Had an excellent customer service experience working with Nick. We were almost out of paint and…read morewere able to call in our order on our way to the store, so it would be ready when we got there. After returning some unused items, Nick was kind enough to inform me of a promotion making the upgraded paint cheaper than the grade I was inquiring about. He even honored the current sale for the one gallon I'd bought a few days prior, which he certainly didn't have to do. When I contemplated buying more he informed me of an upcoming sale, so I knew I wouldn't be missing out. I will 100% be back largely in part to Nick going above and beyond for a great customer experience.

I'm kind of torn about my experience here…read more I needed to paint an area of about 2" x 2". Spoke to the kid at the counter and he told me that the product I was looking for had since changed names. The contractor paint that I was looking for to touch up my ceiling was a 700 series and is now a 400 series per him. He said it comes in 1 gallon, which is the smallest he could do for me. I didn't really want that much paint but I didn't really seem to have an option. He did give me a discount because I had my Builder's information so the gallon of paint was almost $50. I went home and touched up the area, and immediately knew it was not a match. It was super Duper shiny more like a gloss. I let it dry and came back and could see it a mile away. It was definitely much brighter white as well. I called the store and a female answered, and I explained the situation to her. She then promptly tells me that that is definitely not a match and even though the series changed that is not the correct paint for my ceiling. I asked her if I could return it and she said they did not allow returns. I explained the situation to her and told her that the gentleman told me it was a match and I had photos to prove it. I told her how big the area was, and after about 10 minutes she finally said that I could actually bring the paint back. The gentleman was in the store when I returned, and I attempted to talk to him about it because basically, I had wasted about two hours of my time doing this, and he would not speak to me at the counter. I mean, if it was a mistake and you didn't know then just own up to it. I was super put out by it, but the girl did the right thing in the end and I got a refund and left.

But, when it came time to do some touch-up paint on our 1928 bungalow, we decided to use the same brand that had been used by the previous owner: Rodda. Luckily, we had some old paint cans on hand, so Rodda was able to make us new gallons of paint to the same specifications as the old paint. The new Rodda paint is, of course, bolder and brighter than the aged paint. But it still looks really good. Even better, the Rodda applied like butter! It self-leveled, leaving very few drip marks. (Our beloved Sherwin Williams trim paint, on the other hand, left a ton of drip marks and imperfections.) The Rodda cured really well, even though we were applying it in rare dry spells during a rainy and cold fall. We're huge fans of Rodda now, and will use them for all our exterior paint in future!

I got referrals for some local, recommended painters and advice on how to order stick-up paint samples online. I parked steps from the door and got everything I wanted from my visit, so 5 stars (though I can't yet speak to value for money since everything I needed this time was free.) I'm in the process of purchasing real estate in Vancouver WA for the first time, and I know I prefer Benjamin Moore's Aura paint. This shop was very convenient to the home of the relative I was staying with, so I stopped by to pick up paint samples to bring to a few condo showings. I will return when it is time to purchase my paint unless subsequent visits prove any less pleasant and helpful. This is a relatively small shop in a strip mall across from a Safeway grocery store, but, so far, I have a very positive view of the customer service.

I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to house maintenance…read more We had to repaint a bedroom wall and so I came here since they sell the paint I needed and the old paint can listed their SE location. First visit, I ordered online, the cashier told me to just call them next time since purchasing online cost more (not exactly sure about that, haven't compared prices). Then I went back for more paint because... I don't know what I'm doing and wasted a lot of paint. The 2nd time around, I asked many more questions and asked for tips. I was also trying to coordinate with my partner over the phone while in store with an employee helping me. - The employee so patient and understanding with me being on the phone. They then proved their patience with me going to my car and coming back inside THREE TIMES with more questions. Prices are reasonable, the tools sold there are about the same price as Ace Hardware. The employees are super nice and so very helpful. They had recommendations and answers for everything. There was no pressure to buy more or go for the more expensive option. They had tools that were on the price spectrum, there were cheaper options, midgrade and more expensive. They pointed out each tool, gave their rec and left it up to me to decide. I love that I can buy paint AND materials without feeling like I paid extra for materials because of the convenience. They get busy but they are also well staffed and take their time with customers. I never had to wait more than a few minutes. They also have some Spanish speaking staff and it sounded like they have good relationships with their Spanish speaking customers. Here's what I learned: -One quart of paint technically covers about 100 ft², but in reality, probably more like 60 to 80 ft², especially considering if you don't know what you're doing. My first mistake - getting one quart, 2nd visit, I definitely got the full size can. -After you're done painting use the rollers to go all in one direction one last time to avoid seeing any strokes. Stick with a matte color to especially avoid seeing any strokes. -If you're repainting a wall, it's best to paint the entire wall otherwise you might see the old paint versus the new.
