The guys who work there are very friendly and helpful. They even gave me a free (formerly filled with merchandise) box and tape once when I came in to buy a box and packing materials to ship something and their boxes for sale didn't fit appropriately. I have had keys made here, and they did the job very quickly with an excellent product. Overall, there is a standard, appropriate selection of NYC hardware store goods, from light bulbs to fans to paint, and there are always several employees around to help you. I've never had to wait in line to pay for more than 5 minutes. If you need hardware supplies and are in this area, I heartily recommend 165th Hardware. Also, they fluently speak both English and se hablan espanol!
