I was first turned on to Shinola by my husband - He's a big watch guy and sure does love a Shinola! Shinola is a luxury watch brand with its home store located in Detroit in a gorgeous historic building. The company has quality craftsmanship and each product is designed and built in a handmade production. Not only do they offer STUNNING watches, Shinola also has Leather Goods, Bicycles, Clocks, Lifestyle Accessories, Journals {which can be custom printed/monogrammed - and makes the perfect gift}, Wallets & Handbags {I already have my eye on a beautiful Hobo bag} and so much more. Yes, we've ordered a few products off the website {and purchased in the now closed Palo Alto location}, but this review is for the San Francisco location. Located on Hotaling Place, there will be plenty of street parking on the surrounding blocks {use the Pay By Phone parking app}. The building itself is located on a narrow road in the Historic Whiskey Warehouse - It's a Gorgeous store! The shop will typically have an opening to enter into the Filson store as well but because of Covid restrictions, you do have to enter/exit from each store individually. The team is taking every Covid-19 precaution: Limited access into the store, Hand sanitizing station located at the entrance and around the store, The team walking around wiping down surfaces, Masks worn by all guests & team members as well as all products sanitized before and after they are touched/tried on. Speaking of the team, they are all so fantastic at this location! It is always service with a smile and service that goes above and beyond most retail experiences. They allow you to shop and browse around the store and they all have an extensive knowledge of the products should you have any questions. They also make the check out process super easy and provide beautiful complimentary gift-wrapping if needed. Way to go, Shinola - Fab service each and every time I'm in the store! If you are in the market for a new watch or some amazing hand crafted luxury goods - Shinola is a great place to start! And if I'm ever in the Detroit area, I am booking a room at the Shinola Hotel!

I recently went to Shinola Detroit in San Francisco. There are 27 branches. On the West Coast there are two branches, one in San Francisco & two in Los Angeles including Venice & the LA Arts District. Shinola has several products on offer from bicycles, bags, watches, & notebooks. Being a longtime vegan unfortunately all the bags are leather as avoid leather products yet they are high quality bags. I especially loved their notebooks that are similar to moleskine notebooks. The notebooks are various sizes & are high quality available in both lined along with unlined pages. Notebooks were priced at $25 or so. All the products available at the store are assembled in Detroit. McCoy on the sales floor provided excellent customer service. I look forward to returning!

Great helpful staff, made me feel comfortable with my purchase. Location is easy to find, so Is parking and I just love their watches. They offer Fiji or shinola cola while you're waiting to get your watch sized. I purchased the birdy model, metal strap, thin band, good n silver to go with all gold and silver accessories that I own and I'm so impressed with the details. I did dish out 570$ after tax and I am happy supporting American well made products.

Premature failure of $100 rubber watch band. Says customer service: there is no warranty on watch bands. Says I: at the insane price of $100 for a rubber watch band, my expectation of high quality is totally justified. FAIL.

ALLBIRDS MOVED NEXTDOOR. There is no longer a pop up shop inside Shinola. It ended in January. You can find their concept store in the same alleyway open Mon-Fri. Shinola is a beautiful store, if you have a second make sure to come inside and check out the beautiful products. Their brand-new product the Runwell Turntable has incredible sound and a elegant aesthetic.

Shinola has a great story behind their brand. Based in Detroit Michigan and their mission is to keep manufacturing jobs here in US. I've seen their watches online, but was really blown away when I saw their collection of vintage style bikes. They're truly a piece of art. The craftsmanship and design is unparalleled. If you get a chance and your'e strolling through Jackson Square, definitely worth stopping in and checking out this flagship store. It's tucked away in a little alley entrance and has a charming outdoor area. You can get monograms printed into leather goods in store, and heard that they also host some interesting classes from whiskey to chocolate tasting events. In a world of newness and technology, Shinola creates beauty and quality from a bygone area. We need more companies and brands like this. Bravo Team Shinola!

Beautiful inside. Love that it also has pop-up shops inside like Salt & Straw and Allbirds.

Disapointing anyways, this store has some 'designer' level clothing at varying prices that very wildly. Buying a 100 dollar pair of somewhat gothic style pants, the original owner guy I purchased from was kind of cool. we chatted things up, he kind of gave me some pointers for sf fashion spots, talked to me about some of the other items around the shop (including a 1000 dollar concealable leather pouch). I usually like to give things time... evaluate places before sticking with them... so opting to wait on anything else... I make a trip to japan (where I purchased another gothic style pants from the yellow house... which were even more disappointing that Ceiba. Details are in the review I made for them). Also, mind you, both pants are elastic and the material is a little thick, they were both very comfortable. after coming back, I had to get both pants repaired. the ceiba pants I've had to have repaired twice (but it still has more damage on it that I haven't gotten repaired. the pockets are falling apart for one) now while the japanese yellow house pants I've had to have repaired 3 times now. It's rare that I need to have my clothes repaired... mostly its seams coming undone and I can usually fix those myself.... usually... but these were more that the fabric was giving out. the seams were strong but the pants were fraying or giving out around the seams. I cant just sew that back in. I've gone to Ceiba twice to try to talk to them about the material, the pants, repairs... and just to find solutions. the first time for them to give me advice on to handle it myself... and the second time, after SEVERAL times having to pay to get them fixed, to see if maybe the item was just bad or something and finding more vendor and patron solutions. both times it was a woman this time and both times she could not help. I do not recommend people come here for clothes, its a nice name place to show off a bit and pretend to be more socioeconomically established but little more than that.
