Whitby Castle - All your fairytale wedding dreams become a reality here at Whitby!

Whitby Castle

We had our South Asian wedding at Whitby Castle on July 4…read more From the beginning, Niki made us feel welcome and confident in our decision. She was responsive, understanding, and flexible throughout the booking process that we truly appreciated. As we got closer to the wedding, Ralph became our main point of contact and he was our Maitre'D. He was incredibly communicative, practical, and reassuring. He helped us work through the last-minute changes and was always focused on finding a solution. We originally chose Whitby Castle because having an outdoor ceremony on the grounds was part of our dream. Unfortunately, due to an intense heatwave, we moved the ceremony indoors at the last minute. I was nervous that it would not have the same feeling, but the space felt elegant, intimate, and beautiful, and our photographs still captured everything we loved. There were a few hiccups throughout the day as well, but the venue including Ralph and Rosa (bridal attendant) remained accommodating and worked well with every one of our vendors to keep things moving. They took care of us that day in moments where no one else was paying attention, and we are eternally thankful to them for that. Whitby Castle is a stunning venue, but also one with a team that genuinely tries to support its couples. We are very grateful to Niki, Ralph, Rosa, and the entire Whitby Castle team for helping bring our wedding together.

The Coveleigh Club did an excellent job executing our wedding day. We were referred to Coveleigh as…read morea venue option through our wedding planner. We are grateful for the recommendation because the club boasted all the features we wanted in our wedding: proximity to water, an older charm, and within our budget. Despite not being members of the club but we were never made to feel that way, ever. We made frequent short notice visits to the venue to show family and friends and we were always warmly received. Ted Hennes greeted us each time and would ensure that we were welcome at any point in the process. From the day we signed our contract to the day of our wedding, Ted was by our side making sure all of our desires were met. He had my favorite beer brought in from out of state and throughout our planning would do similar small gestures that indicated to us he was also invested in the event being successful, fun, and memorable. The premises are kept immaculately and our guests absolutely loved the photo opportunities in the mansion, near the pier, and in the garden area. We were married outside and the view of the water was such a lovely backdrop to our ceremony. The estate speaks for itself and we needed to do very little with our floral company to enrich the natural beauty of the structure. We were permitted to decorate the rooms as if they were our own; this meant that during cocktail hour guests could meander the rooms and relax, look at old family photos, and sit comfortably in the home. We are still receiving compliments on the food from our wedding - everything was delicious. From the cocktail hour options to the entrees - our only regret is not having the time to indulge more in cocktail hour food. The wait staff paid so much attention to detail; it was almost as if each table had its own waiter. You never went hungry (or thirsty). The bar service was impressive as most of our guests love partying and we were initially concerned about the club's ability to accommodate a rowdier crowd; however, they did so seamlessly! Thank you!

Went here on Sunday April 14th 2024 to attend a baby shower with my mom and family. Beautiful venue…read moreto have one with views of the long island sound, and the relaxing water. Food was also very good, as they had a brunch like food for the shower- foods like bagels, fruit, french toast, make your own omelet, salad, potatoes, and bacon which was pretty good. The only thing i suggest, Label the food so that people know what it is, i took dressing for my salad that i can guess was balasmic but it tasted like Italian. Also another feedback, and i noticed they did this more throughout the event but, train your staff to ask before they take any plates away on the tables, one may think that they are done, but they could not be. Anyways, dessert was also good, as there was a strawberry cake, munchins, cake pops, and brownies, which was all very good. It was also easy to find the restroom and it was very clean. I can't say much about the beach club or activities, but it looked like they had a nice large pool. The grounds are also beautiful.

I've…read morebeen eating at Sam's of Gedney Way for years and had tried their catering at a Taste of WhitePlains event a while back. The passed hors d'oeuvres we had were over the top. A combination of land and sea--Filet Mignon with Arugula and Horseradish Goat Cheese (amazing!), Outer Banks Crab Cakes with mustard caper sauce, and Crisp Coconut Shrimp with chili lime sauce (mouth watering as I recall them). As a vegetarian option, the Brie & Roasted Shallot Tart with caramelized fig chutney went so well with the red wine I was drinking. Other good gnoshing with their Classic Antipasto platter and a couple of platters of Shrimp Cocktail. For the main course, we had Tuscan Chicken with artichokes, and sage in a lemon butter sauce, along with a Penne Pasta with Prosciutto, grana and peas in a light tomato cream sauce, and huge platter of grilled vegetables. They cut up the chicken small enough so that you didn't need a knife, making it easier to eat in a cocktail setting. The entrees hit the spot and weren't too heavy after all the appetizers. Since I had already hired someone for the night to work the party, I opted for them to drop-off the food. They wheel it in in these giant containers that keeps everything the right temperature until you need it. They gave us instructions on how to heat and serve everything. Nothing was dry or soggy. And they set us up with all the serving pans and platters. All in all, they were helpful in providing guidance on which food to order. Calling Caperberry for the next party.
