Originally I went to McCormick to match the paint that was used by my builder but McCormick's friendly customer service and great quality paints keeps me returning. I think it also helped that they gave me a fan deck (thank you!) on my first visit which I still use. I've used many gallons of their paints. I've also used a variety of their products and I've only had one issue - a low VOC paint that skunked. Indoors I've used 1st Step primer, Total Advantage and Revo on my walls and Advantage (now discontinued) and Revo on my trim. Outdoors I've used the State House exterior paint. When I had to paint metal railings outside I trusted their Interlock Direct to Metal paint. All of these paints went on easily and have held up great. As a bonus, they sell caulk in their standard paint trim colors like White Shadow and Cool Platinum which is super helpful!

Normally I would not hesitate to repaint the ceiling, but in this case it was part of a utility/laundry room that has a lot ducts blocking portions of the ceiling drywall. So I wanted to do the best I could to paint the drywall repair in the ceiling yet blend it to match the paint I could not reach. Ellicott City Team McCormik to the rescue: Tall order and I had little hope since I no longer had a paint code and was sure the paint formulation had changed so much over the last 15 years there was no hope to get a match. But the guys at the Ellicott City McCormick Paints store were an amazing help to me. They knew my development and not only had a pretty good idea what the old paint code probably was, they also had a paint chip I could take home to see if it matched. Sure enough it did and I was able to blend in the paint from the repair with the surrounding and difficult ceiling area. Great product knowledge, customers service and price. This dude was so instantly nasty to me, dismissive, condescending, just awful. I literally don't even know what I did wrong but try and buy a stack of books and try to get a discount cos I was buying a whole stack! Never ever before met a rude person here in the twenty years I've been coming (since before ravens stadium was built and they were across the street). I've bought thousands of dollars worth of appliances here (2 $500 stoves, a $1000 fridge, two dishwashers, and two washers and dryers), not to mention hundreds upon hundreds worth of lumber, trim, windows, doors, miscellaneous hardware, etc. I bought 400 dollars worth of upholstery cloth one time alone. I come in, I don't mess around, I know what I need and I am a friendly nice customer. (Because they use your phone number when you buy, also? they should be able to SEE this). I was buying BOOKS. I'd have paid literally 10 for every set of four of these books at thrift. They wanted 10 and 15 dollars EACH. It wasn't just he wouldn't deal at all on price. He had his hand on his walkie talkie and when I kind of laughed just thinking he was driving a bargain he said he was going to call security on me!!!!
