I stayed here the 15-17 of May for my birthday. I chose this due to location. There's a lot of very nice places downtown. My mother is a titanium elite member with Marriott and booked the room for my birthday. Let's keep in mind this is a SHERATON hotel. This hotel cost 620913 hotel points. Standard points used for Marriott hotels is usually 30-50k per night. So you can say this was pretty damn expensive. Not to mention they placed a 125$ hold on my card for two nights which is absurd. They have a 30$/night destination fee which is basically pay is 30/night because we want money even though we also charge a poop ton for parking and WiFi usage. And then accidental hold. I was excited because I've never stayed at a Sheraton in downtown before. Upon entering the room my spirit was immediately crushed. The size of the room is probably the same as a 1bedroom apartment. I was expecting a little bigger since this was a bedroom suite with city view. Going through the room I was not impressed. For a bedroom suite there was no kitchen sink, microwave, dish ware, or utensils. There was a tiny little mini fridge. Which was ridiculous. The service staff were very very nice though. I brought a cake since it's my birthday and it would not fit in the fridge. I had to ask the front desk to stick it in the back which is embarrassing. The had an ice bucket like the ones you'd find in a motel. Yes motel. Not hotel. Motel. The ice machine was way down the hall. It was honestly a walk. Only thing I'm thinking is thank God I'm not physically disabled because this walk would be torturous. There were several concerns with a bedroom suite room. The outlets were not consistent. Some charged very well. Others charged at a snails pace or not at all. Floor boards were lifting and some were creaky. There were weird hard raised spots along the floor boards. Marks on the floors and walls from furniture being scraped. A lamp didn't work. The shower head was not properly screwed on so water was spraying everywhere until I tightened the head properly. There is black film covering the handles on the shower. Multiple spots were peeled exposing the metal underneath. The television was working but not that well. The audio was not matching with how the shows were playing. The audio was delayed and it was not enjoyable. The pool was not very impressive. They have this wall thing. I'm like get rid of it. It's blocking the view. You can put a railing so no one falls over it. The gym was not bad. It was larger than the bedroom and had very good equipment. I'd say don't stay here if you're trying to explore and have a good time. This is really only if you need a place to crash. I did enjoy seeing all the flight crew members. I think the airlines partner with this hotel so you'll see a lot of pilots and flight attendants. But yeah if you're staying in Arizona on vacation or you live in Arizona and did a staycation like me I'd pass on this hotel. The view spectacular but that was all. read more

Listen, this is the place to book if you want to stay at a nice hotel in downtown Phoenix! Don't look further, you won't be disappointed. Spent a night here and let me tell you the rooms are great! Incredibly comfortable bedding, great control of the environment and air conditioner, wonderful amenities room, clean as can be! Also, the lobby is wonderful and fabulous! Another thing that's very important is it is in the downtown so you can step outside the hotel and go to dinner. There is a fantastic restaurant that is part of this hotel. Let me tell you a little secret, eat there! We try going into the city and the other restaurants in a nearby area aren't even close to this one, and this particular restaurant is not overpriced. Hotel is clean, seems to be kept up very well, and the room is spacious. There is the usually amenities in the bathroom like soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion all from pump bottles rather than small ones. That's always nice so you don't run out on a trip. Bed is clean, and comfortable. Only took off a star since the hallways are very blend and for the $500/night location and an upscale hotel, I'd expect a bit more decor effort put in. They didn't clean or change despite me letting them know. * one of my favorite garments and robe went missing from the room- I think it was an accident (hung up near the hotel robe provided- which was also taken). They said they dry clean sheets with a third party and they couldn't find it- and then claims called me saying I'm SOL because in the state of Arizona they don't offer claims--then why even start the process? I've NEVER had this happen at a hotel- and it's concerning that things just go missing. Not a big deal since it was just a piece of clothing ;even though it was my favorite and I wore it everywhere) but just the whole interaction and experience was frustrating. Nice hotel! Stayed here for just one night while in town for a conference and had a pleasant experience. I also stayed at the Hyatt just a block or two away for two days prior to my stay but had to change hotels due to capacity limits. Of the two hotels, I enjoyed this hotel more. The rooms, lobby, and amenities just felt more upscale and better maintained. The lobby area has a nice bar and cafe area, meeting tables and high ceilings. The vibe is modern and sophisticated. They have a nice attached restaurant, Carcara, which is described as local Sonoran-inspired fare, with a really nice outdoor seating area. They also have private, sound-proof work rooms which is a nice touch for traveling professionals. Comparing the two hotels, Sheraton also has a much larger and nicer gym with an extensive range of cardio machines, spin bikes, free weights, weight machines and also a yoga and stretching area. Gym towels and water is readily available. The gym was also spacious and clean. No waiting for one of the three treadmills here. They have a a nice rooftop pool on the fourth floor with an adjacent pool bar. While the pool is a little narrow, it is fairly long and didn't look overly crowded when I stopped by. While I didn't get in, there were several people lounging pool side and at the bar trying to escape the Phoenix summer heat. The room itself was also modern and had all the amenities. A small fridge, safe, two bath robes, ironing board, coffee maker, shampoo and conditioner, and lots of plugs. Everything was clean and well maintained. My only issue was that the WiFi didn't appear to be free. I am a Bonvoy member (supposed to have free WiFi) however it looked like I was going to be charged to connect. Overall, I really enjoyed the Sheraton! While it might be an extra block or two from the convention center, it's worth it as opposed to booking with the *unnamed* conference sponsor hotel across the street. read more

I was in town for a recent conference and this was the hq so I decided to splurge and stay here. It is very close to the conference center so if you wanted to walk back and rest during the day it would be super easy. I was disappointed as I booked through the conference portal that wifi was not included at this price. Luckily I had great cell reception. There was plenty of restaurants and bars while staying here. Staff was friendly. The room were clean and very spacious. Bathroom with plenty of hot water, average water pressure. The only other thing that would be better is the lack of other stores or restaurants in this area. My review is just based on their coffee & bar area, ballrooms (where I was all day long) and the overall hotel common areas. I spent all day on a Sunday for a dance convention. This hotel is so pretty inside and spacious. I didn't realize they had so many large ballrooms, very impressive, with plenty of seating in common areas throughout the hotel with power and charging plugs. As far as service, it was pleasant when I ordered off the coffee shop in the lobby area, since arriving so early, ordered egg sandwiches (which were the only thing we didn't like at all, couldn't eat, it was so greasy). Spent two weeks at the Sheraton for a work conference and it was a very comfortable experience. We took over most of the hotel, so staff was catering to us. That being said I did enjoy the stay overall. The rooms were spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. Housekeeping was efficient and my room was very clean. The most impressive part of the hotel is the staff. We ran the bartenders at the lounge ragged with the sheer number of people that we had there that week. They never missed a beat and they were always friendly and accommodating. Had an emergency with an employee in the hotel. Staff could not have been more helpful with getting him the medical attention he needed. The catering staff was efficient and the food was decent. If I had one negative thing to say about the hotel, it was cost. My personal opinion is that the food did not match what we paid for it. Hotel is in a great location downtown in an area that is very walkable and has a lot to see. If I was in Phoenix again, I would absolutely stay here again. read more

I was here for the anime convention over the weekend. The hotel is beautiful! And they did well to keep the elevators at 75% functioning. Which isn't too bad (3 of 4 working). The rooms were nice! But this place had some safety and unlawful concerns. My last night here, we went to have some drinks at the bar, and boy were the prices outrageous. An old fashioned for $18.55!? That's wild. On top of that, the bar tender didn't card a single person! I know for a fact certain individuals were under the age of 21, and they just served them drinks. I guess it was more important to get their profit instead of carding people.. and that's a HUGE concern to me!! I even seen hotel staff just staring at the bar area as if they were concerned. The most impressive thing about this hotel is the gym. I don't think I've ever seen such a large hotel gym. And I have stayed at a lot of hotels. This property has 1,000 rooms. Mine was pretty spacious, clean and modern and came equipped with a safe, big screen TV (probably 55 inches) and no fridge (standard practice in most hotels). Check-in was smooth. The lobby bar is very nice with outrageous pricing to match. Carcara restaurant at the end of the hotel has a delicious menu. There is a resort fee here, which seems like a giant scam considering there is nothing that should qualify this property as a resort, but I got out of paying it with a group rate thanks to my employer. Great location in downtown and a 15 minute ride to/from the airport without traffic. The pool and pooldeck bar would have made for a nice hangout spot, if it weren't 120 degrees outside at the time of my visit. read more

Nice location near ASU. Check in was smooth. Valet staff very friendly. Overall it was a nice stay, but we had some issues with the room: 1. internet kept going down. We had to make a few calls to the front desk. 2. Thermostat in the room was iffy. Didn't always work. Thankfully the temp was comfortable but there were times we wanted to change it and it didn't. 3. refrigerator in the room didn't work well. It was either "off" or way to cold. Some things froze, others didn't and it didn't matter where you set the temp. The Sheraton Club was a nice place to grab a snack or work for a bit. The bar area is huge! Now this is one of my favorite places to stop in the morning and grab a cup of coffee. They have an awesome lobby area to work within. The hotel is beautiful in nature and the location is centered in the middle of all the transpires in downtown Phoenix. I love their outdoor patio adjacent the restaurant. Food is fantastic but you might have to give up Starbucks for a day or so. It is romantic in nature, so you might get lucky if you play your cards right. LOL. We enjoy, that's my wife and I, taking in a nice cocktail, mimosas preferably, and just soaking up the atmosphere. Downtown venues are really hopping now as opposed to 10 years ago. The city showcases an awesome vibe, and you're only walking distance from Roosevelt Street which showcases many fun venues. Deeply disappointing stay marked by serious cleanliness, safety, and service failures I don't take public reviews lightly. But after a month of trying to resolve this directly, with no meaningful follow-up and only a fraction of the points I was promised, I feel obligated to share my experience. From the moment I checked in at the Sheraton in downtown Phoenix, I encountered issue after issue that raised serious concerns about cleanliness, safety, and basic hospitality standards. The bedding had visible brown discoloration near where my face would rest, and the underside of the comforter was filthy. Inside one of the two clothing drawers, I found several clumps of hair that had clearly been overlooked during cleaning and were hard to miss. The bathroom sink was clogged. Engineering came to fix it, but the technician wore dirty gloves and touched nearly every surface in the room, including the faucet, toilet handle, counter, light switch, both sides of the bathroom door handle, and the main room door. He also left water pooled under my personal items on the bathroom counter and dripped it across the bathroom floor and into the entrance hall. I used a clean towel to wipe it up and discovered a gummy residue sitting beneath it on the towel bar. The bathroom floor was so dirty that the towel I used to clean it came up gray. The in-room hair dryer began smoking and gave off a burning smell while in use, which felt like a legitimate safety hazard. The TV wasn't working when I arrived and had to be reset. Every room service order I placed was wrong and poorly prepared. I spoke with multiple managers during my stay. Each acknowledged the problems and responded with empathy. I was told points would be added to my account as a gesture of goodwill. A month later, I have received no response and only a partial credit, despite two follow-up calls where staff confirmed they would pass along my message. I have spent far too much time and energy trying to give this hotel a fair chance to make things right. The lack of follow-through is what ultimately pushed me to write this review. If you value cleanliness, safety, and basic accountability, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. read more

Wow, what a surprisingly excellent experience my wife and I had at this Sheraton. We have stayed in multiple Sheraton properties over the years and this is a huge upgrade. The previous Sheraton properties were completely good places to stay, but it sounds like they are changing the Sheraton hotels, and this property is one of the first to see the changes. We has asked for an early arrival, and everything was ready to go as soon as we arrived. I walked into the beautiful lobby and was greeted with a smile by multiple people at the front desk. Within minutes I had keys to the room and was heading to park the car. We arrived to a very clean and nice room. Everything was in its place and ready for us to relax for the night. We went out to dinner and returned later to get some rest for our trip home the next day. The bed was comfortable, the TV worked great, the bathroom well appointed, and overall a great room. There was an issue with the parking garage when we arrived, so we asked the front desk before leaving how to leave the garage. They knew exactly how we needed to leave the garage, and all worked perfectly. The welcoming nature of everything from the lobby to the front desk to the bar and room was excellent. If this is how Sheraton is rebranding and changing, I'm all for it! read more

We weren't able to check in early because they didn't have rooms cleaned but we had a sleeping infant with us so they gave us access to the lounge where it was a little more private and quiet for our baby. The room was clean and nice. They had the pack and play ready in the room when we arrived but we realize the king rooms didn't have a bath tub, when we asked if we could switch to a room with a tub they quickly got us into another room (it was a double bed room but that was okay with us as those were the only ones with a tub). I loved this hotel except for one thing... the scented soaps. They smelled like every guy I dated in high school who wore too much cologne. The hotel clearly caters to men. I did try asking at the desk for something unscented, but they only have the men's cologne scented stuff. Being fragrance sensitive, that wasn't great for me. Other than that, I had only positive experiences here. The beds are extremely comfortable. Bedding was perfect in terms of weight/warmth. Like perfect to a level that I wanted to stuff the comforter in my bag to take home! Bathroom was spacious and nice. Really it was a very nice room. Service: also excellent. NO FREE WIFI OR PARKING! I absolutely loved the hotel room itself, it was clean with a comfortable bed. It had lots of outlets to charge phones, and they were on each side of the bed too. There was a mini fridge. Although for how expensive and nice this hotel is, they charge for both parking and wifi!!! My boyfriend said that last time he stayed here a few years ago parking was free, but now on the website they do list the prices of parking. I wasn't getting good signal on my phone while in the room so I tried to hop on the wifi, and it was $15 a day so I just didn't use my phone much in the room. This isn't a cheap hotel, over $400 for a 2 night stay. I don't think charging extra for wifi or parking is a good look. I will probably come back because I love the location in terms of being near the Phoenix Convention Center, but keep in mind these extra fees. read more

Odd thing, I snaged some sugar packets from the lobby coffee shop and left them with the coffee stuff in the bathroom only to later find out that the staff took the extra ones i brought up and only left 2... like, what? Why? It's such an odd thing to do, considering the cup to Offee/tea ratio was off and there was more lids than cups. All in all i was here for work and I wouldn't stay here again if I could help it. read more

What an absolute NIGHTMARE! Drove here for a conference, everyone in Phoenix owns a truck, but 3/4 of the parking garage soaces are marked for compact cars only and the other spots are so jammed in there it's impossible to park a truck if their lot is full. Was given a parking vouvher from the conference stating the parking was $8 for attendees. (this is a great price for being downtown). Once we were leaving, it took 24 minutes to get out of the parking garage, because of the absolutely terrible layout and jam packed spaces. When we got to the gate after 24 minutes, an employee refused to take the voucher and charged $32 to park. Again after we waited for 24 minutes to get out of the garage. Absolutely will NEVER stay here after this nonsense and I will be parking across the street in their competitors lot with a much better layout for the next two days of this conference. Terrible customer service, ripped us off and an absolute nightmare to get out of the parking lot. read more

The hotel looks great walking into it and the staff are all so nice. I stayed for two nights and met no one who wasn't nice. I did room service, visited the bar, and the service food and drinks were great. There is a daily urban fee, make sure you use its perks! I am Silver Elite with Marriott so I am not sure if the free WiFi was due to that or if it's a part of the urban fee. There are so many little booths for taking calls or meetings in the lobby as well as meeting spaces if needed. The Restaurant gives cotton candy for sit down guests. Which I thought was cute. Marriott standards of great beds, pillows, and amenities are for sure met at this location. The only things that keeps me from leaving 5 starts was that my showere almost flooded every time I used it. It releases water really slow. There was so much hit caught in the drainage area and hair kept coming out while I showered. I let housekeeping know the first time I showered but no one fixed it before I checked out. Absolutely loved our stay at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown. The location is great, convention center is a 5 minute walk and there are plenty of nice restaurants nearby. The hotel is big, clean and beautiful. Currently beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations. The lounge/lobby area is spacious with a nice bar area in the middle and lots of sofas and tables for different size groups to hang out and get some work done or just relax after a day at the conference. There are also small conference rooms that have doors to be closed for privacy. Great place to run a meeting with your team. I can say this location is perfectly and beautifully planned for people on business trips/conference trips. The bar is nice with a lot of yummy cocktail options , also coffee and tea, delicious brownies, cookies and cupcakes . The best morning and evening snacks. The restaurant Carcara was amazing. Will write a separate review for that. Customer Service was great, friendly and attentive staff except the young guy working at the gift shop. I was in town for a conference and while i didn't stay here, i loved this hotel for a conference space! So many places to meet with people offsite/away from the main conference areas. In fact they had phone booths which were very useful when traveling for business & you need to sneak away for a quick call. My biggest complaint is about the lack of EV charging stations. I stayed here on a Friday night (June 6th) after rushing from work on the last day of the school year (I'm a special education teacher). I flew in from Long Beach which is close to where I live. The flight was delayed, but my room was ready with the mobile check-in service. There was no line when I arrived at the hotel. The mobile check-in upgraded my room to a Sheraton Club room located on the 27th floor. The view from the room was beautiful at night. This particular night was HOT! The last time I was in Phoenix was March. I was again pleased with the room. The bed was very comfortable sleeping in again too. It's a shame that I had to leave early on the next day around 12:00 noon. I got late check out too. Marriott Bonvoy is the best, especially if you use their credit card. You earn some serious points. The location and common areas are decent, but this is such a horridly run hotel. It took three phone calls and two hours to get extra hangers (with the guest services saying there was nothing they could do and no timeframe they could give, housekeeping was a different department, they could just pass on my request). The second day of my stay, after being out from 8:30am to 3:30pm, I come back to a room that still hadn't been made (paraphrasing guest services -- "we're a conference hotel with over 1,000 rooms, how dare you expect your room to be made before 5pm, and no, we can't guarantee that something similar won't happen tomorrow"). Their lounge was small, with sub-par quality food and limited choices. Their restaurant was overpriced and disappointing. Breakfast was fine -- the bread on the avacado dish was good, the french toast standard -- but did not like anything we had for dinner. Also, was low-key allergic to whatever cleaning products they were using, which hasn't happened at any other hotel I've stayed at. read more

I met my Fiancé and her friend here for our first night stay on our quick weekend trip to Sedona. The location is very convenient with lots to walk too. The staff was friendly and courteous, the rooms and building were clean and tidy. This location does not have the lounge open on the weekends however, which was a let down. This location is more of a business travel and convention location as opposed to tourists which is why they say they don't have the ambassadors lounge open on weekends. We did receive a meal credit to have breakfast downstairs and it was tasty. The hotel being catered more for business is why I rank it at four stars. read more

LOVE THIS HOTEL! The 2 stars is for the service. Got told to check in after 1p for an early check in - room wasn't ready and they gave me a $100 f&b credit and free parking for the inconvenience. Fine. Ordered items from housekeeping and it said delivered, in which it never was. After checking out, my card was charged for the $155 tab at the restaurant in which I had a credit for. I called the girl that I talked to was nice, transferred to the manager and he was an absolute jerk. I want to start with the fact that I stayed here for a conference and work paid for it--hotel stays always seem to be better when you don't have to pay for it, right? Anyway, I arrived at 9 am and they had a room available for super early check-in; off to a great start (thanks and special shout-out to Jarrod who was so nice at the front desk--he gave us a great rec for breakfast at Matt's Big Breakfast, too, which was SO good). I had a 6th flor room with a king and I loved it; my view was of the 4th floor pool which was fun. It was right next to the elevator and I really didn't hear the traffic/activity of them. The room was so clean and each day the cleaning service came in to tidy up the space and restock towels, etc--they're like secret fairies as I never saw them come and go! Blackout curtains were great, shower and bathroom was SO clean, pillows comfy. The bartender at the pool bar was quick and kind, I didn't go to the bar/coffee shop or restaurant out of the the hotel's main lobby but they existed. The man who organized luggage drop-off was nice and also quick/efficient. I have zero concerns, found the space to be clean, and would absolutely stay here again if back in Phoenix! read more
