First was informed that my reservation of a king bed was no good and we were given two doubles, which was not ideal. Staff appeared upset we were there. Get into the room and immediately realized the floor was staining our feet brown, and was also sticky by the door. Go to put drinks in the fridge and it is unplugged (and very difficult to plug in as the stand was not movable). Turn on TV and it is blurry to the point you can't read it. Go to the bathroom and there is a pubic hair and a booger on the shower wall. The molding behind the door was rotted away. Water pressure was nonexistent and refused to get hot one day. One day our room was not cleaned (which isn't a huge deal but is an expected perk of staying somewhere). Some towels had very visible stains. Directions to ice machine led nowhere. There was a large gap under the door so you could hear everything happening outside if the AC was off. Overall a terrible experience. read more

As Linda indicates in the review below me, it's a pretty sorry place with a very rude/uncaring staff. Room smelled like smoke and the TV was broken. Even when I reported the broken TV to the front desk, they didn't fix it. The one advantage is it's well located off of Georgia Avenue, close to the Silver Spring Metro and MARC trains, and the 70 bus, which goes downtown to the National Archives. After my terrible stay at this property I let a few days pass so that my absolute rage did not come out in this review. I understand completely that this is a day's inn and my expectations should be lower but even I was surprised by the drastic change between the images of the property and my experience at the property. I'll keep it short and sweet. We checked in to this crime scene at night when it was too late to go to another property period as we entered the room we noticed everything was not right and immediately notified the front desk via phone. While on the phone with london she hung up on me so I went downstairs. After completing the customer in front of me london got rude and response to my inquiring is to why she hung up while we were still talking. I asked to speak to a manager. Some lady named melay presented herself and began to converse with me in regarding the room. When i explained the conditions of the room, and please view the pictures, I was met with laughter. I've contacted the health department and the Mayor's office. I won't stop til I get enough. I could not handle the smell of the lobby, I couldn't tell if it was only Marijuana or mold or what. My room (102) had almost no trim on it's door, therefore I could see outside when my door was closed and air would come in. The individual AC/Heat unit worked just fine, as did the TV, microwave, the windows, curtains and lights. The headboard was completely off the wall and the wall was exposed with a ton of repeated failed efforts to reattach the headboard to the wall. There were exposed nails (sticking up) at the entrance of the bathroom that cut my foot and I'd use towels to cover it and prevent further injury. The bathroom sink was cracked. The bathroom hairdryer was missing. The hot water wasn't available in the mornings. The refrigerator was non functional. I wasn't aware until I came back to my room to store my food and drinks and my food went bad. The rooms carpet was SO BLACK and dirty that my socks were soaked in dirt after walking around for less than an hour, I had to get extra towels not for the shower...but for the floors so I could walk on them. The comforter only had about 25 burn marks in them. I was only given 3 small pillows, 4 would have been a minimum. The desk chair was so incredibly dirty and needed to be wiped down. I did see a roach while I was showering. No Shampoo or conditioner was provided. Will I ever come back? NEVER - How embarrassing - I feel it needs to be bulldozed. A horrific experience to say the least. I need to preface this by saying that none of the stock pictures on the review page or any page that represents this specific location are remotely accurate. They are fake and used by the corporation themselves as placeholders. The photos posted by others are entirely accurate and represent the actual location. When we first arrived, it looked as what you expected: a cheap hotel. However, when you walk into the check in lobby, it reeked of old mop water, had a grimy wet look, and the place looked run down. Another guest finished their check in and said they to the clerk they would only be staying for 3 hours. We checked in and within the time frame of myself and my friend checking in and going to our room (about 5 minutes) my friend's wallet was stolen. The are cameras at the front behind the check in counter, and the refused to assist us until we had a LEO come in and make them check their own security footage so we could find out where it went. As soon as the manager saw the police officer, he INSTANTLY dropped his rude attitude and began assisting us. It was found at a Subway nearby and returned to him, the money inside missing of course. We got to our room and it reeked of cigarettes despite it being non smoking. It was located almost directly next to the main street, with an open, unsecured door next to our room leading outside the building. There was what sounded like constant domestic disputes and families fighting with children constantly crying all the time. The floors were damp and sticky in many spots, large coal-sized burn holes littered the floor, and there were tons of stains of various colors all over the floors. We immediately checked the beds to make sure there were no bed bugs, and there were none thank goodness. The entire rest of the hotel smelled so strong of marijuana it was like being at a Jimmy Hendrix concert. Rats were everywhere at night. They were practically swimming in all the trash cans. This place is an absolute dumpster fire on ice. Hilton needs to get their name off this place and it straight up needs to be condemned. read more

Stayed a night here while I was in town for work and it was honestly terrible, the WiFi was slow, there tv you can bearly see anything with there poor connection & the only outlet that worked was in the bathroom. FIrst impression: Office has bullet proof partition at front desk...HINT. I made a reservation online for a king non smoking...a week ago. After some shuffling around I was assigned a room on the second floor. The exterior is filthy and in need of extensive repair. Door lock didnt work so I had to go get another room. Door key worked to a room that I doubt section 8 would pay for today. Crime scene...maybe. im going to order food delivered as I dont want to take everything back out to the car to keep it safe. This is the worst Hotel I have ever been in. It reeks of mold. Wallpaper coming off of the walls. This is suppose to be the Capital of the Nation, why isn't this place cleaner?!? The pillows are extra small and hard, not firm but hard. Very uncomfortable bed. I do not recommend! My husband set our reservations online which showed entirely different pictures and environment! It is really hard to review this hotel by "star rating" due to the fact that we DID save money by staying here- so we did expect a little less than "decent standards." However, this place was actually really gross to even think I stayed here. My husband and I are absolutely not "high class" or needy people. We simply booked a hotel for us to spend less than 6 hours at a time in for when we came back from the city to sleep- So we went with the hotel on the "cheaper (not cheap by any means)" option. I did think that the price was over the top for what we got with the room. It was nearly closet sized- and just pretty much run down. The mini fridge in our room didn't work and its like maybe half ply toilet paper- Lol. On the brighter side- this was only several blocks from the metro which realllllly helped us out! It was cheaper than other hotels in the area and not too far from the center of D.C. The customer service was actually great as well. I had the hotel staff come in to change all of our sheets & blankets (I guess in that way I'm picky about where I rest my head/body), and they were willing to do so. So accommodating to our needs was very nice. I wouldn't knock this place out of my options for next time, but It will definitely never be my first choice in the future. read more

Still terrible, the reviews are right. I didn't check thoroughly (which is fine with me, I literally had no other option but to stay here), but I didn't see any sign of bed bugs on my bed/mattress. The room is so run down, carpet is pulling up, the ceilings are poorly spackled-over and stained with many brown puddly-looking bloches from past leaks. The carpet is also stained, my bed spread looked like it had a burn hole in it, and I was just super uneasy staying here and didn't sleep well. The man who checked me in was cold, bordering on rude behind the bullet proof glass. I'm glad I had a last minute place to stay, but there's a reason that EVERY SINGLE OTHER hotel was booked, except the Days Inn and Travel Lodge. Stay away if you can -YUCK. read more

6/22/23 I really wish I'd read the reviews before booking a 4 night stay. Visiting museums & the areas monuments were my intended venues. Room 111, hole in the wall of the air conditioner & mouse dropping trail found, changed to room 106, sitting on the bed watching TV mouse came from under the bed, moved to another room 101 was so scary that I put all of my bags in the car. I wasn't taking a chance on taking any mice home or have them piss on my clothes! I shot out of Washington the next morning. Worst place I've ever stayed. I didn't feel safe. Wi-Fi offered was non exsistent. I had to go to Whole Foods daily to connect with work, staff acted like something was wrong with my corporate computer. Rooms don't have a phone, hangers, a box of tissue, iron or ironing board, not even a bible. The photos & amenities stated don't exist here. They're renting rooms to homeless individuals who are extended stay guests at both the Travel Lodge & Days Inn. Totally sketchy & colorful characters roaming the property throughout. 1 security camera pointing towards the lobby entrance. The female manager asked me don't we have rodents in New Jersey? like I should be ok with mice in my room, she offered to put traps in the room the next day in the meantime I should be ok with them crawling around while I slept and or getting in the bed with me. The staff was uncaring, unapologetic and didn't offer a Thank you for your stay. I will be excalating this complaint to Days Inn headquarters I was totally robed for my hard earned money! read more

Worst Days Inn I've ever experienced! Let me start off by saying, my boyfriend and I travel A LOT due to the fact that he is a construction worker. Therefore, we usually stay at Days Inn hotels because they are with Wyndham rewards. We don't expect much when staying at a hotel, and we aren't picky or "stuck up" when it comes to staying at a hotel/motel. That said, for us to not like this Days Inn is a very big deal. Here's a few of the reasons this hotel is one of the worst rip offs we've come across: 1. As soon as we pulled in, we noticed the pool had a tarp over it. The website advertised having a pool. We asked the front desk why the pool was closed, and the person working responded that it was under construction. My boyfriend is a construction worker, and he knows for a fact there is no work whatsoever being done to the pool. 2. The price!! I know this is located in the city, but the price is way too expensive for what you get! We used our Wyndham points since we expected this hotel to be on the pricier side. They charged us the rate for a 5 star hotel! And there was no refunds (no surprise there, as we booked over the phone and had no idea what kind of place this was going to be.) *No breakfast *Pool is unavailable *Ice machine was broken *"High-speed wifi didn't even work on the far end of the hotel, which was a bummer, since we need wifi to work *Room size for a double bed/smoking was SMALL to say the least (I will get more into this) 3. The size of the room is the size of two jail cells. There is about 1 ft walking room between the TV and there was about 2 ft of space around the sides of the bed. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the size of this room! All of the Days Inns we have stayed at have had medium to extra large sized rooms, even in the city. 4. The microwave caught on fire. Ancient! 5. The TV is from the 90s and had about 10-12 channels, 3 of which were totally useless because of the static. We also travel with a PS4 to watch Netflix, so whenever we get a room with an old TV (no HDMI hookup) it's pretty boring come night time. 6. No pets allowed. Again, every Days Inn we've stayed at has allowed pets for a small fee. 7. There are more Disabled parking spots than regular spots. We drive two large trucks, so parking them was a nightmare. There is so much more I could say about this Days Inn, but my review is now the size of a novel. All I can say is, DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF STAYING AT DAYS INN OF SILVER SPRING! So disgusted with this place. I HAD MICE IN MY ROOM. Yes plural, mice ! There were 2 mice in my room and there was mouse poop in my bed. I called the front desk and they expected me to STAY THE NIGHT IN THE ROOM until the morning. They did not offer to change the sheets nor did they supply traps for these nasty rodents. I had a toddler in the room (age 1 1/2) and they STILL did nothing. I had to personally go to the desk to complain. Then the guy hands me a set of sheets and expects me to change them myself ! I've been to many Days Inn Hotels and I've never seen a crappier one then this. Most of the Days Inn I've been to had some standards.. This was below substandard. Many of the people here are loud and obnoxious people staying here, and My father said it should be known an a Motel 6. I thought that was disrespectful to Motel 6. As soon as we pulled in my whole family felt this place was a bit shady. We had a horrible experience as I type this I'm at the hotel. The night started off with us checking in... Going to our rooms and realizing the AC doesn't work. We dragged all our items into the room before checking ... We were furious. My parents room was OK, but it was so dirty and grimey. I called the front desk, they informed me the maintenance guy doesn't come till the AM. I demanded to switch rooms at this point. I ended up getting a refund for the other days that I planned to stay here, and we only paid for one night. My wife was frustrated, and we dragged our stuff to the other side of the hotel. We checked in at 10p..and we had a 3 year old baby with us. We didn't sleep till 12am. We had to stay here one night, I booked online the Holiday Inn Express next door before I went to bed. Customer Service was good when I called after I booked at Holiday Inn express . I did not want my family to live in this shady days inn. DO NOT COME HERE! If you're not picky and don't need ice or a hair dryer or don't mind rough toilet paper, then this place could be ok for you. There's a Subway next door, if you like Subway. What I didn't like was when I asked the guy behind the counter if they had ice and he pointed that it was upstairs but when we looked for it we found that it was not working and looked like it hadn't been working for some time. The problem began in finding the room. This Days Inn shares space with the Travel Lodge . Signs were either absence or invisible. If you are carrying heavy luggage up and down the stairs be prepared to be lost and frustrated. Once we found the room my roommate and I noticed that the beds were of a good size and the décor was overall nice, cozy, and comfortable. Unfortunately, there were many issues that were also present. The bathroom had leaky facets in the sink & shower. My roommate noticed black markings in the tub and had to place a towel inside when taking a shower. The sink (when in use) would fill with water & clog. The complimentary toiletries were really sad. Only 1 bottle of shampoo & 2 bars of soap. Neither conditioner nor lotion was provided. There was also a giant water stain on the ceiling & the soap rest was broken but had been replaced near its original location. The TV reception was "snowy". Upon closer inspection the cable wire to the TV had been ripped. A dresser drawer was missing. My roommate noticed hair on her pillow & decided to sleep at the end of the bed. In the morning as I was gathering my things I looked down near the night stand & saw a used condom on the floor. I was disgusted & couldn't wait to get out of there. The hotel didn't provide any breakfast, which was fine by me. I wasn't going to eat anything they would have provided. Needless to say I wouldn't recommend this hotel. I am usually willing to stay in cheaper motels to save a little money, including run down hostels abroad, but this was the worst place I have ever stayed. There were blood stains on the carpet, the bathroom had hair and grime everywhere, the room REEKED of old cigarette smoke despite being "non-smoking," the tv barely worked, we had to look up reddit suggestions for how to get the wifi to work (we did eventually; thanks, reddit!), the carpet and bedspread had cigarette burns, the towels were stained, and we were only supplied with half a roll of toilet paper. The location was hard to find, the parking was difficult, the place was not clean, the room was difficult to locate (they need more signs in the hallways) and there was no breakfast service (even continental) which is extremely dissapointing for the price. $113 for this poor accomodation? The photos they show on line are not even from the hotel. The place listed a restaurant on line and they had a Subway at the Hotel next door so I guess that counts.It also listed a pool, I guess the puddle out in parking lot from the rain covered that also. This is a Wyndham hotel so I was not expecting it to be so bad. Yes Priceline was nice to offer to cancel the reservation after they called and verified the Hotel did not have what they advertised, but 4th of July weekend in DC where was I going to find another room for 3 days that did not have a high price due to check in same day. This place is old, worn and disgusting. The rugs were worn & stained. The TV worked but was stuck on one channel and one volume. The desk lamp did not work. There was hair in the shower and on the bathroom floor, as well as a used shampoo bottle. The towels were discolored. I was lucky to have soap. No shampoo. The worst hotel I ever visited! Shower did not work, Both stoppers on bath tub and sink were broken, hair dryer did not work, TV had very poor picture, and I could not get internet connection. When I asked for help with the internet, I was told that problem is with my PC, though the internet informed me that Days Inn has no connection... That is just the plain technical stuff. I would like to give this hotel 0 stars!!! First of all the front desk smelled like sewage when we were checking in! Ummm, no thanks! We asked the manager if we can see our room first because we had a feeling...and we were right!!!! The "non smoking rooms" smelled like someone just put out a cigarette!!! The hotel room lights weren't working and the bathroom was just disturbing!!! We did not stay...do yourself the favor and not trust the photos online! They are sooooo out dated. Even though I didn't see any roaches, it's basically a Roach Motel. Folks were washing their cars in the parking stalls, hanging out in the parking lot, and talking about drug deals on their cells. Booked the non-smoke king suite with the private bathroom in the living room when I got there they gave us a smoke free room with absolutely no space at all everything was falling apart, the water from the sink was brown, dead bedbugs under the pillows, toilet seat was broken and cockroaches on the curtains. Went to complain at the front desk and they refused to give me the room I initially booked that WAS confirmed from the manager... they refused to give me the room and they gave me a hard time to refund my money. At first it was issues with the credit card being used and they seemed to handle that pretty well but then I stepped into the room and it was the wrong size bed( full instead of a king) I went back and that's when it went downhill.
