The salesperson remembered me and was very friendly and helpful as I made my selection. She explained the wait to shake the can because I got a dark color and she also suggested a primer that would work well with the paint for the item I was decorating. I was also thankful that she gave me a contractor discount on the products because as you know Benjamin Moore is not cheap lol. Just an overall great experience and this was probably my 4th or 5th visit here.

To my surprise True Value said they had it in stock so I decided to head over and grab it. When I checked in on yelp at the store, I was surprised to see that I had a 10% off coupon. The woman at the register wasn't familiar with the discount, she said that she needed a code to enter in the system and there wasn't one. She called the owner over and he was also confused but honored the discount. You may not be so fortunate if you decide to go, because he said he may have set that up along time ago when he set up Yelp, and he probably needed to fix it. But I was happy to find the paint that I needed at a discount. I didn't take a lot of time to look around because I went for a specific purpose. But the store seems to be fully stocked.

I don't know if it was the owners that were working there, or who I was dealing with, but I know I'm not the only one that feels this way because the couple in front of me started to leave and turned around to introduce themselves by name and get the name of the woman who helped them. When was the last time you left a retail store and did that? I don't even want to price shop anything on Amazon because I do not want this store to go anywhere. With the quality, selection, and superb service they offer, I may just make the trip here more often than I thought. My local hardware store really put me in a bind a couple of weekends ago. I had reserved a core aerator the night before for a 4 hour time frame. When I got to the store, they told me that all of the rentals were out and they didn't have me on the list. Frustrated, I called everyone around and Locust Ace Hardware was the only place that had one. I talked to Zack over the phone and to my delight, Ace was $10 cheaper than any store near Charlotte. This made it (almost) worth the drive! Arrived early Saturday morning and not only was my unit ready, they had it sitting out front ready to load, which Zach and another employee did for me. The aerator was in great shape, clean, full of gas, and ready to go. When I got back they helped me get it back out of my van without question. Service-wise, these guys are above and beyond what I'm used to at a hardware store and honestly I wish they would set up shop near the University area! I needed a dozen of bags of compost on my second trip and Zack ran to the task of loading it for me. My one last item on my list, a 3" PVC sewer clean-cut cap, and Zack knew exactly what I was talking about, ran inside to grab it, and met me at the register. The store itself is well laid out with an extensive selection of all your springtime essentials. Their display of Stihl power tools and attachments was impressive and the Big Green Egg area was also more of a showcase than you would expect in your average hardware store. Fittingly, there is also a gun/knife shop in the back of the store. They have everything from your big brand pistols and rifles, to spare magazines, cleaning kits, ammo, and hard to find replacement parts. Almost worth the trip? No, definitely worth the trip! I can't believe I'm saying it but Ace Hardware Locust has won my business hands down. While I'll probably get my staple hardware needs from Lowes, it looks like I've found my home for big/special hardware purchases and equipment rentals.

They suggested Denver Produce but they did not have any of any size but the did say that Ingle's Supermarket had had them but were sold out of the hanging basket size. Tries a different Ingles on the way home in Westport but they did not have any as well. Backing up a day, on Saturday, Brawley Nursery had advertised on Facebook with accompanying photos of some beautiful plants. The back tire on my Audi had picked up a nail so had a late start and did not get there till 1:20 and they close at 1:00 pm on Saturday. They later posted on FaceBook that they still had plenty and they would be available when they opened on Monday at 8:30. 8:30 came and went and they did not open at least while I was there. It was just me and another employee and we were both locked out looking through over the gate. Went online to see if Pike had them but from the way the adv ready, you could order them and they would be ready in 2 to 3 days. Another words, it sounds like they are representing a 3-rd. party.
