My 2-story 1909 house needed work and a facelift. Old siding on the 1st floor, over original lap siding (why?)...plus lack of upkeep on our part. But I knew this house deserved better, and after talking to a number of people, the last being Justin, the answer was clear. I felt confident that Justin had the experience, enthusiasm, and focus for this job. It was complex with removing old siding, repairing original siding, and then painting...all done with specialized teams that each worked hard, conscientiously, and skillfully. The site was cleaned at the end of each day, and Justin checked in on a regular basis...explaining what had been done and what to expect for the next day. Shepard Painting has the experience and work ethic extraordinaire... read more

Shepard Painting was a joy to work with. Clear communication start to finish, no surprises, and did a wonderful job every step of the way. The house looks amazing and I highly recommend. read more

We used Shepard Painting to paint the exterior of our vintage house. Justin was a breeze to work with. We received complimentary design help from a designer to help us choose our colors. The painters were great. Worked really hard and cleaned up every day. We love our new exterior and get compliments all the time. We got exceptional value for the price. The exterior comes with a 5 year warranty that covers almost all of the paint except thresholds. A few years into our warranty we got a small chip on our threshold. Justin personally came out and fixed it free of charge even though it was one of the few areas not covered by the warranty. Justin goes above and beyond and we will be calling him when we're ready to paint our interior. read more

This was the third time we've used Shepard Painting and again, we couldn't have been happier with the results. Justin's crew always pays great attention to detail in the preparation prior to painting, including covering plants and patio. Justin provided a detailed estimate and contract after a walk-around inspection and discussing our concerns. We had some window repair prior to painting and Justin worked with our schedule so that painting began the week following the repairs. After the painting was complete, a crew showed up the next day for any touch-up required and Justin did another walk-around with us to make certain the job was completed to our satisfaction. The crew cleaned up the site daily and Justin was in daily communication with us to address any problems or concerns. This is a very professionally run company and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Michael B read more

Shepard Painting - Painters Near Me

Shepard Painting met all of my expectations and more. I own a 120 year old Arts and Crafts Foursquare in the Boise Neighborhood and they helped me with rebuilding my front porch, selecting historically appropriate colors, lead paint abatement and an absolutely stunning paint job. His crew was always professional and cleaned up immaculately at the end of every day. Justin Shepard, the owner, was kind, communicative and never belittling. I am a female homeowner so I am always sensitive to being talked down to. This never happened. No question was considered too basic and Justin always took the time to listen and explain and address my concerns. I highly recommend Shepard Painting. read more

Working with Shepard painting was one of the BEST experiences that I've had with the trades. I've met some wonderful boiler experts, electricians, plumbers, backflow experts, roofers. Just really kind folks who are willing to explain anything you're interested in. And again, Shepard painting is at the top of that long list. Not only did they do a fastidious job of prepping and repairing our rotten wood. Their carpenter is tops! The paint job is gorgeous. And they were very attentive to our needs. We're an 8 unit building and we're all pretty invested in our home. Justin Shepard understands this and was willing to educate us, explain process, and fix problems. (And if you're a reader, you can talk Vonnegut and J.G. Ballard with him!) What a joy to work with this company. They left our place cleaner than they found it. And they even did small things like repair a back door handle that was loose. They just went above and beyond. I highly recommend hiring Shepard Painting. read more

We have worked with Shepard Painting since 2006. We originally used them for a complete exterior paint job of our 2 story home. They have power washed it at intervals over the yrs. Recently they did a wash, touch up of trim & re -do of front porch & railing. Today our home looks like new! The teams working on our home are the best, ...prompt, hard-working, neat, & clean-up each night! The guys are delightful personalities who work closely with the company owner & respond to any of our comments or questions during project! We highly recommend them! read more

I recently had my vintage window frames restored, and the glass replaced with an modern 'solar control' glass. This was a big investment, and I wanted to have the windows professionally painted. Shepard Painting was recommended to me by another craftsman, and after speaking with Justin Shepard, I got the impression that this was the kind of business I wanted to work with. Basically, I try to work with companies that are small, skilled and honest. I'm very happy with the work Shepard Painting did for me. The workmanship is excellent (including a lot of detail work around window panels), and the crew was extremely considerate and professional. The crew lead Rafael would ask me to review the work and ensure that I was satisfied. These guys are professional, efficient, respectful, and safe to bring to your home and to work on expensive investments. I'm very pleased with the work they did for me, and for having gotten to meet them. read more

Justin Shepard of Shepard Painting, LLC is the the definition of excellence in his field. No kidding! We just had him and his crew paint our entire 2 story house, top-to-bottom, all new colors. His crew is made up of expert painters, very talented and experienced. They spent 7 days cleaning, prepping, and painting every detail. They were so quiet and respectful. Justin stays on top of everything with 2-3 visits to the house a day. Yes! Every day. Always available by phone or text. We really enjoyed talking with him, but of course the job comes first. It was so refreshing to find a professional who took the time to do the job right. It's very hard to find these days. He probably won't be your cheapest quote, but you'll be able to turn the job over to him and get exactly what you paid for. Quality. Integrity. Professionalism. 503-740-3600 read more

Shepard Painting - Beautiful and precise painting. Thank you Justin and crew! - Painters Near Me

Shepard painting is the worst vendor we have ever worked with in oregon. Poor workmanship stay away from this company at all costs. He painted a building for us in over 90 degree weather and the paint blistered everywhere, damage was over 4000 dollars, stay awy from this guy company if you want quality work. read more

First class, first rate customer service! In an industry not well known for great service, timeliness, and communication....justin and his team at Shepard Painting truly stand out from the crowd. We recently hired his crew to paint our new (old) home in NW and recommend Shepard Painting without qualification A few things we really liked about working with them: 1) on time. Milestones were hit as promised, making what's naturally an inconvenient process very convenient. 2) on budget. Said what they would do, do what they'd said, for just as much as they promised. If there was an add on request, they were happy to promptly provide a fair estimate and transparent billing 3) quality craftsmanship. Using top notch materials and with a really care for our satisfaction, it was refreshing to work with a team that was always available to answer question and handle issues Thank you, Justin and team!! read more

Shepard Painting - Two (and a half) satisfied customers show off the Before and After! - Painters Near Me

We had a pergola that needed to be painted and shingles that needed to be stained and of course we didn't have the stain color (and the original stain was a mix of unknown stains). Justin and his crew did an excellent job on the pergola. They also worked very hard to match the stain and it came out looking excellent. I work from home and I hardly knew they were there. Prompt, professional, and wonderful to deal with. We will definitely use them again. read more

I hired Justin and his crew at Shepard Painting to do the exterior of our 1911 Craftsman bungalow in Irvington. They were professional and thoughtful. They also came in on budget and on time. One issue with our house: our eaves had black dust on them - mold? - that we had washed off but it kept returning. Shepard Painting removed it and applied a special paint to ensure it didn't come back and it hasn't. Also, they did extensive preparation before they began painting. The painting itself was detailed and excellent. They were the opposite of sloppy and rushed. Justin is good at color consultation clearly genuinely likes what he does. I can't recommend Shepard Painting enough. read more

We had Shepard Painting come out and give us a quote on our exterior paint job. The estimator was timely and honest. The crew came in the morning, while we were at work and did the job. We came home that evening without even a trace of them being there, except for the fact our house was a new color! In short, they did a great job, and honestly, I'll probably never have to use them again because they did such a good job the first time! read more

These guys did an amazing job. They were highly professional from the time of the estimate until the completion of the job. They helped with color selection, showed up on time every day, had a friendly crew, and did extremely detailed work. They also didn't miss a beat with communication which is rare these days. I couldn't be happier! read more

Justin Shepard's painting crew did a beautiful job painting the exterior of my 1908 house in Northwest Portland. There were 5 color used and the the overall effect is exactly what I wanted. I was consulted regularly about whether I was satisfied with how it was looking and updated on expected completion. read more

So glad I chose Shepherd Painting to paint house exterior! Both Justin and the painting crew were extremely easy to work with, and the painters worked so hard and did a fantastic job. Highly recommended! read more

We were looking for contractors to paint our older home. We live in Eastmoreland and were looking for someone with experience on houses in the neighborhood. While taking a walk, we saw a sign for Shepard and contacted them. We received a very thorough estimate from Joshua for painting the house. We also needed a bit of carpentry work that they indicated that they could handle as well. Working with their Color consultant(Century Arts) was invaluable in picking out a color scheme that my wife and I really liked. Their prep work was superb. Their crew as friendly and very easy to work with. The house looks terrific. I am very satisfied with the results. Big Thanks to Max and Vasily for their efforts!! read more

Justin's crew were subcontractors on my house remodel and they did a terrible job when I paid for a quality job. And they do not stand behind their work and have "agreed to do a limited amount of work that has nothing to do with their workmanship..." Excuses. Surface preparation was terrible. They painted over spider webs! What kind of prep is that? They painted over staples and plastic sheeting that THEY left in the house when they were doing their limited prep work. They did some scraping of existing peeling paint but they missed a huge amount of areas. In some spots you can see the new paint UNDER the delaminated paint and they claim this is due to poor maintenance of their paint job!!!! It is customary painting practice to deal with protruding nailds and they did an extremely poor job. There a number of protruding nails that have the side of the nail covered in paint! They claim that the nails have popped out because of the age of the house and poor maintenance. How does paint get onto the SIDE of a nail if it was tapped back in prior to being painted? Excuses. Yes I have a bone to pick. I paid for a quality job and I got a blow-and-go. read more

We had a very positive experience with Shepard Painting. Within a week of the consult/estimate, Justin had a team of two (Richard and Rafael) at our older home to do some interior trim and doorway touch ups. Since we didn't have the original paint, Justin took a sample and had the hardware store come as close as possible to matching the color. The painters were friendly, professional, and finished the job in less than the originally estimated timeframe. In the end, they did a great job and were on budget (very important!). I would definitely consult them for future paint jobs. If I had to give one piece of advice, I'd recommend shoe booties for the workers upon entry to the home - especially in our rainy season. :) read more

Shepard Painting recently finished a complete siding restoration and paint job of our house. They did a great job, taking time and care to make sure that all the details were addressed and met our expectations. The painting team was incredibly respectful and friendly -- I would feel comfortable having those guys work on my house any time. They were on budget, cleaned up well, and attended to the details that we addressed. We interviewed numerous painting companies and even looked into having the house resided. We are very happy with the decision we made and would certainly hire Shepard for a project in the future. read more

Last July, Shepard Painting painted the exterior of our 1916 arts and crafts bungalow. They did an outstanding job, from prep work to cleaning up, and we are so pleased with the results. They also did some excellent repair work including removing an old basketball goal from our shared garage and matching the paint on our neighbor's side perfectly. The work was completed on schedule and within the proposed costs. The crew members were very professional and friendly. They also made sure all our furniture was put back in place. Our thanks to Justin and his team - they are the best and we highly recommend them. read more

Shepard Painting did an excellent job painting and doing repair work on the exterior of our 100 year old home. Justin and his team are a pleasure to work with. The team is courteous and professional and communication was excellent throughout the entire project. Justin was especially patient with me as I was slow to settle on color choices. Of all the contract work I've had done over the years, this was the smoothest experience I've ever encountered. We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome and would definitely use them again. read more

Extremely pleased with Shepard Painting, Hired them twice I liked their work so much, First, to paint a classic 1933 Tudor home in NE Portland which is a high quality rental home. Then, I wanted them to paint my personal residence in Beaverton. It went stellar on both houses. The paint crews were very considerate, safe, cleaned up after every day's work, and did a stellar job. The two homes had different crews too. I would be more than happy to give my personal recommendations if anyone wants to call me. Ask Justin for Ken's phone number. Also, Justin is a true and honest professional. He was always available for calls and questions that my tenants and I had. He keeps his word and I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you very much Justin! Ken read more

Shepard Painting just completed an exterior paint job on our home. We were very pleased with the workmanship, the fantastic prep work performed before painting, the extensive tidying the crew did every day, and the general decency and good humor of all involved. My sister and brother-in-law hired Justin and his team to paint their 100+ year old Craftsmen house. Since they live in Europe, I worked with Justin to coordinate the work. The estimate provided was very reasonable, the preparation work was done quickly and thoroughly in some nasty weather, Richard did a great job addressing carpentry woes that had not been addressed for a very long time, and the painting itself was meticulous -- Rafael and the rest of the crew take a lot of pride in doing making sure that everything looks great. The job is done now and as I walked around the house amazed at the transformation, I also noticed that you couldn't tell that painters had ever been there -- no paint chips, no masking tape, just a clean job. And they used some magic paint that allowed them to paint the house in February/March! Justin was incredibly responsive, texting back at 11 at night to respond to questions. Just great all around experience. read more

These guys take their job seriously. They always showed up when they said they would, exceeded my expectations, and did a professional job.My house looks great and I would definately recommend them to someone looking for a painting company for both their indoor and outdoor needs.
