Stepping into the office, I felt as if I've been coming here for years. The staff is warm and friendly. Dr. Huston took time to explain a lot of issues I've been having. I never felt rushed. He truly cares about his patients and explained why I didn't need to get tissue grafting even though I was told by another periodontist in the area that I needed it. I'm so grateful that I found OC Advanced Periondics! You'll be glad you did too!

I had an implant placed about 4 years ago. I had my hesitations about titanium and was more curious about zirconia but Dr. Huston said a bunch of bad stuff about Zirconia. So, I trusted him and opted for the titanium, big mistake. Now, I am having issues with my implant and major bone loss in an area that had no bone issues. I am in my 40's and healthy. I have all kinds of numbness and gum recession due to the bone loss. I made an appointment to see Dr. Huston and he said it was because of my clenching and thought I needed a $250 mouth guard. I do not need that plus I have a retainer I wear and that just would not work anyway. He said he would look into things to see if he could come up with what was happening and he never got back to me. He also does not place the crown itself and I think that is problematic. If you need an implant I would suggest going with a practitioner who listens to your concerns about metal and also does the entire job. This doctor seems to be spread too thin as well. I am really sad to post this because Dr. Huston used to be a really nice guy but now it feels like you're a number and the personal care is out the window. I will be seeing another Doctor for my implant and gum recession procedures and that is his loss. I guess my dollars aren't worth it to him. On another note, the office is kinda old and dated looking but that's just me.

After many consultations with other cosmetic dentists in the area, I chose Dr. Scott Rice for my…read moregum contour procedure. I've been going back and forth between veneers, gum contouring or both and Dr. Scott Rice was able to explain pros and cons to both options without being pushy. My teeth and mouth were perfectly fine and healthy. I've had braces twice in my life, so they were already straight and aligned as well. Many of the other dentists I had gone to were trying to sell me on a full set of veneers, but I wanted to keep my natural smile/teeth but just achieve a more improved look with less gum when I smiled and an even gum line. That's exactly what I got and I'm so happy I found him because I decided to switch over to them as my regular dentist now. Their service, professionalism and expertise is so worth it! The fresh baked cookies don't hurt either Lol! It smells amazing in there everytime! The thing is there are many well trained, knowledgeable doctors out there who can give you what you want, but the ethics and moral character are hard to find. He was more focused on what I wanted, what made me happy than achieving the perfect smile (unless that's what I wanted of course). Your smile is an investment and at the end of the day you're the one paying. You want to be sure it's the look you want and are happy with it and also find a dentist who can provide their expertise, knowledge and opinion without feeling like their trying to sell you on the most expensive procedures. He kept my well-being at the forefront and I can't ask for anything more. He made me feel safe and heard and that's what won me over. Dr. Scott Rice actually cares and listened. I trust him with my care. He's a rare gem! During the procedure, I was involved every step of the way. Asking for my opinion, telling me what they were doing, asking if I was okay. Answered all of my questions. Healing was pretty fast, no complications. I had gum contour and composite veneers done. If it's not already obvious, I highly recommend coming to Rice dentistry for all your dental needs. I'm beyond happy with them and will continue to come back and recommend them to anyone asking. The staff are amazing as well, the whole team are very thorough and provide A+ customer service and treatment.

I was very…read moreanxious about the procedure as I worked with a different surgeon 2 years ago and had a horrible experience. She was curious to know what contributed to my negative experience and I explained that I had terrible pain for 2 months after my first procedure due to the previous doctor taking the graft tissue from the roof of my mouth. I was surprised to hear that she offered an option to take the tissue from the back of my mouth which would be less painful and result in a faster healing time. This made the healing process so much easier and I felt as though I had more control over my daily activities (eating, drinking, talking) as a result. The procedure itself was quick and painless. She made sure to explain what she was doing in order to keep me calm and gave all the after care instructions to my partner including her phone number for any concerns. I reached out to her 6 or 7 times with pictures of my graft to make sure that it was healing properly and asked detailed questions about what I could eat or drink. Being that I had such a negative experience with a different doctor, including his bedside manner, I expected there to be annoyance about my inquiries but instead I was met with speedy, knowledgable and empathetic responses. She went out of her way to explain the healing process step by step and gave me reassurance throughout the next 3 weeks. I am so thankful for the support she's provided and would definitely recommend working with her for any of your needs!

Good Morning All! Normally I don't write bad reviews if I don't need to but this needs to be…read morebrought to attention. I used to go to chu and yang when they were in Orange and so did my family for many many years. I stopped going because they always found something in my mouth be it a cavity or a root canal that needed to be done. However, after one bad experience which I won't go into detail I decided to ignore my oral health due to fear of the dentist and ridicule. Fast forward ten years later I decided to see a new dentist... after my initial intake I was told I had only one cavity v.s the last time I saw chu and yang who stated I had several if not more on every tooth in my mouth. Someone please tell me how a well established dental office with pleasant and amazing staff is telling me I needed a root canal done and then some fillings, yet the new dentist I go to tells me I have one tiny cavity which would be dealt with after my deep cleaning? And I did not need any root canals as well? Something isn't right here and this has sat with me for many many days. I don't need a root canal. I don't have several if not more cavities per my previous chart... what is going on? Yes, the staff is amazing and well accommodating at least 10 years ago but...how can I have so many cavities? Yet my new dentist says I have one small tiny one? Was I being charged and put through unwanted procedures and mental strain? Sure seems like it. I want to give the benefit of the doubt but I also think people should have two opinions when seeing a dentist cause clearly the amount of work I needed to have done was very minimal v.s what was stated to me 10 years prior. And I'm saving so much more money v.s the hundreds if not thousands I had charged at Chu and Yang. In closing. Yes, Dr chu and yang are a great practice, but I can't help but think who else was told they needed work done when they truly didn't need it? I truly hope things have changed at the practice but note I will not be coming back. Thank you.
