The sushi and Sashimi are fresh and nicely prepared. The service staff are very attentive (highlight of our visit). We also had drunken noodles that was very delicious. However, I feel like the BOGO Half off for Sushi is not the best offer in town. I would stop by Sushi Love on Erwin Rd. if you're fresh and tasty BOGO sushi.

Well. I haven't been here since the height of this place's glory days it seems. It's mostly the skeletal remains of what it used to be. And maybe rightly so. We went for sushi but the prices are so elevated now we didn't get sushi. I used to love their udon but that wasn't an option. We were not greeted nor welcomed in upon entry despite 2 hosts and there was an ominous figure on the right glaring at customers. We got a poke bowl and the miso ramen. They were - ok... the soup was luke warm with a tangled mat of noodles. The broth was ok but didn't taste much like traditional miso. The poke bowl was the best thing we ordered. The restaurant was virtually empty at lunch on a Saturday and yet it was a very long wait for us to get our food. Our server was nice but I won't go out of my way to come again.

Solid sushi place with a great variety of rolls! Also gotta get the crispy rice! Soooo good. Service is good and plenty of space and noise level is not bad at all! Full bar which is nice!!

Still a great place for groups, still casually elegant. I arrived around 5 on a rainy Tuesday, and set at the bar. Service is immediate and friendly, even after the velocity picked up. Silent TVs above the bar (not huge, but not tiny) had everything from sports news to a Bob Ross episode. The background music is not immediately slamming, but I didn't hear anything that wasn't released while I was in high school. Sly Stone, Temptations, Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin - it was a Motown minute for sure!! Loved it all! There a section of the menu with 6- and 8- piece rolls that are BOGO if you buy a drink. That's my go-to, and it didn't disappoint. Rainbow roll and a Shiki Crunch (shrimp tempura, avocado, topped with eel sauce and crunchies - yum!!) The one thing missing from the cocktail menu is a gin-based drink. The Cucumber Mint Mojito was great, but subbing gin for the vodka would make it a better balance for those who don't want sweet drinks. If I didn't have to drive home, I'd try it!

It's been a while since I've been here, after all these years this place it's still one of the best in town. Looks like they've done some updates to the inside. Everything here is good but they have some of the best sushi. Too many rolls to say which ones are the best but some great options to share with friends or a great date night. Excellent food and service here. We went with a large group and the servers were very attentive. Also, the BOGO half off for 2 sushi rolls is an amazing deal!! We started with the spring rolls (yum) and finished with the Florida and San Francisco rolls. My partner said it was some of the best sushi he's ever had!

So, I decided to treat myself to a birthday lunch at this lovely restaurant I found on the AA site, thinking, "Why not indulge in some culinary magic?" The place had a charming red and white ambiance that made me feel like I was dining in a fancy candy cane factory, and the staff were so friendly, I half expected them to bring me a birthday cake with a marching band. Now, picture this: right behind us was a family with a child who seemed to have mistaken the restaurant for a playground. This little tornado of chaos was causing more mischief than a cat in a room full of laser pointers! At one point, I thought I might have to hire a referee to restore peace at our lunch date. But fear not! The lemon drop drink was so good it felt like a party in my mouth, and the food? Amazing! I was practically doing a happy dance in my seat (which was a little awkward considering the child behind me was now trying to reenact a scene from a superhero movie). Hibachi has officially become my new favorite dish, and I can't wait to come back for more! Just maybe not on a day when the restaurant is hosting the next generation of Olympic gymnasts.

The food was excellent. I had the crab rangoon, that's coconut soup with shrimp and the ultimate and shrimp and scallop rolls. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was inviting. Slightly cold but the warm soup made up for it :-)

Bento box and ( blue crab roll, dynamite) BOGO 6-piece rolls
    Jonathan L.

This place offers a lot of options of food but not really ones I'd consider traditional sushi options, offering stuff like General Tso's Chicken etc. I got the Buy One Get One roll package so tried the dynamite and the blue crab roll. I didn't really see or taste the blue crab and tasted mostly rice. The dynamite was okay but it was lacking any strong flavors. Also got the bento box with sesame chicken but it felt overly sauced and not really tasty. Not sure if I would come again.

    Bagel **TEMPURA STYLE**
    Jenny D.

Nice people at the front, don't know too much about the items on the menu but still asked the cooks specific questions for me. I have a shellfish allergy but love sushi and so I came here on a whim. They have a fish tank but lights weren't on. Looks clean, I came in for take out primarily. At 12pm order was placed and waited for about 22 mins for the BOGO sushi 8pc "Bagel". Sauce is additional cost of 50c which kinda sucks. The bagels are OK but I guess the tempura really throws it off. Next time I probably wouldn't ask for it to be dipped in tempura. This is one of their only options for cooked salmon sushi from what I understand. Because it was fried I'm not sure if it is necessarily nonallergenic I guess I'll find out if I blow up like a balloon in the next hour. Overall decent place and fast service.

    Orange Peel Chicken

I'd probably go back to Shiki Sushi! But I would NOT order the fried rice! The ambiance here is really good. The restaurant looks really clean to me. I doubt they'd ever run out of tables because the restaurant is huge. There are lots of booths! But they also have regular tables. The service was also pretty good. The food was good in general. I liked the sushi. I really liked the orange peel chicken. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the vegetables seems fresh. However, I hated the fried rice. I couldn't really see any vegetables in the fried rice. But the bigger problem was that it tasted so strongly like bad fake butter. The butter flavor was all I could taste or smell. It was so strong! Truly the worst fried rice I've ever had. And that was strange because the other food was so good!

    Side "1" seating area

Pleasantly Surprised! Stopped here while on the road between Wilmington and Greensboro, we make the trip frequently and Will keep trying places hoping will find a good "halfway" food stop that is healthy! Outside it is not super impressive, almost looks like a Chinese buffet from the outside... But when you go inside it is shockingly different! There are probably 100 tables, plenty of seating for busy nights! The bar area is huge and I can imagine that this place on a Friday or Saturday night is probably a hotspot. During our Thursday afternoon drive though, it was relatively quiet. Food service was extremely fast. Wait staff is in short supply and there are signs everywhere that let you know this, so it can be a few minutes before someone gets to you or in between drink service and ordering. Paul was our server and he was absolutely amazing, worth well over the 20% standard tip! Not only is he apologetic about any wait, he is extremely knowledgeable about the food they serve and ingredients. He knows what to recommend depending on your taste as well. We had the chicken lettuce wraps, fabulous... The pork and chicken Gyoza deep-fried... Again, fabulous... And hubby had to sushi rolls and said they were fresh and delicious! Usually not an important factor but I will say that the hot tea here is stupendous, they do looseleaf traditional style in a tea pot, and the ginger peach was divine! The restaurant is clean, and walking past the prep area everything looked clean as well. Bathrooms decently clean. Overall this was a gem of a find and will be our new regular stop on road trips!

The rolls looked pretty nice when they came out -- colorful with different toppings, sauces drizzled on top, and some green onions. The fish tasted fresh enough and the rice was okay, not too hard or mushy. But honestly, the flavors were just average. Some rolls were a bit too sweet from the sauce, others a little salty from the roe. It was creative, but nothing that really blew me away. The place has a nice warm wooden table vibe and the lighting is good for photos. Service was quick, no long wait. Price-wise, it felt a little expensive for Durham -- four rolls and we weren't super impressed with the value. It was fine for a casual meal, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back just for the sushi. Might try something else next time or their omakase to see if it's better.

Not so positive: parking can be tough, the lot is always packed. I think it is a shared lot because the restaurant was pretty empty during my visit today. i have visited twice now (jan 2026 & may 2026) and i order a decent amount of food for the table to share. Both times, every plate has been room temperature. Thats super disappointing especially since the Korean dishes we ordered are typically served very hot (and in clay pots). It would be fine if my food was even remotely warm, but that hasnt been the case for either of my visits. Our food took a very long time to come out, which would have also been fine had the food came out hot, so i am wondering why it took so long to send out cold food? Also, for some reason there was a strong odor of some sort permeating through the beer hall. I couldnt place what it was but it was not pleasant for me. I feel like i am rarely sensitive to smells but i had to spritz a perfume to mask it. It might've just been a cleaning product or something, not sure. Something to note is that you have to pay for the banchan here. This is typically served with your meals for no additional cost as they are considered 'essential' to your meal. So a charge for them was surprising for me.

My favorite courses of the meal were the FIRST "seabass sammie" and the brie tempura (get the add on if it's not included in your menu!!!!) Some of the courses were interactive (I.e. cooking lobster in butter) and made for a cool, fun, and unique experiences.
