Where do I begin? Worst hotel ever. I left my phone by mistake and boarded shuttle. Called the hotel and being placed on hold for what would seem hours became the norm. Front desk rude and inept and seemed irritated by my calls. My phone was turned in by their shuttle driver. He is the only redeeming part of this story. I will let me friend know that if you want to spend a huge amount of money and be treated like crap this is the place for you. Loud AC and indifferent employees make for a really bad experience. read more

Don't stay here unless you are okay with them charging you for something you did not order and then refusing to give your money back or even following up with any sort of explanation. Stayed here on Aug 4th. Checked in around 8:45pm - after having dinner with a client and taking an Uber from the restaurant to the hotel. When I checked out the next morning, there was a $50 charge on my account for room service dinner. I informed them that I had not order room service, for dinner, for breakfast, for anything. The front desk receptionist said she would look into it. Nothing. Charge was applied to my credit card a couple days later. Called a week later and spoke to someone in accounting who said he would look into it and call me back later that day. Never called. Almost 3 weeks later the charge has not been reversed, and I'm now disputing it with Amex. Poor customer service. read more

Difficult to find - "Sheraton" sign is at 3rd story covered by a tree, impossible to see when driving down the street. Nothing at eye level indicates a Sheraton exists. Bar closed when I arrived at 11:15pm - bummer when your frustrated by not be able to find the place Agree with others, showers not hot, just barely warm enough to not be called cold. Internet is horrible. Used the hotspot on my phone instead. read more

I was turned off by this hotel due entirely to the poor housekeeping I experienced. Upon check-in, I discovered a half eaten cookie in the drawer, a plastic flosser by the desk, stains on the sheets, and dried poopy on the toilet seat. While this may be a one-off incident, the person who cleaned the room prior to my arrival is probably still working there since this happened last week. Good luck and wipe the seat. read more

If you pass Go, then go elsewhere. I gave the hotel two stars because of its excellent location: it is within easy walking distance to the Metro and vivacious downtown Silver Spring, which is a lively, multicultural area with lots of restaurants, shopping, and great activities, such as a fountain for kids and live music. There is also a Starbucks adjacent to the hotel which has a decent variety of stuff for a small store, and which has a very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel restaurant made an absolutely gorgeous fruit bowl for me, generous, fresh, and tasty, and the restaurant staff were all pleasant. But the cons, oh the cons. The room was a bit worn, but the bed was comfortable. The cleaning was slipshod, the soap is tiny even for a hotel, there is no fridge, we received one free bottle of water upon arrival as a "welcome" favor, and none thereafter. Soiled trays and dishes were left outside the doors of some rooms for as many as 16 hours. Worst of all was what was an obvious taxi scam, probably aimed at unsuspecting out-of-towners. My husband requested a cab for a ride to downtown DC. After a few minutes, one of the staff directed him to an SUV. The driver insisted on $45 for a trip downtown. My husband refused, again requesting a taxicab. After a few minutes, the same staff person directed him to ANOTHER SUV, with the driver demanding $40. My husband decided to try to flag down a cab on the street. When he found one, the driver told him that many hotel desk staff members receive kickbacks from car services, so they try to steer folks to them instead of to a taxi, which would be much cheaper. I can't prove that this was the case, but my suspicion is nine on a scale of one to 10. I'm stayed at various hotels, and I'm not fussy. I do expect a hotel with a name like Sheraton to have a higher standard of quality and integrity. read more

GO else where! made a reservation thru corporate reservations that was dated incorrect by the agent, they are claiming that they arent responible for crediting it back, it could of been taken care of and the property would of been 800-1000 ahead by a future reservation, just not quite sure how this helps the bottom line?? I dont recommend this property if issues where before check in just think about how the property would be at check in read more

Worst service of all time in the restaurant. Takes more than an hour to get a meal, either lunch or dinner. Like a government-run restaurant in a third world country. These people have no idea what service means. Certainly not worthy of the Sheraton name. This hotel restaurant has been operating like this for years, as I've been coming here only because I had to for federal government meetings. Notoriously bad. Avoid this hotel at all costs. read more

My wife and i went here for a fund raiser...sixty five bucks a pop...i was given a tiny piece of pork for an appetizer...(mind you) that i dont go around trying to bash places...but for 65 bucks...the rice was crunchy underdone...the chicken and fish were overdone...our waiter was trying his best...but to pay 65 bucks for that quality is insulting....everyone at our table complained...i didnt even eat the food...and for five bucks a soft drink is pretentious...i wont be eating there again read more

One star because though we purchased 3 nights stay at the hotel, the hotel canceled the reservation, yet they still charged us! Now we've got to go through the hassle of disputing the charge with our CC. read more

First: Beautiful Lobby. Clean rooms. Very Friendly staff. Now, a few suggestions for management: If you're going to charge a lot more than nearby hotels, have a better hotel. Charge for internet? Really? I had to pay 12 bucks to write this review. Room air was stuffy and smelled of cigarettes past. Valet is a joke, either get rid of it or hire more people to take care of it. I valet'd then in the morning, I came to pick up my car at 6:45am and I was asked if I can wait until the valet started work at 7? I had to find my car in the parking lot, not told they keep the cars on a special level. Put valet'd car keys somewhere under constant supervision and not around the corner from staff where they can easily be taken unnoticed. Not sure why but there was a lot of rust in my tap water. It was dark red when I filled the tub. I just rolled my eyes and started a shower since there is nothing I could do about it. Not a clean feeling and yes, it was very hard water. All of these minor on their own but together, they show lacking attention to detail. Maybe it's just a continuing adjustment to a recent or ongoing renovation, in that case keep in mind that when charging full price, you suggest that the hotel is at full speed, which it is not. read more

This hotel sucks a thorough amount of donkey genitalia. Earlier this summer, I embarked from Dulles (IAD) with a group on an intensive study abroad course in the Middle East. Our departing flight was canceled due to inclement weather among other excuses and, during the long process of recalculating our plans, and because all closer hotels within our budget were booked, we made a last-minute reservation at the Sheraton Silver Spring. We arrived late at night, already disheartened from our prior delay at Dulles, and were welcomed by a clerk who informed us that our reservation did not exist, even though it did--we had proof by way of confirmation emails. After roughly 45 minutes of finagling, the clerk finally granted us shelter. Me and three others from my group were assigned one room with two queen-sized beds. When we arrived at our room, the door was unlocked and ajar, the dirty bedding from the previous occupants had not been changed for us, and trash was everywhere. On top of this nightmare, the noisy AC kept us awake throughout the night. Credit where credit is due: the shower was nice, as was the complimentary breakfast. read more

Great place to stay. If you are needing to stay in the DC area for business or a tourist trip, this place is perfect. A very short walk to the metro and downtown silver spring. I love the food at the Hotel. I ordered Room Service and the server was great!! The bar and restaurant is great. The morning Wait staff are amazing. Tanya, Judy and Manuel are just amazing. The night Bar Staff always upbeat and easy to talk to. The Managers at the Hotel can't be better. The GM is extremely friendly and runs a great crew. Karen is wonderful. She is always around and talks to everyone. Karen is doing a fantastic job with every aspect she puts your mind to. The food is delicious. The Chef has created a great menu and always changing it. Thank you Sheraton Silver Spring read more

My family reunion was held at this hotel in June 2014. Although the staff was friendly and courteous, when I checked out, I found out the hotel had charged me $3,200 in additional to my room fees. This amount was deducted from my bank card. When I contacted the General Manager, he said he would correct the problem. However, it was a full 8 days later before Sheraton put the money back into my account. Even though I wrote the corporate office and reported this to BBB, the Sheraton has yet to contact me to apologize or make any compensation....Nor have they responded to BBB emails regarding this issue. This was 4th of July weekend and I did not have access to my bank funds because of this error. They also did the same thing to my cousin, deducting an additional $300 from his bank account. I will never stay again! Poor Management and ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

This is in reference only to the general manager Sheldon Johnson. I think he is unprofessional, rude, and does not treat his employees at the Starbucks well at all. He also does not stay true to his word. I am beyond upset that he treats the people who work so hard and people I see every day so poorly. Get a new manager Sheraton read more

I would rate this place a zero. Customer service front desk takes no accountability for issues. I had to call four times and finally walked down and waited an hour to get basic essentials soap trash bag and face towels. They refused to get the manager. The first day house keeping did not clean the room at all. Then provided a lame excuse as to why they didn't clean up. When they did decide to Grace us with their presence they left dirty dishes (oat meal and wine glasses) on the table and didn't provide a trash bag. They didn't pick anything up our clean at all just dropped off towel and made bed. When front desk pages house keeping, none came over or even answer the phone. A lady treo with a broken got had to go hunt down towels and soak to take a shower, very irritating. Ordered room service for breakfast and they completely screwed up the food order missing good items and subpar food. We asked for brown sugar and the sugar was so old that it hardened from heat plus the container was not covered. The restaurant was had huge nat issues so look out for bugs in your food and or drink. Managers are nowhere to be good.horrible experience. Don't waste your money go somewhere else. read more

Good: within walking distance of restaurants. Easy access from I-495. Convenient parking. Not so good: The toilet in my room didn't flush properly. The carpet in my room was stained. There was no light by my closet, making it very difficult to see in the closet Very loud AC About 75% of the front desk people were not very friendly The restaurant's food is OK but not worth the prices they charge WiFi was weak in the conference room my group used No outlets in the conference room, other than a few along the wall. Made it difficult to recharge laptops and other devices during my conference. Entire hotel had no hot water on one of the mornings I was there. After the hot water failure the hotel gave some guests a note of apology, but not others. Not that I care about whether or not I received the note, but it's an example of the hotel's lack of consistency Ordered room service breakfast to be delivered between 6:30 and 6:45 but it didn't arrive until 6:50 (5 minutes can be a big deal when you're on a tight schedule) The bottom drawer of my dresser didn't push in all the way. On one night I put my breakfast order out on my doorknob and the next morning it was still there... Room service breakfast was wrong order. Sometimes you had to insert your room key card to get the elevator to go to your floor, and sometimes you didn't. Sometimes the doors from the stairs were locked, sometimes they weren't. It seems like this was probably a nice hotel when it was built but has gone downhill. read more

I made a reservation for a room with two double beds. None were available. There were no rollaway beds available either. The people at the front desk didn't seem concerned and acted as though this happens all the time. The people behind me in line also booked a room with double beds and did not get it. The air conditioning in the room did not cool properly. As such, it never achieved the temperature it was set to and the humidity was not taken out of the air. Self parking is $14. On the positive side, we did find some bobby pins on the floor of the room. read more

I will start by saying the hotel is very clean and that's my only good review of the hotel. Our first morning waking up at the hotel, we weren't completely ready for housekeeping to come in and we were up and getting ready at 9 am. I have never been in a hotel where housekeeping comes before 10-10:30, so we asked if she could come right back to our room after she cleans the one next to us because we were about to leave within 10 minutes. We leave and come back and our room is still dirty. My friend who's name the room was under was upset that she didn't come back and asked if I could call for someone to come back up. I had to call three times before someone came up and waited over an hour. This was closer to the evening so there is no way that housekeeping was busy. We go to explore around Silver Spring in hopes that when we come back, the room would be clean. It was. Shortly after being back we get a phone call from the room. The front desk informs my friend that a $250 fine is being added to the bill because we smoked in the room. If the hotel is non-smoking and I called three times for room service...why would we smoke in the room? We would be trying to hide the fact that we smoked in the room, not get someone to clean it. Furthermore, if we smoked in the room, people would have complained which no one did. The manager, Aire, I'm assuming who she was but couldn't tell because she let's others make decisions for her did not help the situation at all. I tried to assure her that there was no smoking in the room and if she could follow me to the room she wouldn't smell any lingering smoke like the housekeeper wrongly accused of us. She wouldn't go and said she's taking the housekeeper's word for it. I'm not sure what type of establishment let's foreign housekeepers give a say so over a manager but it's definitely not a well ran one. I spoke to my friend about what was said and he advised that we check out early and that's exactly what we did. The housekeeper was clearly upset she had to come back and do her job over and wanted to try to be spiteful and say we smoked in the room when we did not. What did she gain from that? A cookie? A pat on the back? I hope she got promoted to manager for being a liar. I will close with this, you can't get far from being lazy or greedy and that's all the staff at this hotel showed. Also, karma is a b***h. read more

This is an update to my earlier review. As I was quite upset about the air conditioning not working and after speaking to four people at the hotel with nothing done, I decided to contact Sheraton Corporate in an effort to negotiate my $275 per night stay for two nights as I just felt it wasn't fair to pay full price for a room with no functioning air conditioning, not to mention the horrible service. After going through the corporate channels for five days, they finally advised me that only the hotel manager could negotiate pricing. I again spoke to the hotel manager and he confirmed that they refused to negotiate pricing and that they would only offer me 'points'. Well, unfortunately, I don't use points, nor will I ever use a Sheraton again. Totally disappointing experience all around. read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a Starbucks I had the barista with blue hair she didn't even see me when I walked in because she was on her phone. She must have been having a bad day she was upset because I asked her how the cake pops taste because I always wanted to try one she mumbles (I wish people just knew what they wanted ) how rude. I had also changed my mind on my drink that she hadn't even made yet and she mumbles (I see why people spit in people's stuff they're annoying as hell ) and the other employee who was working laughed. The girl was very rude and when I asked for a manager she said in a rude way that the Manager wasn't there. I was about to be late for work so I just let go. But this girl was very rude and unprofessional. read more

Stayed with my fiancé last weekend for a night because our power was out due to the wind storm. The front desk staff were very welcoming and friendly. In addition, I appreciated their safety practices (common sense but not everywhere practices common sense) in regards to giving out room info and room keys. My fiancé left the room to run and get coffee and forgot his key. The elevator to the guest rooms doesn't work without a key. He stopped to get one, but because his name wasn't on the reservation the front desk called me to verify it was okay to allow him to come up. Again, this should be common sense, but I greatly appreciated the small step they took to ensure guest safety. The bed was extremely comfortable and regular king guest room was spacious. 4 stars because the hot water turned on full blast wasn't hot enough, and the bartender on duty as we stopped to get a post dinner drink was not very friendly. Would stay again! read more

I feel horrible that I even recommended my sisters to stay here. This hotel is the absolute WORST hotel out of any hotel I have ever stayed in. Not only did the front desk guests refuse to give a discount that is offered but then forced a handicapped/ assistance accessible room on to them without asking them when it really should be used for the individuals that need it. When they shared that with the front desk they told them that allows them to have more room. The room only had one out f two headboards and we were told it's only wall art so it's not required. Then the lights were out and the closet due to the type of room only fits one persons items but there were 4! To top it all off the room was never cleaned and the front desk just provided towels and wash cloths and the air was broken in spring heat. Listen to me and remember what I said that you should never in all life stay at this horrible hotel the customer service is the absolute worse! Stay anywhere else but here. Trust me. Horrible. Never ever ever again. I will never tell anyone that they should stay here again. Sixteen thumbs down! read more
