I had made a trip there two days prior and was introduced to there unique paint color matching system where you can bring any paint color from a different company into them, and they'll be able to match it! The three walls I was able to complete over the weekend turned out great! The employee who helped my wife and I was helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. Today's experience was a complete 180. I had the pleasure of working with Jimmy. It was very clear Jimmy was having a bad day. I can't blame him... who really does like Mondays. Jimmy was showing his frustration left and right when told by employees he gave customers the wrong paint color. Jimmy kept shouting he hadn't don't anything wrong and said they can deal with it since Clover green is close enough to what they asked for. Jimmy was also short with me when I tried to use my friends and family discount coupon for 25% off. He was struggling to figure out how to register the coupon in the computer so needed to call for assistance. When he finally was able to figure out how to do it, he said "well boy get your phone out". After I swiped my card to complete the transaction, the receipt as shown does not say a discount was applied. I asked whether it was and was abruptly told "well yeah it's a $50 bucket of paint". Jimmy may have been having a rough day; however, emotions aside a customer should never be treated that way.

I was greeted upon entry and I told the clerk what I needed. He explained my options for exterior paint and calculated how much paint I would need. PPG sells to contractors and non-contractors alike. I purchased 5 gallons or exterior paint, 1 gallon of primer for the section of replacement wood and a few samples of interior paint. Prior to this home project I purchased paint from Home Depot or Lowe's. Since I've "discovered" PPG, Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore, I will not be going back to HD or Lowe's for paint. The overall customer experience is better at the professional paint stores and the price is comparable or cheaper (with your painter's contractor discount) and the product is superior.

The owner came out personally to evaluate the project and then completed the work with his brother. They pressure washed, scraped and sanded, repaired cracks, patched masonry, installed replacement wall caps, primed, and painted the wall. The finished result transformed the property. I also hired them to restore and repaint my deck. They pressure washed it, replaced more boards than expected, reinforced parts of the structure, and applied a beautiful finish that suits the home. The owner and his brother clearly take great pride in their work. I highly recommend Affinity Paints & Décor.

While most other stores have been pillaged this time of year by the incoming GT student throng, you'll be able to find exotic necessary items like shower curtain rings and plungers on the cheap. Save some time as well without having to drive OTP for a non-empty shelf. The only delay for us was picking from the mildly vast choices for each item. Should it be the plastic rings in one of three colors, or metal? Which of the five plunger types? We could stay for hours, but let's not get carried away. Near the register we noticed the array of fun non-hardware type items for sale. We'll have to hit that section up next time when not running to setup a college student's bathroom on the fly. Friendly speedy checkout experience--nearly surpass the Big Green Egg aroma outside the front door, almost. We'll drop these items off with the college peeps and head back to the burbs until next round.

As he walked me back to the key counter, he asked if I wanted any special keys such as keys in different colors. I said no, I just needed plain keys. The keys cost me $2.29 each. The total for the five keys after tax was $12.47. I've usually gotten my keys copied at Bates Ace Hardware on Howell Mill: https://www.yelp.com/biz/bates-ace-hardware-atlanta. Fairly recently, I also had copies made at the Intown Ace in Virginia-Highland: https://www.yelp.com/biz/intown-ace-atlanta-2. They're all generally about the same. Something new I learned from Hal at this visit is I never actually had to remove the key I wanted copied from my keychain. He was able to make copies for me with the primary key still attached to my keychain. In general, I'm a fan of Ace Hardware stores. They're a nice alternative to big-box Home Depot stores. They have much more of a local, community feel to them with better, more personable customer service. When I visited this Fixit Ace, the store wasn't busy. Multiple workers were available to assist. Ace Hardware can also be much faster and easier compared to Home Depot and Lowe's, depending on where you are. In the case of this Ace, I happened to be in the neighborhood running errands after my dentist appointment nearby. There are two "Fixit Ace Hardware" locations in Atlanta: this one in the Peachtree Battle shopping center (same as Publix) and a bigger location in North Buckhead / Chastain on Roswell Road (same strip as The Fresh Market). The two Fixit Ace Hardware stores have the same owner, Michael Harwell.
