Our realtor, Jeremy Rosenthal (also wonderful) recommended I work with Ray Tabarzadi, the owner of Rio Abbey. Ray's business has been around in Kentlands forever; it's a small mom & pop that he runs with his wife. Both of them are lovely, kind, helpful, and so nice! You cannot imagine that working on a renovation - which is stressful - could be so easy. Ray helped me with selections for the kitchen, bathrooms, and carpet. And he made it turn-key for me. Now, we are renovating 2 bathrooms in our home and also redoing the carpet. I got 4 estimates but I knew I was going to use Ray. Not only is his pricing very fair and reasonable, the best part is working with someone with integrity and who I trust will get the job done well and on time. I simply cannot say enough about them. If you are doing any renovations - bathroom, kitchen, flooring, etc. - I strongly recommend this company. Please tell him Carol sent you!

When it was time to renovate my kitchen, I was very unhappy with contractors we interviewed so we stopped by to see what Ray could do. Although we had some glitches with his workers, due to a worker injury and needing a substitute, Ray was always responsive and worked with us until we were satisfied. We love our kitchen and highly recommend him.

For our first-ever home remodeling, we decided to go with Matthew Willis' team to help us renovate…read moreour basement. We worked with them for a total of 2 months in turning around an empty basement to an inviting space with a wet bar, entertainment room, new bathroom, and playroom. It turned out to be a great decision to use Willis with their constant communication, knowledgeable team headed by project manager Luis, and their ability to turn our vision into reality. After a walk-through of our dream basement, Matt was timely and thorough with our project estimates which we really appreciated. He answered any questions we had without hesitation, which made him very approachable. Throughout the entire project, we knew we could communicate with him via email or text, and he was always very up-to-date with how our project was progressing. He also came by every few weeks, and he made sure everything was going as planned. Luis, our project manager, was also a great person to work with. He made sure that my husband and I were happy with his work, and whenever we came to a hiccup (and there always will be minor hiccups!), he would always consult us before continuing on. He was more than flexible with any of our adjustments/changes and stayed on task with his team. If we plan on doing another renovation, we are definitely looking to hire Willis' team once again. I would recommend them to my friends and family as well.

It's…read morenot the cheapest of renovators, but if you want flawless work and professional service this is the team to get it done. It's the little things that count: -laying down tarp or coverings as to not track dirt/work mess. -becoming a part of your daily routine without intruding on your day-to-day activities (and they will be there long if you have massive projects) -keeping in touch via text or email if they are not showing up a day -superb detailing in everything... from painting, to cabinet installation... they will make your vision come alive -owner Matt, checking in periodically on progress -trustworthy advice on things that need to be fixed things that don't need to be fixed -one stop shop -- I needed hardwood flooring done in the new kitchen, for example, and they linked me with someone who coordinated work with them Minor downsides: -surprise costs like hauling trash or materials (Always budget more, you may not get a clear scope of how much exactly after labor/materials will cost. The estimate only factors a general idea, so be clear up front.) -had to rush them a bit to stick to timeline (always fast during demo, but towards end gets a little slower. was easily remedied when asked them to communicate more on which work days they would be in/out) If you have a massive dream project, they are the people to get it done. We have met many contractors of all different areas, and always encounter difficulty in response time, details and cleanliness (this is a big one for me). Willis is one of those gems, albeit pricey but I trusted them coming into our home daily and still trust them for consults on small projects.
