I bought a livingsocial deal to have my basement carpet cleaned since it was filthy. I also wanted to upgrade to get my stairs done since I knew they were not included in the cost of the service. When I called to schedule my appointment they were courteous and gave me a time just a few days later (instead of weeks later like many other places do when you call saying you have a deal voucher). On the day of my service they called to confirm my time saying they were going to be there in about an hour. I had a little emergency with my 6 month old and they were kind enough to move things around to arrive a bit later for me. I did upgrade to the deep clean since the cost to shampoo my stairs was so affordable. I would definitely use them again even without the livingsocial offer. read more

Very happy with their carpet cleaning service. Satisfied! Could see the stains disappearing right away. Quick service. Flexible scheduling. Had to change from Saturday to Friday. Loved it! I'll recommend to all my friends. Thanks Shiny Carpet Cleaning! read more

I just can't recommend Shiny Carpet Cleaning service. Bottom line is that the carpet is now stiff after cleaning. The pricing is fine I guess. Usually carpets feel refreshed after a cleaning and feel good on your feet. These carpets are in great shape and just got them cleaned because it's been a year and want to keep them in good shape. read more

Ive been burned by carpet cleaners before (ahem im looking at you Envirocare) so working with these guys was a breath of fresh air. They were on time, VERY nice, did not bait and switch or try to upsell me too hard. The job was done quickly, and the quality was obvious. Ill be using these guys from now on! Highly recommended. read more

Had a very difficult candle wax stain that needed to be removed. The wax was bright orange on a cream carpet! Mario came out this morning and got the wax up!! He was very personable, knowledgable and worked really hard to remove the stain. Very reasonably priced. The only complaint I have is that the person I spoke with on the phone seemed to promise services I did not receive. read more

Ian G. was professional and courteous. He called 30 min before arrival. His van pull up near my townhouse and he connected the steamer hose to the water supply. He even figured out how to turn on my outside water hose (had it off for some reason). I originally wanted my basement done. However, after he quoted me on the basement--it was a fair price. I decided to get two bedrooms done, two stairs, and the upstairs hallway. No pressure from Ian. He was very accommodating. Plus, I used my old Groupon. I am extremely satisfied with the service and deal. Also, Shiny Carpet Cleaning sends you a text reminder via the House Call app. This company is accommodating to technology which adds to mass bonus points! read more

Always so impressed! Had these guys come clean my carpets in 11/2013 and called them again because I have two dogs. Anyways, the same guy Mario who cleaned them the first time came back. He's friendly, prompt, and takes his time to make sure he gets all the stains out. I wouldn't use anybody else besides these guys, they're fantastic! read more

Shiny Carpet Cleaning - Near the window was covered in pet stains (we have a puppy) now it's like brand new! - Carpet Cleaning Near Me - Springfield, Virginia

Scheduled time was between 8:00am to 12:00 pm. I received SMS updates after scheduling, and when the technician was en route. Alex was very personable and took care to not damage anything while he was here. It took a little extra time to get started as the outside hose bib was not functioning properly, but he worked around it by connecting the machine up to a bathroom faucet. Even though he was running behind schedule, Alex did not rush the job and spent as much time needed to get all stains out. I've had carpets cleaned before where you could clearly see the person was rushing and did not stop to see if any stains remained. For about 2,000 sqft plus a flight of stairs, the job took nearly the whole amount of time allotted. Knocked one star due to their cancellation/reschedule fee policy, which requires 24 hours of notice. Rescheduling should probably cost less than cancellation, and it should probably be a percentage of the quoted job rather than a flat rate. It likely comes up so infrequently that they haven't had anyone complain about which is a good thing from both sides. Also it would be really courteous if the tech wore any sort of protective plastic around his shoes like cable guys do. Go with Shiny Carpet cleaning if you're absolutely sure you'll be available that day, they're one of the few (at least my Tech was) concerned with getting stains out, not just passing over your carpet as fast as possible and moving onto the next job. read more

Ivan did a great job on our carpets! We moved out of our apartment which we were required to have cleaned and then into a new house we bought. Ivan was quick, professional with the scheduling and his pricing is very very competitive. Our carpets at either location were not in bad condition--but we were very happy with the results! As an added bonus, Ivan even helped my husband move some boxes out of our apartment!! Super great guy--we will definitely we using him and Shiny Carpet Cleaning in the future! read more

Fast, efficient and reasonably priced. The rate they quote is the rate that you pay. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended.

I called on a Thursday and booked for the next day. Sergio called ahead and arrived as scheduled, He was knowledgeable and friendly. Great job! My carpets were completely dry within 24 hours (including the stairs). read more

After another carpet cleaning company I had booked weeks in advance to clean the carpets in my condo bailed at the last minute (but only after I waiting around for them from 8 am to 2 pm) I contacted Shiny. They ended up completing the job within 24 hours for less than the other company. read more

The work done was good, I'll give them that! However when I reached out i only had an idea of when i wanted the services done. And hadn't given my card info yet. I receive an email for a service confirmation (that i never confirmed And wasn't looking out for because i never confirmed). The day that was never confirmed comes and i receive a phone call telling me they are on the way and if i cancel i would have to pay $100 fee. If you are shopping around for services, don't call unless you know for sure that you want to be serviced by them to prevent being fast talked into a confirmation that you never confirmed. Lesson learned. read more

I spent 3 hours trying to clean an area rug and it still smelled like dog (we have two large dogs that love to roll on ANY carpet they encounter). I finally called Shiny's and they came out later that day and cleaned the rug in about 30 minutes. Sammy was the technician. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He provided great insight on how to clean wool rugs as well as explaining their process. The rug no longer smells like a wet, dirty dog and it looks great! Between the no hassle scheduling via phone, same day cleaning, and revitalized rug, I highly recommend Shiny Carpet Cleaning services. read more

I absolutely loved my experience with Shiny Carpet Cleaning! A few weeks back my puppy made a mess on my roommates bed and I felt really bad so I wanted to get it cleaned. The job was done in about 30 minutes and the mattress was as good as new! Highly recommend! read more

I highly recommend Shiny Carpet Cleaning! The service was outstanding and the results were better than I expected. Ahmed did an excellent job and I appreciated him answering my questions, I am very satisfied with the results. The price was good, I have paid more and in the past and it still did not get the same results so I am glad I found them. It really looks like I have new carpets. The staff was very friendly and helpful when I was making the appointment which made the entire process from start to finish amazing! Thank you so much!! read more

I really appreciate everything Shiny Carpet did for us today. We moved to area and needed our rentals carpets cleaned ASAP. They were able to accommodate us and did a excellent job. What a disaster! I hired this company based on all the great yelp reviews. Well, the person who showed up was indeed prompt and courteous. Unfortunately, he was neither diligent nor particularly honest. Before you think I'm just throwing out insults with no reason - the technician up-sold me some extra work, asked me to pay cash for that portion, then on the way out told me not to tell his boss about the extra work. The dishonesty behind my complaint, though, was that he promised me all the brown spots left on my white furniture when he was done would disappear once they dried. They were mostly near the floor and on curves, so that seemed plausible. But it wasn't true. If anything the spots got darker! In retrospect, some of the dirty spots were straight lines, clearly spots he had not gone over with the machine, but again, good reviews, pleasant service, he hadn't yet made the comment about not telling his boss - I gave him the benefit of the doubt. My bad! Maybe just a bad technician and not representative of the company? I called them and was told that they could come out in 3 weeks, during a 4-hour window, to look at the situation - not fix it, look at it. (To be fair, they also offered to have me take 6-8 hours off from work during the week and wait for them then, but that seemed like a very expensive option.) No apology, no willingness to set an appointment rather than a window, no effort at all to put things right. In fact, he told me it was my fault - the problem was not that the job was done poorly, but that I had waited 4 days to call. Then he crowed that he "has my signatures" and there was nothing I could do. I guess we'll have to see about that. read more

I have two dogs and my home carpet and rugs needs cleaning so often. I found shiny carpet cleaning online after a very bad experience with other cleaners. Ian sent me one of his friendly technician and he was here on time even though it was a short notice. He uses truck mount carpet cleaning system. My carpet was great after cleaning. My tenant used Shiny Carpet Cleaning (receipt was provided to landlord) to clean the carpets upon moving out. The carpets don't even look like they were vacuumed- let alone steam cleaned. There is dirt in all of the corners, stains and an odor like they used dirty water. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and called to see if something was wrong or if they had to leave before the could complete the job- but when we left a message- our call was never returned. We had another company come in and clean the carpets and they look brand new- proving that the problem was not the carpets. I would never recommend this company- they do not get carpets clean and when you leave them a message- they don't respond- very unprofessional!! read more

Horrible Service! These guys were jerks. I bought the Groupon and scheduled the appointment for a day without giving me an exact time, however they promised to call me 3 hours in advance before coming to my house...they called me when they were at my door and then told me that if I wasn't there in 15 mins they would leave and take my Groupon Value. TOTAL JERKS!! Don't buy a Groupon for their services or they treat you horribly. read more

I made an appointment to get my carpet cleaned and was told that they could complete it between 8am and noon on Sunday (1/18). I called them at 9am to check on timing and I was told they were on another job and would be there in an hour and a half. Get a call at 11:40 telling me they would be here in 15 minutes and I told them don't bother. No apology...guy just said "It's not 12 yet". Maybe I should make another appointment and then cancel when they arrive, they owe me 4 hours back. Added 1/20/2015 at 12:00am: So by your own admission, we spoke at 9am, you told me you would be there in 1-2 hours and then called at 11:40am...not to say that you have arrived, but that you were on the way. As for your comment "If you can't understand English we can try to find different way. Just be careful next time when you are making schedule". Thanks for the advice. English is my native language, but clearly you are using a grammatical structure that I have not yet learned. read more

They left my carpet looking brand new! I've had my carpet for a couple of years and I was afraid they might not be able to get out the spills from parties past (and old), but they totally left it looking shiny! I absolutely love them and will be using their services again. read more

We just had our carpets cleaned again. They did a terrible job. They did not change water even once. So they've been cleaning the carpets with the same dirty water over and over. I didn't say anything as I thought they would maybe clean it with clean water later as we paid for deep cleaning. No, they just left. All the corners are still dry even though we moved all the furniture for easy access. Some stains are still here even though we paid for deep clean with stain removal. Oh, and when they got done, they walked around the condo in their shoes picking up their supplies! You just cleaned the carpets!!! And you are wearing your dirty shoes here! So now we are out if the money. We will have to pay somebody else to clean it again. And we will have to move all the furniture again. Awesome. You just lost a regular customer, Shiny Carpets. read more

Pretty decent clean and they were very quick (around 20-30 mins). I bought the groupon for $49 and had 1 bedroom and the hallway cleaned. Considering how bad the carpet was before, it looks pretty darn good now. There are still a few stains, but most of the others are gone and I'm sure if I had gotten a deep clean they would all be out. Even with a few stains still there, the carpet just feels so much cleaner, so it was definitely worth it regardless. They called well before they got there, arrived within the time frame given, and were able to answer all of my questions. Very good job. read more

Fast, reasonable and efficient! I must say I was most impressed with this company! I scored a Groupon for service. Called them to make an appointment and they were at my home by 9:30 AM the next morning!!! I paid to have upgraded services and was able to negotiate a room that I only wanted a small portion of the carpet cleaned in. The tech was fast and thorough and my carpet came out glorious! Mind you, I had been nursing a sick dog who couldn't keep anything down for two days!!!! So there were spits a plenty from that and her accidents otherwise. When the tech finished, there was no sign by my carpet that a dog lives here! read more

Really great company! I bought the groupon and was very impressed with the communication and service. They scheduled our appointment very quickly and we discussed the area to be cleaned and any additional costs (we wanted to add stairs to the groupon). The technician did not push any additional services or try and get us to pay extra, he already knew what we wanted and the costs were as expected. Our carpets were filthy and the technician was awesome; as he put it "the solution I am mixing up with either take out all the stains or your carpet is beyond saving". The carpets were great and we were able to impress our renter with the professionally cleaned carpets. Definitely recommend!!! read more

TRULY EXCEPTIONAL!! I had the same technician again. (I think his name is Mario). He is so professional. So quick. So good. The carpets look great. I bought a Living Social and had an absolutely awful experience. I should have know better. From the minute I first called for an appointment, the owner tried to up-sell me on the deep clean, which I neither wanted nor needed. When the technician arrived he refused to clean, telling me that only wall-to-wall carpeting was eligible not individual carpets (I asked if he had heard of magic carpets, and were they really wall to wall?) He wanted me to pay $96 dollars to clean a single 8X12 carpet. Would it have been OK i wondered if my 8X12 carpet had been in an 8X12 room? I paid for 900 square feet of cleaning, but obviously he just wanted to collect his fee from Living Social and then Up-sell. He was angry that I would not buy the deep clean services and I believe that is why he gave me a hard time about the rest. At the end of the day, I had him clean one carpet, which he did in five minutes and it looks no better than before he cleaned it. Needless to say I will never go near these dishonest business people again. read more

Great job. Did a LivingSocial deal, they were surprisingly courteous and responsive...and ON TIME. Paid the up charge for the "deep clean" for some particularly dirty areas. Would use them again without a daily deal. read more

I found a link to this carpet company through Google. They advertised 5 areas, up to 250 square feet each, for $59. When I called on the phone, they said it would be an extra $20 ($79 total) since we had stairs. They were able to clean our carpet the next morning, which was nice. The cleaner arrived for our appointment and explained since we had Berber carpet, we'd need to have "deep cleaning" not "steam cleaning". So, for our one room (12x18) and stair landing (3x5) and stairs, we were told it would be $40 per area (2 areas with the basement and landing) and $2 per stair. Our $79 deal for "up to 5 areas and stairs" ended up being $162. I think they should have asked for the type of carpet on the phone if it could more than double my price. Had I known, I would have called around. I had set a cap for myself, and I certainly wouldn't have paid $162 for 1 room and stairs. For that price, I could have gone with Stanley Steamers, which was $180 for a deep cleaning for 2 areas. But I wasn't told of the true price until he was standing in my living room. And I felt like I was being scammed; the advertised online price was just to get their foot in the door. This company uses a portable unit, but said it gets up to 200 degrees and 200 psi, which they assured me was enough to clean the carpet. There was only 1 guy, not a crew. I asked if he would move the two couches and clean under them and, after pausing, he said he would if someone helped him move the couches. I am glad I asked; I figured cleaning under couches was a given! When he asked for help to move the couch, he said I might want to grab a towel and dry off my hardwood floor, since he had gotten water on it while cleaning the stairs. To me, that was pretty unprofessional; he should have done that on his own and he should have had his own towels. He also didn't put the couches on styrofoam. I asked if there was anything we should do or avoid, and he said we could put our couches on some newspaper (newspaper?!?) if we had some. Or some plastic. read more

The service provider had come 1 month ago and spent almost 6 hours scrubbing every carpet in my house. I mean every carpet. Event throw rugs. And, it wasn't one of these "let's sprinkle dry crystals on your carpet and vacuum them back up" outfits. They had an honest to goodness industrial carpet steam machine. I watched as they emptied the dirty water each time they went over my carpets. These guys were absolutely fantastic. The carpets had never been cleaned before. The before an after was amazing. Even the pet odors were gone and I just got their standard service! It has been over a month and the carpets still look clean. I don't know how I lived in such slop before. The owner actually took me to one side and gave me tips on how to handle messes from my two cats. So thorough. I'm very pleased and would use again. read more

I just had work done at my place by Mario over the weekend and he did a fantastic job. I was not there personally, but my wife was and she explained to me how he did. He did not try to upsell anything and even said that he doesnt like to. We agreed to a price over the phone and it was the same price when Mario was done. Mario was very personable, professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. Not sure what else to say about a carpet cleaning company, but for the price and professionalism, we had to give it 5 stars. One thing that should be known. DO NOT buy the groupon if you want truly clean carpets., The gentleman on the phone explained this to us when we brought it up. The groupon only allows for hot water cleaning, theres no soap added. We were happy that he brought that up with us before Mario came out. Ill definitely be calling these guys up in another 6 months to have my carpets cleaned again! read more

I have 2 children and white carpet, so my house can get quite dirty. Instead of cleaning the carpet myself like I usually do, I decided I hire a professional. What a mistake. This is why: 1. I took 4 days for my carpets to dry. 2. My carpets actually looked worse after this company was done. 3. My house smelled musky for weeks after this "cleaning". 4. I used resolve after to make sure the stains were not permanent, and they came right out. 5. When I called to report my problems, they refused to give me back my money, but said that they would clean it again. (NO THANKS) Beware this company was awful. read more

Outstanding job from start to finish. My husband and I moved into our new home to find the floors were covered in a thick coat of dust and stains, which wasn't as noticeable during the walk-through when all the furniture was in place. We called Shiny Carpet and were amazed that they could squeeze us in with less than 2 days notice before our movers arrived with all our furniture. Ivan (sorry if I misspelled your name) was on time and very friendly and professional. Their prices are reasonable and he completed deep cleaning in 3 bedrooms and a den in no time at all. We were just so thankful to move our furniture onto a clean carpet for a fresh and seamless start. Go with this company and you won't have any regrets. read more
