Colonial Restoration did an outstanding job in putting a large porcelain bowl back together after our cat 'unintentionally' ran into it on our dining room table. We never thought it could be fixed, as it was in many small pieces, but Dave did an incredible job of putting it back together and making it look as if nothing had ever happened to it. He also restored a chipped and darkened oil painting which we inherited. (It had been hanging over a fireplace). We had never seen the details or the actual colors in it before. He is very fast too, and his prices are more than fair. We highly recommend Dave. read more

I needed to have a sculpture made out of whale bone . They did an excellent job. Another time they reattached a hand to a statue from Cambodia. You can barely tell the hand had been damaged. Would definitely use them again. read more

Took a cherry desk that is about 80 years old to Colonial. This desk had great sentimental value and was in pretty rough shape. The work was truely exceptional and the desk looks amazing. Loved dealing with Colonial and their work is just perfection. Thank you so much. read more

Thank you so much for repairing the glass on our antique lamp. I really appreciate it.

Exceptionally talented father-son team for antique furniture restoration as well as high-end ceramic repair and conservation of fine art. Easily accessible, totally professional ... and they do fantastic work. Ceramic repair was virtually invisible. Definitely would use them again -- but I hope I don't break anything else! read more

Colonial Restoration did a great job refinishing our front porch wood railings. We had purchased a home where it soon became clear that the former owners did not use the proper treatment/product on the exterior wood railings; they were quickly deteriorating. Jarrod came out w/a helper, showed me how the main rail post was clearly rotting. We agreed that he would rebuild the post & refinish the rest. Since Colonial does their best work in a "clean room", Jarrod & his associate removed all of the railings & post to take back to the shop. The resulting work was just gorgeous & has held up well with all the cold & precipitation that we've had this year! read more

My antique mahogany loveseat broke during a recent move. I took it here because they were the most detailed in their explanation of how to repair it. They did an excellent job! You can't even tell where the break was. Very happy! read more

When I asked for the chip repair and repaint of adjacent surfaces, I expected the gold to be a slightly different color than the original. i also expected not to see a clear line at the breakpoint on the vase that showed through the re-painted surface as well as it did on the interior gold (see picture). I expected the results to be a restoration as claimed. I paid $285.00 for a chip repair and cold re-paint. Very dissatisfied! read more

Excellent customer service. Fixed my project while I waited. Would return for other restoration needs.

I could not find anywhere to get an antique sign fixed that I broke. When I went to Colonial Restoration Studios, the guys who worked there were so friendly and willing to help me. They were kind enough to even go above and beyond and hand paint my sign where it cracked and now it looks like it was never even broken. Will be returning for sure! Thanks again! read more

I brought my prized father's CPA desk to them for restoration. It had had to be stored in a garage for a few years and it was in bad shape. They did any amazing job with it and it looks brand new, despite being 60+ years old. They were great with communication. I would absolutely bring them work again. Friendly, knowledge and beyond talented! I am so glad they were recommended to me. read more

I had a terrific experience working with Colonial Restoration. Jarod and David Hawksford (son and father) were very pleasant and easy to work with. They did a terrific job repainting our kitchen chairs with a lacquer finish as we discussed. Our 10 year-old chairs look like they're new! They got the finish just right. They also helped me get the cushioned seats re-upholstered by an upholsterer they work with and those look fantastic as well. In addition, they refinished the piano bench that goes with our piano - in a not especially common wood color and it looks brand new. I would definitely work with Colonial again and highly recommend them! read more

Colonial Restoration is great father/son business that clearly cares about excellence in their work. They did a beautiful job repairing our antique rocker and damage to our dresser due to a mover incident. The rocker is totally reglued and repaired. They put a new wood top on our dresser and perfectly matched the oak stain so you cannot see any difference in color! They were a great to work with and we are so happy with the results. read more

David and Jarrod have restored antiques and repaired furniture for me for many years. They are extremely talented, knowledgeable and personable. The quality of their repairs is excellent. Their prices are fair and I continue to use them even after moving to the Eastern Shore. I recommend them without reservation. read more

I dropped off some small items for repair LAST JANUARY. The owner's son accepted them. I NEVER heard back about repairs, but after multiple back and forth emails with the owner himself, apparently they had lost all of the items. When it became clear after months of this that items were gone, I requested insurance information so I could file a claim. Since that time, complete silence. I was trying to support a small family-owned business, but this was a mistake. They just don't give a darn about their work or this particular customer. read more

Exceptional quality, friendly people. My grandmothers dining room chairs, chipped and cracked, look and feel brand new. I'm going back with her table! read more

Colonial Restoration does lovely work. I am very happy with them. They take a long time because they have a lot of business, but if you're in a huge hurry to get your antiques restored you probably should have bought new. I don't know whether their prices are a good value bc I've never needed to comparison shop. Five stars. read more

Excellent! Very honest! Had a very sentimental cabinet/bar fully restored in and out. Chose them over multiple others. Best decision.

I brought a broken ceramic beer stein to David and he fixed it in a matter of minutes. It was broken in two large pieces and the breaks were clean. Jarrod assessed two broken bed rails from a 70 year old bed frame. They could not be repaired, but he made identical copies and matched the stain color. They look great, matching the head board and foot board; they also hook perfectly back into the head and foot boards. read more

They refinished several pieces perfectly. They also refinished and essentially rebuilt my rosewood dining room table ; expanding from 8 guests to 12. They found an additional 4 antique rosewood chairs and reworked the design so that all 12 chairs were virtually the same. Jared would never allow work to leave the shop unless it was one hundred perfect!! read more

I just had an antique oak table and four chairs restored; the finished job was stunning! The table was split; and now you cannot even tell there was such a split! I also requested that the table be finished in walnut to blend with my china hutch; and again, you would not know that they were not a set! I highly recommend this company; I searched for days online for the right company; visited and interviewed employees; and this was the one I felt knew antiques. They appreciated my desire to restore the table to its original beauty; ultimately putting all their efforts in doing such! Once finished, I was invited to see the end result and again, can only say, "you need not look any further!" read more

I'm soooo glad I bit the bullet and had the dressers refinished. David and Jarod and crew did a fantastic job! I hesitated for a year, as the price was about $900 each. But after searching (...and searching) I realized I'd pay at least twice as much for new pieces of similar quality, and wouldn't like them as much. They came out perfectly. The process was easy, communication was great, and they very patiently helped me decide on a stain color. I'm a very happy customer! read more

Absolutely the place to go for any type of furniture restoration. The family-run business is a team of experts who work like a fine-tuned machine. David and Jarrod were great to work with! Words can't truly express how happy I am with the restoration of my family's table. The table was given to me by my great grandparents. Being over 100 years old, the table was in rough shape, and after several moves, it was showing some wear. I took pictures and sent them in for a quote. The quote, which ended up being the final price, was more than reasonable. When I picked the table up and got it home I couldn't believe my eyes! They completely reworked the legs so now the table is much easier to put together. The table leaf that was once two pieces of wood is now one solid piece. The finish is flawless and the details on the legs pop even more. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and will definitely use them again for any future furniture repair/restoration needs. read more

I can't say enough about how pleased I am to have found Colonial Restoration Studio! They not only do remarkable work, they are remarkable people. They did an outstanding job on restoring my Grandmother's solid mahogany Drexel dining room table and chairs. They did such a great job that I can't even tell which chair had the back broken off. They treated the wood, cleaned, reglued and refinished all the wood surfaces, all without damaging the seat upholstery. It's like brand new. David and his son Jared are very knowledgeable about their craft, and were very patient with my many calls, texts and questions. I would highly recommend them. read more

I had a family victrola delivered by movers in pieces. The top was completely crushed, body banged up, and wheels busted. I was easily able to arrange a pickup from my house. They were not only able to piece the top back together but they went over the whole piece to make sure it was in pristine condition when they delivered it back to me. I couldn't be happier with their work and I will be calling them when it's time for future restorations. read more

If zero stars were an option, that's what I would rank this place. I dropped off a sentimental item to be turned into a piece of furniture. I was told they were busy but that I would have an estimate within two weeks. I was understanding about there being projects ahead of me, but apparently my business and item weren't important enough. The only thing that I ever got from this shop was excuses. 3 and 1/2 months later and I still haven't even received an estimate. Which is absolutely ridiculous. I decided it was time to pick up my item and take my business elsewhere to a place that would value it. I wish I had done this sooner. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Wonderful wonderful place to take your priceless items to be fixed and put back into their original condition! They have our great great grandmothers antique shelf that has several mirror pieces incorporated into the piece. They are true professionals at their job, they know their stuff and they will tell you exactly what they can or cannot do based upon the item brought to them. Update- the piece is perfect, took a bit to get back because the glass had to be cut and placed. We are so pleased! read more

Colonial Restoration did wonderful work restoring two pieces of furniture, including a large lectern, for our congregation. Both pieces were old and well-worn. I enjoyed working with David and Jarrod at Colonial Restoration, and we are very appreciative for their fine work. read more

A father and son team along with a few others. Did a great job repairing our antique chair and you cannot even tell there is was a repair. I wouldn't hesitate to return to Colonial Restoration to have more work done by David (dad) and Jarrod (son). It is a family business that you can tell they take great pride in. They are also good human beings and wonderful to work with. I had 5 dining room chairs stripped from some 1960's "antiquing" process, glued, rebuilt, and then seats cushioned/upholstered by MC Interiors & Fabrics - which they work closely with. The process was seamless. I'd give them more than 5 stars if I could. read more

These guys are TERRIFIC. VERY responsive, reasonably priced and do outstanding work. Had a gorgeous redwood custom piece that would have been $10's of thousands to replace. Great job of restoring 11 antique chairs - repairs, new rush on several new caning on others. They are good and really helpful

Was very pleased with refinishing of 30+ year old armoire and repair of damaged coffee table top. I highly commend the excellent craftsmanship by father & son owners, David and Jarrod. In addition, they are very nice people. The only comment I would make is to most likely expect their estimate of a work completion date to be a bit optimistic. If you're not in a rush, no problem. Would highly recommend Colonial Restoration Studio. read more
