The place is filled with stuff, there is almost no walking area, does it matter? No! He went into his back room and minutes later returned with all three items like the WIZARD OF OZ! I left, but quickly returned since I needed one washer as well, the packs were $1.50, he without me asking, offered to find one, lose washer, he did, only $.25! I literally gave him one quarter and left. Each part worked perfectly. I will go back, RadioShack didn't have what I needed but he did! It seemed that 'the minor' wanted to help, and was at the counter for service. (How was I supposed to know he didn't know how to cut them?!!!? He LOOKS like an adult! Why was he even ALLOWED to cut the keys?!!!?) After the first two not working, after going all the way back home to find out, I came all the way back for two working keys, which didn't work, either. No apology from either one of them- just 'I used the wrong key'. Then he made two more. Went back home, and they did NOT work. I should have known, because the customer in there right before me was yelling at the store owner. I just had no idea what they were yelling about. Horribly rude, incompetent service. The mistake would have been forgivable if the owner wouldn't blame the customer(s) about something that's so clearly both their fault. Then he got angry and yelled at me for wanting a refund after FOUR keys didn't work- I wasn't going to go all the way back AGAIN- I would give him negative stars and revoke his 'service' store. HE HAD ONE JOB. Yelling about why your workers are incompetent really does not help your cause. (FYI, after about 8 minutes of his tirade, eventually he said they didn't work because the key was a copy. It wasn't, it was an original. I just wanted to see what he had to say for himself afterwards. If that were even a true reason, he never once mentioned it before.)

I went in there recently to buy a wrench to tweak the saddle height on my bike and was not too amused. One of the employees made it clear that he didn't want me working on my bike there, which I wasn't planning to do. My plan was to buy the wrench and work on the bike outside. The guy at the checker did not seem too knowledgeable or interested in helping. I went in there expecting them to take a look at the part I wanted to work on and to be given some advice on how to take it on. I left with a wrench that did not help me with the repair i needed, and was told that I could not return the tool even though I had purchased it about 2 minutes before. I don't typically leave reviews, but I hope that this can motivate small shops like this one to continue to do all that they can when someone comes in requesting some guidance. My experience today made me feel less guilty of buying things online rather than supporting small mom and pop shops like this one, which i admit, sucks to say...

I love quality tools and secretly wished I had the training and experience to be able to use everything in renovation/ construction. Here, the owner has spent years learning what his community needs and he offers wonderful variety and choice in many hardware product areas. He is especially attentive hardworking gracious and accommodating -- service is outstanding. AND if he doesn't have it, he offers to try to find it! I really avoid Home Depot..... Lowes is not as bad, but these old fashioned neighborhood hardware stores may not be the least expensive alternative , but the friendship relationship hands on practical advice and wonderful help create an always pleasant experience. And, GREATLY add to a comfortable bond to one's neighborhood.
