Awesome J.

The food was the best Japanese food in Ohio. Our Service was top notch and our sever Blake was amazing. The place looks amazing. We had hibachi and our chef Uzi was funny. I came here for my birthday and you should to.

I've been a long time fan of Shintos back when the opened in Strongsville. This visit was amazing!!! It was packed at the hibachi tables so the manager John brought us to an amazing booth where he attended to absolutely every whim, need and request. He went above and beyond in every aspect. I've never had a bad Shintos dish, but John made every dish special. He even got me a dish that wasn't on the menu anymore. Reinvented my martini over and over until it was just right. Because of John and the entire experience Shintos isn't an option to return to; it is a must!

My wife and I have driven past this restaurant several times and wondered about it, but it took us about a year to finally try it out for date night. Last second and we didn't have any reservations. Luckily the high top tables and bar area had openings for walk in's. We both really enjoy good sushi and have tried a lot of places, so we weren't sure what quality we were going to get. Quick, nice, and attentive service from the waiter. He made me a custom drink based on what I like and my wife ordered off the menu. Both drinks were excellent and the drink menu had a lot of options I'd want to try in the future. For appetizers, we had the vegetable egg rolls and a beef plate. Both were great! We ordered 5 speciality sushi rolls. As you can see from the picture, we couldn't wait to take a picture first and dug in right away. Every roll had a really good range of flavors and taste. Fresh. Well made. With a wide variety on the menu. If you like sushi, it's very likely you'll enjoy this place. Highly recommended!

Rating 2.5 stars Wanted something light and quick to eat with my dinner and found this place on the map near by my hotel. This restaurant is huge and has parking space. I ordered via phone and it was so loud on the other end. Got spicy salmon roll $8.50 and yellowtail roll $7.75 for to go. Each order comes with 6 pieces. Food was ready sooner than expected. Fish seemed fresh enough but the portions were very small while the price was ridiculously high. 6 small pieces of roll for about $8 which is equivalent to about $1.50 a piece, that's insanely expensive!!

No service. Sad that you have to beg to get waited on. We came here to have drinks, appetizers, and dinners. It was early and not busy. Usually eating up at the bar you get fast friendly service. Food is great just wish the service was more attentive. Sometimes when you're not acknowledged you feel judged. My friend had to get up and get her to go box. People waiting for a table got drinks and service faster than the ones waiting for at least one bit of service. But the food is so delicious. Maybe next time take out.

I had a great experience here, went for a quick bite & sat at the bar. The place is pretty big with a fun vibe. The bartender was very nice & friendly. And food came out pretty fast - it was a Monday night. The fish was fresh and the dishes looked beautiful. I got salmon and also yellowtail hand roll, both were good. The salmon sashimi also came with good pieces of fish.

This was our second visit to Shinto. We loved it the first time and it certainly didn't disappoint this time. The young man we had as our server was very welcoming and very attentive, without being annoying. We ordered the Miso Surprise sushi roll as our starter. It was SUPER TASTY!!!! My husband had the Tuna Poke Bowl and I had the Steak and Shrimp Combination plate for our entrees. Both were delicious!!! And each entree has a very generous amount of food! I can't recommend Shinto Japanese Steak House enough!!!!

I've eaten & drank here several times since they opened; i can most certainly recommend their sushi (great presentation) , as well as their drinks (strong, and tasty), but the last time was our 1st time at the HIBACHI! btw- the general service throughout is very high quality, great service & ambiance. Anyhow, the flavors of the Hibachi are impressive; strongly recommend the Fried Rice, salad & any of the Chicken or Shrimp. It's not cheap, but i do think it's worth it !

The sweet potato roll was really delicious, and the other rolls came beautifully presented with dry ice, which made me excited even before tasting them. The place had fun music, friendly service, and beautiful presentation -- I really enjoyed the rolls. But I was a bit disappointed with the hibachi and other kitchen dishes; the chicken tasted more boiled than grilled, and the noodles lacked flavor.

Incredible dance behind the scenes of the team making this food. Incredible meal. Not inexpensive, but excellent. Everything was delicious. Like I said, wasn't inexpensive but it was delicious. However happy hour is very reasonable, $6 Manhattans and inexpensive wine. A couple of items on the menu if you're a meat eater are happy hour reasonable. Highly recommended for a high-end treat. I decided to go with one of two options for the "Reason" which included a 12oz bone in steak, veggies, potato's and crab claw for $90. Overall the dish was a solid 6/10 for myself Steak: 10/10 good flavor and charred perfectly Veggies: cooked perfect and seasoned Potato: Unsure the flavor profile exactly but very lemon forward, good for some I'm sure but I was not a fan. Crab: This was the real bummer, for the $90 price tag I was hoping for a bit more than a spoonful of meat. Taste wise it was great, but left me wanting more. Overall a fantastic place and experience, will be back for sure!

I ordered the Crispy Brussels and she selected the Roasted Garlic Whipped Mascarpone. The pasta was delicious. And so were the Brussels. The Whipped Mascarpone was OK, although both of us thought the combination of the cheese, garlic, lemon, and pretzel crackers were a little too much. Both thought the garlic was too forward, and the mascarpone would have been better with just the lemon and/or perhaps with a touch of honey...even hot honey. The portions were all huge and we each took an additional meal home. Ordered coffee to end the evening and were delighted that they came as French Press coffee rather than just regular brewed. The venue is very nice albeit quite loud. Conversation was challenging, but manageable. We will be back.

I especially loved the whipped fig honey butter. For my entree, I got the Thai spicy chicken sandwich and it was sooo good. I wanted to finish it but I think I filled up on too much bread lol. I felt like the fries didn't really add anything to it and were a bit plain and meh. I liked the fingerling potatoes a lot more. Their desserts are amazing. I chose the hazelnut tart and it was creamy and delicious. My boyfriend got the cheese ice cream plate and I thought it was so cute and unique!

I highly recommend making reservations. The white-linen tables, cloth napkins, and impeccable service create a warm and intimate dining atmosphere. To start, I ordered the calamari, which was delightful--delicately fried and perfectly crispy. It was delicious on its own but elevated by two dipping options: a sweet and tangy Thai chili sauce and a creamy aioli. I also enjoyed the wedge salad, layered with flavor thanks to the bacon and blue cheese crumbles. For the main course, I ventured off menu and ordered the evening's special: Chilean sea bass over gnocchi with a beurre blanc sauce. The fish was beautifully prepared--tender, buttery, and truly melt-in-your-mouth. To finish the evening, I enjoyed a classic Old Fashioned, a smooth and fitting close to a memorable dining experience.

The facility is far bigger than I thought it would be. They have a central restaurant with multiple party centers on either side. It's a really BIG facility. New, modern, and quite attractive. With plenty of convenient parking. The wall of the restaurant that faces Cleveland Hopkins Airport is all glass. It affords you quite an impressive view of the airport and the planes landing. The staff we met was pleasant and efficient. Our server, Mina, did an excellent job all night. If there was a weak point, it would be the food. It was not bad (I'm trying to be kind); it was just uninspired, limited, and not really well prepared. Because they do not offer bread for the table our only option was to order the "Soft Pretzel". It arrived badly overcooked, crunchy not soft, and even boardering on burnt. The charcuterie board was OK, but uninspired. I ordered the "Lemon Chicken" which was a full half chicken in a reasonably good sauce. But the meat was dry and it came only with brussel sprouts (yuk!). My wife had the "Walleye" which she simply said was "okay"... oh well. Our guests weren't any more impressed than we were. I will say our coffee and "Pot de Creme" were very good... thank goodness. All in all, our overall experience was "meh"... just "meh". Sorry - really probably should be 3.5

We dropped in for Happy Hour, looking for cocktails and a few bites, and were immediately struck by the well-appointed space. The runway views at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport added an unexpected layer of entertainment--watching planes take off and land while toasting 14 years of marital bliss felt like the perfect backdrop. We started strong with a French 75 and an Old Fashioned--both expertly crafted, but that Old Fashioned? Smooth, balanced, and memorable enough to set the tone for the entire evening. Wednesday happens to be Wing Day ($2 whole wings), and we took full advantage. We sampled Buffalo, Sweet & Tangy BBQ, Lemon Pepper Dry Rub, and the undeniable star of the show: Garlic Parmesan. Each had its own personality, but that Garlic Parmesan was simply elite. Service was impeccable--Emily was attentive without being intrusive, making sure our experience flowed as effortlessly as the cocktails. Speaking of which, round two brought a Cosmo alongside a repeat of that Old Fashioned...because when you find the right note, you stay in that key. For food, we shared the French Dip Baguette--shaved prime rib, provolone, horseradish aioli, and au jus done right--and paired it with the Mega Crunch Fries, elevated with sea salt, rosemary, and a light truffle oil drizzle. Simple menu items, executed with intention. We closed the evening the same way we began--together, with one final round of Old Fashioneds. A Happy Hour well spent. A celebration well honored. A 14-year journey still taking off.

Atmosphere was a wood, rustic, whiskey barrel feel and the food was great. Came back this year, and it was probably the most brutal restaurant experience I've had in a while. So Char is now called Avo Mexican, but they didn't change the atmosphere to replicate a Mexican place. It's still whiskey themed- with signs slapped on the old logo. They still have some of the old menu items from Char- which is so confusing too. When we walked in I asked the host if the bar was open seating. He said "oh I don't know" and walked away. We just sat at the bar since he didn't come back. We asked the Bartender what happened to Char and he said the owners wanted a rebrand. But it looked like a whiskey bar still....they didn't rebrand anything. I got a marg and my guy asked for a Mexican beer they used to have. Bartender said we haven't had that in a year. So they got rid of all their Mexican beers....? Even though they are now a Mexican place? So he ended up getting a Coors Light. My Marg lacked any sweetness or Agave. It was tequila and lime juice- poor bartender was struggling with 4 bar guests. It was kinda sad. I got a taco salad and my guy got a burger. He used to get the burger with fries, but now that it's Mexican, they only have chips. We had chips and guac for an app, so that was super annoying. Fries used to be really good. And who wants a burger without fries? Place wasn't busy, but our food took 35 minutes. Bartender kept apologizing and saying the kitchen was slammed. It clearly wasn't, I'm sure the cooks were adjusting to a new menu. Food was okay. Used to be really good, but I wouldn't recommend anymore. I guess they close at 8pm some days, because around 7:40 when we just had gotten our food, the bartender said it's last call. We were kinda laughing that they did a last call during normal dinner hours. My fiancé was considering getting another beer after dinner, but I guess they were closing...so weird. I've never seen a place close at peak dinner hours. No idea why they rebranded it. Confusing signage, food is not good anymore, drinks are bad, atmosphere doesn't make sense, menu is lackluster, service and kitchen are lacking, hours are bad. Sucks to write this, but I 100% will not be returning.
