The manager came out and stopped me as I was getting into my vehicle, just to make sure that I realized that I had purchased a "deep base" paint, (which would have been completely wrong for this project). It was really nice of him to catch that, because I never noticed. Then he took me back in the store, and made the exchange, even covering the cost of the difference (the correct paint was a couple dollars more). You just don't see that these days. Somebody taking the time to pay that much attention, where I was negligent, bring it to my attention, and then actually take less money - to make the exchange quicker and more convenient for me. It's hard for me to remember not to just run to the "big orange" store every time I need something in the shop, or around the house. But this is just a little reminder, that there is a much better option.

I knew that Benjamin Moore paints are of superior quality, so this store was the first place that came to mind. The friendly employee was able to give me some guidance in terms of the types of materials that I would need for the job. In addition to the paint. I purchased some masking tape, plastic sheathing, a lambskin roller cover, and a new upgraded paint brush. In terms of the paint type, he recommended the Benjamin Moore Advance paint for the cabinets. He told me that most customers preferred the satin type of finish for cabinets, and the great part was that the paint could be tinted to the specific grey color that I like. Now that I have the paint and supplies that are needed, the fun part begins!

Unfortunately, the bull-nose tiles that were available with the same pattern had a much whiter background color than the large tiles. We went to numerous tile stores looking for a better bull-nose option and couldn't find anything close to our large-scale wall tile pattern. A general contractor recommended that we check out Mosaic in Rockville and we're very glad we did! Their tile options were the best we have seen and we found a bull-nose large scale (6" x 18") tile that is a near-perfect match to our wall tile! J.R. and Mr. Rueda were fantastic reps and we only wish we had started at Mosaic for all our tiling needs. And the price was very reasonable! We won't go anywhere else again.
