One of the best mainstream beers of the world. They've been at it over 100 years and it tastes like it. Independent to the last drop.

It was a nice, hot, muggy day! We enjoyed the BBQ, the beer, and the cocktails. I don't drink beer (but if I did I'm sure it would be Shiner beer) so I was glad to see they had a distillery with pretty much a full bar. Three of us took the tour, which was fascinating! The AC was not working well in some parts of the building that day so part of the tour, we were sweating quite a bit during parts of it because it was a hot day. The BBQ (lean brisket and sausage) was good but their sauce was a bit watery/bland. I believe the spirits were also made by the same people but I haven't seen that brand in other stores before. I had a paloma (they don't have grapefruit soda so it was just made with ruby red grapefruit juice and vodka with some soda water) and a spicy margarita. Both were good but tasted different than a typical vodka or tequila drink to me. The friends I went with have gone there several times and said the drinks/cocktails seemed watered down this time didn't taste the same as they usually do so we wondered if they had changed their spirits or the measurements. I guess I'll have to go back again some day and see if they've gone back to their usual drink recipes!

This is a nice little day trip away from San Antonio…read more A quick, lovely, scenic drive leads you to this huge backyard! Open space with lots of seating and enough yard for kids to play and throw footballs (some kids don't realize their aim/catching skill level so beware if you're sitting close to the activity). We booked the distillery tour which was a fun and educational activity. You also get to sample the spirits and walk away with souvenir bag. There's a nice big bar area outside with snacks, you can also order food and more substantial snacks through the restaurant. There is also a nice gift shop with lots of goodies. Everything was yummy. Especially the pretzels. I didn't know I could love pretzels that much! Service was friendly. Definitely a nice way to spend the day off you want to get away.

It's built inside a historic garage, and you can still see the brewing equipment from the taproom, which gives the place a cool industrial feel. Plenty of indoor seating, a nice patio, and it just feels like somewhere you could hang out for a few hours. I ordered the SMASH Burger and made it a double. That was my mistake. The burger itself was excellent, hot, fresh, juicy, and cooked just right, but my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach. The single would have been the perfect size for me. No complaints about the food at all. The beer was delicious too. They had a wide variety of lagers, IPAs, sours, and even a barrel-aged stout, so there was something for just about everyone. I appreciate breweries that don't make everything an IPA. Overall, I was really impressed. What started as an unplanned stop because of a billboard turned into one of the highlights of the drive. If you're passing through Columbus, Hound Song is absolutely worth pulling off the highway for.

There were plenty of drink options to choose from, and the menu definitely caught our attention, which is what brought us in. We started with the nachos with beef. They were pretty good overall, though the Velveeta-style cheese wasn't our favorite. The meat lovers pizza was a hit -- thin crust, well-cooked, and full of flavor. The main reason we came was for the chicken wings, and unfortunately, those were a bit disappointing and left us wanting more. However, the owner personally came over to apologize and explained that those were not the wings they normally serve. He even comped us $10 in cash, which was a very appreciated and classy gesture. The staff was friendly throughout our visit, and because of how the situation was handled, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and plan to come back again to let them redeem themselves.

It was a good burger, but not my favorite. The bun was a bit hard and the meat was a little tough. On a high note, they did pack it high, lots of bacon on it. The fries were excellent! Staff were nice. We'd come back.

Brazos is one of these breweries. The beers are fun to try!! I genuinely looked forward to trying everything. I guess I've been to so many breweries, they start to run together and feel lackluster. This is the one to have broke me out of that cycle. My favorites were the Lemon Kolsch and the Hefeweizen. Boy oh boy was the Hefeweizen delicious, this place does it well. My hat goes off to these brewers.

Line was long but the ladies were patient in taking orders. Smaller orders came out fast and the pretzel was the best deal there. Easy to find tables inside and outside was a bit of a gamble because the sun was fierce but there was a nice breeze. Big kids play area in a field so far from the tables. 50% of the people were watching their kids which I was not impressed by. You don't get a vacation from parenting. Hot food from the food trailer took a bit to come out but the girl back there was working her butt off. The orders were coming in in large amounts because groups of people kept showing up. Overall a nice place and well maintained.
