I am extremely disappointed with this primary care office. The doctor is consistently disrespectful toward patients and unwilling to provide even basic help or answers to simple medical questions. Every request is met with resistance, suspicion, or refusal. She appears more concerned about protecting her license than actually helping her patients, which makes no sense when patients are simply asking for basic care--not anything illegal or inappropriate. As a primary care doctor, answering basic questions and assisting patients should be part of the job. Instead, she questions everything, dismisses concerns, and refuses to help unless something strictly requires her signature. This creates an uncomfortable and frustrating environment for patients who are simply seeking care. The office staff makes the experience even worse. The front office manager is extremely rude and unprofessional. The physician assistant is also disrespectful and unhelpful. Phone calls are often unanswered, and when someone does pick up, staff members are rude, talk over you, or even yell. All they seem to care about is collecting co-pays and billing insurance, not patient care. The only positive person in this entire office is Mina, the Front receptionist. She is kind, respectful, and genuinely willing to help. Unfortunately, she is the only one. My wife and I have both been treated disrespectfully, and after this experience, we will never return. I strongly advise others to choose a different doctor--one who actually listens, respects patients, and is confident enough to provide care without fear. I've never had such a disappointing experience with a doctor. I recently moved to OC and chose Dr. Saam after researching holistic-leaning providers. Before my appointment, I signed paperwork stating that discussing anything "outside" an annual wellness visit could result in extra charges. Staff assured me repeatedly that I wouldn't be billed for anything additional since I was just there for my yearly physical. The doctor saw me for about two minutes - asked my age, listened to my heart, and left. There was no physical exam, no real discussion about my health, and no guidance about next steps. She sent me to get bloodwork and told me she was just running routine tests covered by insurance, but she added additional tests (like checking vitamin D) without my consent. This cost me more out of pocket, and I am now left with about a $70 bill for what should have been routine, fully covered bloodwork. She also sent me for an ultrasound at a clinic without explaining any cost implications. I ended up paying $900 out of pocket. Previously, I've always had doctors explain costs before ordering expensive tests, so I expected the doctor to have my best interest in mind and give me a heads-up. I felt blindsided and like the office prioritized billing over patient care. Even one staff member quietly told me that I wasn't the only patient who walked out feeling this way, which made me realize this isn't just my experience. Weeks later, I received a bill for an additional "office visit," despite the doctor spending almost no time with me and never performing a full physical. When some labs came back slightly abnormal, the office called briefly to share results and billed each call as an office visit. I left feeling like I received no meaningful care, was rushed through the process, and was billed for services I never knowingly agreed to. I now have to go back to my previous doctor an hour away just to get a proper physical for the year. I hope the office corrects the unnecessary charges. Every time I call the receptionist, I feel like I am getting scolded by Lizeth. Today I called because the paperwork they sent for my grandma had a mistake. Instead of apologizing, or sympathizing, Liz was extremely rude. It seems like every time I call, instead of the receptionist goal being to help me, her goal is to hang up the phone as fast as she can. From the tone of her voice to her diction, it makes for a very unpleasant experience. I also work in healthcare and I know how busy and hard it can be. However, there is no reason to talk so demeaning and rude to a patient who may already be stressed. A kind demeanor can really go along way and can really make or break a patients experience. I am tired of experiencing this every single time I call. I hope there is a change of energy within the office. The doctor herself is very nice and good at her work. It's such a shame that her work is often overshadowed by the condescending attitude of her front desk staff. read more

I haven't been for a physical in over 4 years. Front desk staff was extremely nice and friendly, the nurse who went over the initial questions was great as well. Dr Saam was absolutely wonderful. I basically dumped all my issues on her and she was very understanding and gave me the referrals I need in order to get check ups going. She got me in first thing the next morning for a full blood panel. Both appointments, I didn't wait more than 5 minutes. I was in and out in 30 minutes both times. I went to Dr. Saam probably a year ago as a new patient for general care. Everyone in the office was very kind and Dr. Saam was wonderful. She listened to all my concerns (& I have a lot! lol) She was patient and gave me referrals for everything I needed. She is caring, educated and I am happy I chose her for my general care. I also saw NP (forgive me-I am not sure if I have her name correct) NP Prisa???!! I am so sorry I am not sure if that is her name but I will say she was also very friendly and caring. I have been meaning to write a review for awhile now and just noticed some reviews were not too good lately! I am shocked because I can't see anyone in this office being rude. Even the woman that took my blood for labs was wonderful. I only had one other appointment with this office and once again they were great! I change insurance and I have been looking for a new PCP. I went there expecting to be seen by Dr. Saam, but I end up being seen by a nurse practitioner(NP)... Not the ideal for what I was looking for but I let it be and I told her my problem that I need help with. When I questioned about the doctor, she came in, introduce herself, and told me she would be next door if I need anything... I could tell she is working on growing her practice by giving patients to other health practitioners under her. I felt manipulated, but I let it go. I understand business entrepreneurship and she is growing her team. The NP was attentive and professional and said she was going to order lab work before she would discuss a treatment plan for my problem. I felt heard and hopeful. After 1 week of receiving my lab work, and not hearing from the NP or the doctor, I call to find out when I could make an appointment... the receptionist said to me: " there is a note on your chart that your lab results are not so bad, that the nurse or the doctor usually don't call for those cases... really? So, if I'm not dying I don't have an appointment to go over my issue? What about the treatment plan I'm expecting to discuss with the NP? Yes, Dr. Saam called later that day and left a message to reinforce that my results were not a big deal and usually they don't really go over with the patients on those cases, but she was willing to discuss them with me... I appreciate that she tries calling me to "accommodate" my need to go over the lab with the doctor... really? So If I didn't ask, or got upset, I would just have to become another number for insurance billing, frustrated with the healthcare system, and accepting doctors' practices like hers. There is an attitude/culture behind this medical practice that is not what I'm looking for in a PCP doctor. Maybe she is excellent if you have a complicated case! I can't tell! read more

It's a blessed for me to find this angle in this world. It is not easy to find a doctor who considers the patient more than her own benefits and spends time for the patient with all her heart. I have been with Doctor for approximately 3 years now. She has taken care of all my needs. She prefers not to give drugs but to treat in more healthy ways. This is why I originally chose her as my doctor. Occasionally we talk back and forth about what each one of us thinks might be good for me. We come to a mutual decision. Today I asked for something specific which initially she was not in favor of. We sat down together and looked at the comparison numbers and when I gave more information about how I really live my life including hard sports, we came to a mutual agreement which was actually better than what I had asked for. What I expect from doctor and what I get are that I be advised right away of anything I need to do (results of tests) and when I ask for a serious conversation in person that she takes the time to listen to me and evaluate what I say. This has been my experience from day one. I also really like that she has someone in the office to take the blood so that I don't have to travel around because I'm a nervous driver.
