I had several interactions with owner Michael Knight via email including pictures of the inside of the unit. Michael Knight came for the estimate as planned on a Friday at 2pm. He measured, took even more pictures of the condo, talked shop, gave us ideas, and seemed quite amiable and pleasant. He promised a written email estimate "By tonight or first thing tomorrow morning." That did not happen. I emailed him again on Saturday afternoon asking about the estimate. No response. I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking that he may have been extra busy -- and waited until the next business day. No response. I emailed him again five days later and asked about the estimate. Continued no response. I asked him if there was any particular reason he had failed to provide a written estimate as he promised. I mentioned that it didn't sound like how a professional business does business. No response. So, I'm left without any idea. Except this: His Facebook page lists several religious "likes" and references to "The Bible" and such. While I have absolutely no objection to any of these things that Michael Knight appreciates, I must wonder if he has failed to provide a written estimate because we are gay. It has happened before. And apparently, it has happened again. While I appreciated my interaction with Mr. Knight and the knowledge that he provided, I will never respect anyone who: (1) Fails to do what he promises or (2) Fails to provide the estimate because I am gay. There is no amount of integrity or response in those sorts of actions. Michael Knight and Performance Plus Painting do not deserve the business of anyone who holds justice, equality, and fairness to be values in their lives.

I got connected to Kruse Painting through a recommendation from a home inspector I hired a couple…read moreof years ago. We had previously gotten a bid for painting from another company that seemed very high, so we wanted to check our options. Eric came out to visit shortly after we connected and we discussed the project. He gave me some color ideas, and we worked with the local paint store to get a color wheel to narrow the colors down. We texted him with our top 5 colors and he brought out samples to paint on the house/garage to help us in our decision. Once we came to an agreement for the project, he came out and power washed, caulked, etc. toward the end of the week and his crew was on site early the next week to do the work. They did a great job prepping (there was no trace that they were even there when it was all done) and were extremely fast and efficient in getting the job done. The work was beautifully done, and our house looks like a million bucks. Don't be discouraged by the reviews on here...he does great work. It's hard to get a contractor to come and do ANYTHING in Portland it seems like, so communication might be slow as he's busy, but once you get on the schedule, he shows up, gets the work done, and cleans up after ward. Oh yea, his bid/cost was 50% less than the first bid we got from a different company. Top rating.

They have great value, and everybody working there was super friendly and kind. The prices are definitely cheaper than the big box stores for a lot of stuff and all of their plants are extremely healthy-they have a good variety of vegetables as well and they look worlds different from the things you can buy at the big box stores!! Their prices are very reasonable. I always have the best luck with their plants, they take-off quickly and thrive. I can always find a few unique plants that I have never seen nor read about.
