Dr. Chang is a phenomenal doctor. He's dedicated, caring, and efficient. He always listens to any concerns I may have and takes them seriously, and he never hesitates to refer me to a specialist when needed. I also appreciate that he has walk-in hours available for emergencies so you're not waiting for weeks (or even days) when you have an emergency or need to see the doctor urgently. (I've even had to schedule an urgent pre-op appointment and they worked really hard to make it work with my limited timeline and the doctor's limited availability). His front desk is also really great. If I need something, I don't need to ask for any specific person, they all know how to handle questions, cases, and concerns. Truly, they are great at what they do and they're incredibly efficient. When I ask for a referral or let them know about a concern, I know I don't have to follow-up and I will be hearing from the doctor or the office SOON. I even had a more urgent case that I wanted dealt with as quickly as possible, so I called and got the office's email and sent them the necessary paperwork before my specialist did and I had a referral and follow-up material within 24 hours. When you have lab tests, tests or xrays in general, or anything that requires your attention, someone will call and follow-up and update you on the situation and potential next steps. They may not be the gentlest about it but I prefer a straighforward approach so that I can handle whatever I'm dealing with as quickly and as best as possible. This office is kind, efficient, and very good at what they do. I've been coming here for YEARS, have gotten my family to come here as well, and hope to continue to be coming here for many more years to come. A truly fantastic doctor and office. read more

Dr. Chang, whomever you have answering your phone at 9 AM on Monday, Feb 4 needs training or needs to go. She answers the phone with "Yea," and no other identifying information. I had to ask if it was Dr. Chang's office I was calling. I asked about scheduling an appointment and she said since I haven't been to the office in a long time, I'm considered a new patient and can't get anything until April. No problem. I asked her if Dr. Chang had another provider he works with due to me wanting to get something looked at sooner. She said, "go to Google". Wow! After seven years seeing Dr. Chang as my PCP, I have changed insurance many times making sure my new insurance allowed me to continue seeing him. I will be on Medicare in a couple of months and will be joining a plan that has Dr. Chang in their network. Luckily, most of them do. Dr. Chang is a very caring doctor. He even personally calls or sends emails during the off-business hours to follow up on my care. If I run out of my medications, I call his office and that is taken care of right away with my pharmacy on file. Dr. Chang prescribes medications that are current with new medical findings and he does not hesitate to refer you to a specialist, if needed. He will also work with you to make sure the medications he prescribes are either covered by insurance or has a manufacturer's coupon to lower your co-payment. He will spend as much time with you as needed and if he can delegate the task, he will ask his assistant to follow up with you on lab results or any time additional action need to be taken. He does this even after business hours or on weekends. His staff have gotten so experienced over the years. I prefer to have my blood drawn at his office since I am usually a challenge to phlebotomists at LabCorp or Quest. I highly recommend Dr. Albert Chang for your PCP needs. I've just come here for a few physical tests and only reason I found Dr. Chang was a reference by my other doctor in Garden Grove. And I am so glad that I found a great doctor in my neighborhood. He is bilingual so he has many Korean older patients who only speaks Korean, he also has one bilingual staff. His clinic offers typical physical tests inside clinic on the same day of visit. The clinic building is very clean and new. The staff are friendly and Dr. Chang is very courteous as well. Unlike typical "doctors", he is very understanding and sticks to patients side. Maybe this is why he is popular, getting an appointment is not quite easy, but he accepts walk-ins as long as you are flexible with a bit of waiting. He will ensure to return your call even after his work to answer your questions. I think Dr. Chang will be our family doctor from now on. read more

Dr. Chang is great but he needs to hire an entire new staff. I've been a patient over a year now. Everytime I do blooodwork nobody calls me or emails me that results are in the portal. I had two positive things come up and no one calls me to explain. This last time I called three times to request blooodwork to get done. In the first call, they said they would email me but they didn't. in the second call, they said the paperwork is in the portal but it wasn't. During the third call, they said LabCorp has the information. I went to LabCorp and they said I have to be fasting. Dr. Chang office NEVER mentions I have to be fasting. What a waste of time. Exact doctor I need, I'm tired of being brushed off by people in the medical industry who aren't concerned about healing the core but just covering with medication. He reassured me & helped me get a plan for correcting in the future. I wish I remembered the name of the nurse practitioner but she was the sweetest too. One less star for the ladies at the front desk, they are TERRIBLE. Didn't even acknowledge my existence when I came in, stood at check in for like 5 minutes thinking she was busy and seemed so bothered when I told her I was a new patient. It takes only one person at the front office to ruin the experience. I've visited this office 3 times now. The first time I was greeted by the same lady that everyone else on Yelp complains about. They are completely right. She is the rudist receptionist ever. The condescending grumpy attitude that wonders why any patient comes to her office. Wonder if Dr. Chang knows about her? The 2nd time I came, she thankfully was not there and I had a great experience. Dr. Chang is a great doctor. The rest of the staff is pretty good. Then the 3rd time, I came in on an appointment to get blood work done. That grumpy rude receptionist was there again. I was told that no paperwork was done and that I had to wait to get new paperwork. I sat there and realized that she will never give that paperwork to Dr. Chang to get signed. I'm just wasting my Friday sitting in the office for nothing. So I got up and told her to call me when the paperwork is signed. She rolled her eyes and said "whatever". Well over a week later, no phone calls. At this rate, I don't expect a phone call. The blood work that needed to be done had to be done on a very specific date. The window has been missed. Now I have wait another month before I can attempt the blood test. Oh well, glad I don't have anything serious that requires a quick turnaround. Can't imagine if there was someone who had something serious and that lady was in charge of their paperwork. read more

My last visit here was a year ago. Hada very terrible yet discriminated experience here. Was hanging on to the last of my sanity with my M.S. flare up at the time didn't know I had M.S. at the time. When it came down to get something done for all these symptoms he worsen my condition and pushed me away from trusting ANYTHING anymore. He began saying the specialist is going to find nothing and I am faking it, in the end the specialist found M.S. through this and left me more insane and cloudy. Didn't know what to do ended up running away from home, try to drink it away, running. Thanks Albert for such an unnecessary experience. Best doctor in OC! I used to take my mom to Joseph medical group down the street and we were always so disappointed with their service. I was a bit skeptical about this doctor because there were absolutely no reviews about him anywhere. Since he was in the building next to my hospital, I just strolled on in. The office I stepped into had a feng shui cozy feeling. There were sofas with pillows and piano music!! I felt so relaxed there. Whenever I go there, I never have to wait more than 5 minutes. Fast, relaxing, and the staff here are great. Very friendly and they care about you. I have a thyroid problem and trust me, it's such a hassle to go to the doctors. But I really do enjoy going here for my check ups and follow ups, etc. Also, Dr. Chang really takes the time to get to know you. I really like how he doesn't just come in, asks what's wrong, gives you a prescription, and leaves. Another thing is that my thyroid problem gives me a bunch of other issues and Dr. Chang actually calls specialists FOR me and see if they accept my insurance. I used to love this office. Dr. Chang is great and his staff used to be as well. Now, I can't get appointments in a timely fashion. The front desk staff refers patients to urgent care or the hospital. Walk-in hours (4-5p) do not work for me, and previous staff would help work with me. The current staff, both the manager and the first person who answered, were rude and told me that I should skip work to make it to the office hours. In the past, the staff would make sure Dr. Chang would get back to me. More than once they didn't mass the message on and I have completely stopped getting return calls. ** To highlight this: the staff actually yelled at me. I was upset, in pain, and extremely frustrated and rather than being empathetic and helping me work through the issue, they yelled at me! It was extremely unprofessional. In fast food industries employees are taught that this kind of treatment is not okay. It is completely unacceptable from staff who are working with sick patients. read more

I have never had a doctor as caring for a patient as Dr. Chang. He takes time explaining my condition to me. One time, I got a call from him at 7pm just to tell me the result of my blood exam. My condition is not that critical too. I only have a high cholesterol level. He took the time to advice me on things I need to do to lower it. How many doctors will call you at 7pm to do that? There was also an occassion last month when I was running a fever and I called his office around 10am. He answered the phone (yes, he is so down-to-earth that he also answers the phone if he can) and told me to come in at lunch time. I just feel blessed to have found such a doctor. read more
