It's like the best hometown hardware or car parts store that has been around for decades - they've seen it all, and are happy to help. The College Park / Laurel / Beltsville / Hyattsville area is really lucky to have a plumbing shop like this in business. Fergusons stores often refer customers to T.M. O'Donnell much like a primary care doctor would refer a patient to a specialist. Unlike a medical procedure, you can just go to the specialist first (T.M. O'Donnell) and get the parts and any info you need on the first trip! Remember to bring cash if you only need a small part or two, as they prefer to only accept credit cards for purchases over $10.

I was sold a graphite stringy substance in its place, but still had a leak. I went to Ferguson's plumbing supply and they had the whole spigot, but they referred me to TM O'Donnell. They even gave me a printed paper with directions on how to get there from Ferguson's. I went to this shop and was greated by 3 friendly men. The one that took care of me looked for the washer but did not have the exact size. He did get me a graphite ring washer. He stated if the spigot was still leaking from the handle, the problem was likely farther down the rod and to come back with the rod if it does. He was right. He did not charge for the graphite washer by the way. So I took the rod back to the shop. He replaced the end piece which also seemed to have a washer which was eroded/torn. I paid $6.43 for the piece. And it fixed the job. No more leaky handle. Now I can set my house to timer to water my wife's plants and grass. Definitely, would come back to this store. They are a wholesale distributor and seem to have a lot in their shop. If they dont have it, they can probably get it for you.

This is the worst store I have been to. My intention today was to visit the store and purchase some…read morematerials. When I arrived, I noticed the Bethesda Arts Fair and decided to walk around there first. When I returned to the store, my car was gone. It had been towed at the clerk's instruction. Their parking lot was empty, and no customers were at the store. It was a Sunday. When I approached the clerk about why he had the car towed, he did not care and said that all cars are towed if the customers do not come directly into the store. He showed no empathy, nor did he care that it was Mother's Day too. There was no humanity. He spoke to me like a government bureaucrat, following a nonsense procedure. The two were $150, the Uber to get to the towing place in Rockville cost $60, and it took over an hour of our time. With everything happening worldwide, this store's owner should learn how to treat people. Awful customer service.

The first employee talked to me like I was an idiot when he directed me stating "go over there and stand and when he says "next" tell them you need help" So fine, I did as I was told and was met by the plumbing grinch #2 who simply STARED at me until I finally folded and told him I needed help. It was the most awkward, uncomfortable exchange ever. Once I explained what I needed he asked me for the brand which I didn't know off the top of my head. He clearly didn't like this because I told they sell no universal parts and I should go Somewhere else to find my part. I was able to contact a family member who looked and gave me what I needed and proceeded back in to face the horrible staff. Once again I was greeted with straight up animosity. I told him what I needed and was immediately told "we don't have it, there's another store nearby" Well I did go to that store nearby who greeted me, helped me find what I needed, and didn't make me feel like I was a horrible person for simply walking into the store. I appreciate their referral to a friendly, more customer service oriented environment. I will NEVER set foot into Ferguson again. What a dreadful experience.

The manager came out and stopped me as I was getting into my vehicle, just to make sure that I realized that I had purchased a "deep base" paint, (which would have been completely wrong for this project). It was really nice of him to catch that, because I never noticed. Then he took me back in the store, and made the exchange, even covering the cost of the difference (the correct paint was a couple dollars more). You just don't see that these days. Somebody taking the time to pay that much attention, where I was negligent, bring it to my attention, and then actually take less money - to make the exchange quicker and more convenient for me. It's hard for me to remember not to just run to the "big orange" store every time I need something in the shop, or around the house. But this is just a little reminder, that there is a much better option.

HE HAD THE NERVE TO SAY "I don't know what she sleeps on." Then he asked us to leave because he "had other things to do". When my husband and I are ready to replace our king size mattress, we WILL not return to this store.
