On the hunt for a new cleaners/tailor... I landed on Shine for my tailoring of jeans. I really wanted to have a one stop for all my needs; however $3.00 is a little excessive for a laundered shirt. When first arriving you will fine Shine tucked away in a run down strip mall. I entered the cleaners and was immediately greeted by the friendly woman (Sook) who welcomed me with a smile and asked how she could help. I told her I was in need of tailoring and wanted to know the price of jeans, and she told me it would be $10 for a plain bottom stitch. I felt that was a reasonable price and obliged to hand the work done. Sook pulled a curtain to a make shift fitting room. She quickly/ individually marked all three pairs. She asked me when I needed them, and I told her no rush. I returned on Christmas Eve in the morning to have my three pants perfectly altered... not only that she had a present ready... a lint roller! Great touch for a first time customer. I definitely would return for any of my tailoring needs, if only they would lower the price for their laundered shirts.. Great work !!! read more

I had two dresses and a skirt altered here and a fur trim coat and a skirt dry cleaned as well. The coat came back perfect and the small stain on the side was gone. The dresses were both hemmed very neatly and the skirt was hemmed from a knee length secretary style skirt to a mini skirt and fits perfectly. I've been coming to this cleaners for years now. I totally recommend this cleaner in bringing your regular or expensive items to dry clean. There are reasonable with their prices they are not expensive like other cleaners. I have taken very expensive items and they have done a fabulous job . They have extended hours so they close at 7 p.m. during the week and are open on Saturdays. The staff is very friendly and greet you with a smile. My boyfriend had been on a search for the perfect pants for years. He finally decided that the Carhartt double knee work pant (2 pair) was the winner. He is short and muscular (bigger butt), so normal pants for him usually need some tailoring - at least a hem. These Carhartts are made of heavy fabric and have many seams - so they are difficult to work with. They fit correctly on the waist and hips, really wide and long on legs when new. He took them to another tailor that tailored them down by creating a seam on the back(?). They also did not fit correctly. My man was bummed. My boyfriend did not give up on his dream pants and found Shine Cleaners. The tailor made them fit EXACTLY how he wanted - although they said it was weird that the other tailor made seams on the backs of the legs. The pants fit so perfect that he doesn't mind the imperfections from the previous tailor... and he's a VERY picky dresser. I would highly recommend Shine Cleaners for tailoring. If they can make my boyfriend's Carhartt double knee work pants look SO good, they can do ANYTHING :) read more

really glad i found this place. i had a friend in town who is super duper picky! he had a suede jacket plus some other stuff that needed cleaning -- he took it here and he insisted to me this was the best place to go. he's from texas. i don't know how he found this place when he doesn't even live here and i never knew about it! but anyhoo... have been here a few times. i don't have much to dry clean 'cause i'm a slob (kind of sort of...) so i just don't buy like office clothes that i have to act so perfectly in! I'm petite and my clothes often need to be hemmed and altered. I've had A LOT of dresses and jumpsuits altered here in the last two years and they always turn out perfect and the prices are decent. The staff is wonderful and Sook is the BEST. Two days prior to a holiday weekend, I dropped off 5 garments to be altered and requested that one of them to be ready by that Saturday. I mentioned that I would be out of town for over a week and would pick up the rest of the clothes in two weeks. However, that Saturday they were all ready to go and Sook also waited 2-3 hours for me to come by (I didn't realize they were closing early). I felt really bad for inconveniencing her but also super grateful for her kind customer service. read more

I have some fancy dress shirts that became stained in the underarms due to deodorant, despite wearing an undershirt. The owner Sue wasn't certain that the stains could be removed but said that she'll try. When I picked up my shirts they looked practically new with all stains removed! Fantastic! I don't believe they advertise this, but the owner informed me their cleaning process is organic which is a big plus. read more

I drive from the South Bay to come here for alterations. The lady is so sweet and very efficient. I recently got a bridesmaid dress hemmed for $25. I told her I'd pick up the dress in a week, but ended up being in Hollywood a few days later. I called her to ask if the dress was ready by any chance, and was able to pick it up the day of without having to make another trip. Absolutely ruined an alteration on jeans. Went in for a hemming. Like them a little long. She took a measurement. Perfect. Picked them up and WOW, what happened to the measurement we took??? They're two inches above my ANKLE. NO JOKE. So what happened? "Measurement." BS. I didn't ask for high waters. Now I'm out 200$ on a brand new pair of jeans. Thanks LADY! Never again.
