to do that several times for various things. I had a Groupon that was about to expire so I called to schedule the carpet cleaning service. The technician came the next morning well within the 4 hour window. He was very professional and did not pressure me to get the deep cleaning for an extra $25/room. He was able to complete 4 small bedrooms and a hallway in about 30 to 40 minutes and the carpets looked really clean! The only difference I noticed from my previous carpet cleaner is that my previous carpet cleaner had a truck/van mounted machine. Shiny Carpet uses the portable machines but my carpet came out really clean. The tech also turned on all the fans in the bedrooms so the carpet could dry faster. Amazing! I have had carpet cleaners before,but never like these guys. I had two really dirty stained carpets. I really didn't think they could get the stains out, but the guys showed up (I'm in a condo on the 6th floor) and got to work. They looked fantastic, but still I knew the stains would probably come back. No, they didn't. I don't know what they did but they look like new. After calling same day due to a not so great experience booking with another carpet cleaning company, Shiny Carpet Cleaning was able to accommodate me within 4 hours. That's pretty incredible. I had several stains due to a puppy and old carpets (in a rental) and they look amazing! Shiny Carpet cleaning service was horrible. I do not recommend this company. I did not have a Groupon or Living Social coupon when I received their services. First, when I called I informed the owner that I had pretty clean/new carpets and just wanted to surface cleaning, there was no need for a deep cleaning. He agreed and set up service pretty quickly. Communication prior to my service was excellent. Once the gentleman arrived at my home he tried to continuously push the deep cleaning for the additional price. Both my husband and myself declined. He still continued to push the deep cleaning after our final decision was made once again. Secondly my home is 3000 square feet, it took the guy approximately 45 mintues to steam clean the entire home (three bedrooms, hallway, 2 landings, 36 steps and a full basement)...unheard of!!! Third, I asked the gentlemen to please put on shoe covers since our family does not wear shoes on the carpet everyday to keep them clean; and he proceeds to argue with me why the shoe covers were unnecessary and why he doesn't like to wear them. After his debate he reluctantly went to his van and retrieved the covers. By this time I'm very annoyed with this guy. Lastly after he "steam cleaned" the carpets he walked over as well as rolled his equipment over the wet carpet after he argued with me about the shoe covers that his company does not do such a thing! NEVER again will I use this company nor to I recommend them. I called several times to let them know my dissatisfaction with the service and my phone call was not returned. So I cancelled our check and received a call promptly once my bank returned my check to them.
