All of the work was done perfectly and beyond my expectations. I'm very picky. Everyone in the company is polite, helpful, and professional. Leo Ambriz did the estimating and supervised the job. No prices were changed throughout the process. I added work to the list, and of course, I paid extra which was only fair. Pablo and Tony did most of the work. They were friendly, skilled, and highly professional with an amazing work ethic. Pablo is a terrific carpenter with an excellent eye and is very exacting. They also took my allergies seriously, doing a great job with dust control, and left my house spotless when they left each day. Stephanie and Tammy who work in the office are very friendly and professional and inspire confidence. I had used Galaxy for a small job last year and their attention to detail is what made me consider them for this major remodel in my kitchen. It was great to have once company do everything, and they really respect your home. Galaxy is going to do some outside painting for me this spring, and I plan to have them paint my upstairs and do some re-tiling in my bathrooms in the future. They do great work for a very fair price. I give them my highest recommendation.

The showroom is smaller and some of the displays are put together a little haphazardly, but there is sooo much product. It's almost impossible to not fine something great here. If you have a project that needs tile or flooring I would strongly recommend taking a look at this showroom for some ideas.

P.S. In June 2023 I hired D B Genesis to reinstall the hardwood floors and some of the steps. They…read moredid a neat and professional job. There were no gaps between the boards evident. Subsequently I filed a claim with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission against its Guaranty Fund. The fund was set up to compensate homeowners who hire licensed contractors who either fail to complete a job or do it in an "unworkmanlike" manner. After a very long drawn out process, the MHIC opined that the multitude of gaps "were not significant enough to render the installation unworkmanlike." Prefinished hardwood flooring is an interlocking tongue-and-groove system and it is certainly not good workmanship to install the boards with clearly visible separations. This contractor left more than 50 open joints between the boards, significant gaps between boards and stair rails and installed steps with stair noses that were not level and that creaked shortly after installation. This was certainly an unworkmanlike installation. (I guess that tells you what a license from the MHIC is worth.) What matters, however, is not my opinion or the MHIC's but whether you would be pleased if this contractor did such fine work in your home. This contractor has cost me time, money and a lot of aggravation with his threats of legal action, lies and refusal to accept responsibility. He continues to lie about conditions in my home alleging that I do not operate my HVAC leading to wildly fluctuating temperatures and humidity levels, causing the multitude of gaps. Don't be fooled. He is just lying to shift blame for the shoddy work of his subcontractor to me, the homeowner. BTW he's also lying about offering to replace the flooring at cost. P.P.S. As I have stated before the "official unbiased inspection report" Eric is referring to falsely stated there were no separations visible in the floor either from a stand up position or under 10x magnification and thus, concludes there were no installation problems. So I guess those are all imaginary gaps Eric's subcontractor filled in with wood putty. The MHIC a scam?? I would not put it that way but certainly they did not have much sympathy for me as a homeowner harmed by a licensed contractor. They seemed much more concerned about protecting the Guaranty fund from claims, even legitimate ones. Sometimes the system does not deliver justice. In any case, a license from the MHIC is clearly not a guarantee against shoddy workmanship.

After having five estimates done for hardwood floor refinishing, I chose Baxter Floors. I'm so…read moreglad I did! After reading numerous reviews on Angie's List, I knew I'd be in good hands with Baxter. They're a top-rated company with numerous service awards. Their estimate came in higher than the others but it was well worth it. There are some things you don't want to cut corners with and refinishing hardwood floors is one of them. I'd contemplated doing this myself and renting the equipment but figured it was best to leave this to the pros. Worrying about dust containment alone was enough to give me a minor panic attack :) The owner, Grant, demonstrates superior customer service and professionalism. He's also very easy to talk with and takes his time to explain the process, timeframes and sets realistic expectations. They also use water-based environmentally friendly products which produce less odors/toxins. This is a really nice bonus. The price came to just under $3k for approx. 850 SQ FT of hardwood floors and included everything (repairs, baseboard replacement, sanding, varnish, filler to keep for future use, etc.). There were no added costs and the work was done in a few days. Grant was communicative throughout the process and even stopped by after the work was done to drop off extra wood filler and explain the best way to clean the floors. I'd highly recommend Baxter floors for refinishing, installation, etc.

This review is long overdue. I hired City Painters for two large jobs in the last year; first they…read morepainted my entire house, second they remodeled the floors in my basement (that job also involved some drywall work). Both jobs are stunning and worth every penny! Selvin is straight-forward and honest with his pricing and walks you through the entire job. When I asked if they were able to do something his response was "you're the boss!" Selvin's team is prompt and hard-working, showing up on time every day ready to work. I had to reschedule my flooring job with short notice for a trip out of state and they were able to squeeze me in a week earlier than originally scheduled. It was a tight schedule, only four days for the whole basement, but they were able to get the job done early! I couldn't recommend City Painters more for all of your remodeling needs! We hired them to…read moreremodel our basement, and we couldn't be happier with both the process and the end product. Selvin, our client rep, was responsive, competitively priced, and transparent. We even added in a few requests during the project. Selvin was quick to provide us with an updated and fair quote for the additional work. Jovani, our project manager, was amazing. He checked in with us every morning AND evening to explain what work was going to be done and ask any outstanding questions. He was knowledgeable in helping us make decisions and select products. The team was equally awesome. They worked so hard to get the project done on schedule, even after adding some additional items. They were very skilled but also very professional. I loved how each day they cleaned up--throwing away the trash, organizing the tools, moving items off to the side. This level of effort showed that they not only respected their work, but they respected our home. It can be hard to find a good contractor. I am so grateful that we found Selvin, Jovani, and the City Painters team. I will take them with me wherever we go and hire them for whatever project we decide to tackle next. Thank you! Thank you!
