I recommended The Fireplace Shop create a YouTube video to inform potential customers of fireplace basics BEFORE visiting. The information was that good. Our plans to DIY replace a collection of hardware store fireplace doors and grate and have a separate company do a chimney inspection/repair are gone. Bad idea! If we do this job, we'll do it right! BTW- our solution was NOT to hire the Fireplace Shop to do the job. They have trusted referrals for a comprehensive one-stop solution. That's what we want! Ryan was bang on time, pleasant to chat with, and asked all the right questions to write a detailed estimate for me. He made clear what was included in the write-up, and how extra costs would be calculated so there were no surprises. (My window trim needed repair and replacement, so was priced to time and materials since I wasn't sure of the ultimate condition.) My house required multiple days of work for the trim repair, powerwash and prep of the old painted surface, priming, and final coat, and each day the crew let me know where they were in the process and what to expect the next day. They even beautifully matched a pre-existing exterior color I had no paint code for without trouble. The final invoice with carpentry work was exceptionally reasonable for the excellent work and attention to detail displayed by the entire team, who were 100% respectful of my house, grounds, and person.
