Went to get price estimate to replace left-over paint from contractor that had purchased from another store. I showed the 'clerk' the s-wiliams 1-gal can, and she said: "We don't have that brand". I pointed to "Sherwin-Wiliams" printed on can, no response. Then tried another approach by asking her the price of the paint. She replied she can't tell me, that I would have to contact the store that's on the label on the can. The label is from another S-W Store. "What the Heck?" Not being able to reason with her, due to her limited "Customer Service Ability to adequately explain herself, I left disappointed in her lack of care. Got home, called the phone # on the can, turns out to be store in is in Sunnyvale. Told my story to the polite gentleman on the phone, and was able to get a $ price! He couldn't understand why the Mtn View store couldn't serve me. Bottom line.....Don't go to Mtn View store where they are "Customer Service Challenged" .Go to Sunnyvale, where customer service seems to mean something. read more

I visited the store yesterday and had a great experience. The guy spent time trying to help me choose between grays. He was so patient and explained also my options in types of paint. I heard another guy helping another customer and being so patient with them. He even looked up other stores for them (they were looking for a craft store). Best service I have ever seen. My only complaint: they need to bring back the small size sample paint. I chose other brands over SW during my remodel bc I could sample them. read more

It's unfortunate that the manager Tori has such a poor attitude with people. As a manager I expected much more than poor attitude I recieved! However, the assistant manager Carla and employee Mark were great! Very helpful and pleasant. I won't go back until Carla has Tori's position! I feel Tori is bad for Sherwin Williams business. read more

We got zero VOC (volitile organic compound) paint at this location and I can't have been happier. The service was great and the paint didn't leave that awful smell. I would absolutely buy from here again. If you prefer it, there is a nearby Kelly Moore, southeast on El Camino on the other side of Grant. read more

Awful ! Saw an a home inprovement video that SW can custom match wood stain. I took a sample of hardwood floor in to have them match it. They were polite at this time and told me I need to bring in another piece of unfinished wood so they can use it as a test piece. I left the store and sanded off a section of finish from the hardwood floor sample and returned with that and a bare 1 square piece of board. I told them best would be to get it colose on the board then do a final test on the hardwood floor piece which was sanded down. They called me two days later telling me it was done. I returned collected the paint and samples. When I came home tested the color and it was way light. I also saw that when they "matched" it they globed the stain onto the wood instead of dabbing it on then wiping off. (this is how stain is supposed to be applied). I returned and spoke with "Ivan" a real gem. I informed him of the situation that they did not use proper application technique when trying to match the stain. He told me " you can leave this here and call and tell them that" I said why you cannot leave a note. He said "no you can call them and tell them they dont know how to do their job" I said well i would assume by going to a paint store to match stain the person matching it would know how to apply it. He said in a rude and stuck up manner, " I said you can call them and tell them they dont know how to do their job" I then said or YOU can just give me a refund then. Which he did. I then went to home depot and matched by eye 10x closer then the SW "custom match" SW wasted 1.5 hours of my time. Garbage ! read more

We've just remodeled and were desperate to paint over the awful Kelly Moore paint that was on our walls. It was terrible paint - very bad coverage, wouldn't clean up and it chipped off at every bump to the wall. So after some research we repainted every room in our house with Sherwin-Williams paint. EXCELLENT PAINT. The MV location has ample parking, their staff is very helpful and they have flexible hours (even Sunday). Plus, we went into the store about 6 differnt times during the remodeling process and each time they had a new sale on!!! Their paint provided complete coverage that's very exact to the color samples they provide you. They also have a *free* online color visualizer that helps you to "see" what rooms look like painted in different colors. AVOID !!! Go to a real paint store... Service was terrible. Had them put an order into my account - they lost my account. Asked to darken a color a shade --- don't even get me started !!! Then - he wanted to argue about it... unbelievable. The LAST thing I need is this BS in the middle of a job - never again. Too bad, cause there is one guy there who is good. read more

This review is for the store manager Jasmine. She was very accommodating with our needs and provided great customer service. We came into the store for a gray paint. The paint came out too blue once applied, however, and wasn't the same color as the paint swatch. Jasmine and I worked hard to color correct the second gallon of paint we bought but to no avail (turned out all purple). Jasmine was so understanding of our situation and reasonable the entire time. In the end, she was able to resolve the situation to our satisfaction. My husband and I really appreciated her friendly demeanor and attitude. Thanks!! read more
