The movers were all friendly and introduced themselves to us, which helped us feel safe, especially with our kids around. They worked quickly, padded everything well, and worked to get our things into our new home where we wanted them, despite some challenging home angles to work around. Moving is a stressful event, but Lloyd's Transfer & Storage helped ease some of the burden. We'd like to thank Richard W., Aaron G., Trent R., Jeremy, Hunter F., and Tia A. for all their hard work. However, movers were unfriendly and didn't pay attention to detail when packing. When moving from my initial apartment the movers left multiple items in the inventory and I had to track them down to have them put them in the truck. Also, the movers increased the price drastically from the quote without accounting for the actual increase in square footage of items being around the same although a couple of inventory items differed.They also tacked on multiple long haul fees without even accurately measuring the distance between the door and the truck. I would've chosen another company that was much more upfront with their fees had I known better. Lastly, art was damaged in the move. Also they didn't put together all of my televisions without me asking them on the way out. Low quality service for a very high price. Would've preferred movers that didn't try to scam customers on price and moved and packed items with care. I guess most of most of my stuff made it ok but definitely search around and don't choose them from Angie's list! There are much better movers in the DMV -- I was in a time crunch.

Do not trust this company. I got my estimate from them, paid the deposit and then didn't hear…read moreanything back from them until I emailed several times asking about dates. A date was set and an estimated time was given to me, noon to four pm. Then, it was changed to one to five pm. At four thirty, I was informed that they were an hour away "at least". I called and requested it to be rescheduled for the next day, because the storage unit I was going to be moving it to would be closed by the time it would take to load everything and then drive to the new location. Five was already cutting it close. We rescheduled for the next day, and I was given an initial quote of one to three pm. Then, at 8:45, I was informed that they would be there between 7:30 and 8:30 AM. I arrived that morning and waited. I finally heard from them at 8:46 am that they would be there, they were 35 minutes away. Then, later I was told that no, there was another mistake, it would be "before noon". Noon came, and after 15 minutes I texted asking when they would be arriving. An hour later, I hear back, 2:45 is the new expected arrival time. At this point, I felt this was no longer a company I could trust. At this point, I had been the only one actively communicating, I had been given repeated promises during calls that they were "an hour away", I had taken two days off of work and driven a total of eight hours over two days, and at this point I no longer felt safe with them handling my possessions and asked for a refund and for my deposit to be returned. They agreed on the phone, but then called back and instead offered a discount. I said I wanted a refund and the deposit returned. They agreed a second time. They called a third time, offering a discount again, rather than the agreed upon refund and return of the deposit. This time, I activated call recording, which announced the call was now being recorded, and I have a recording of them promising to refund the payment and deposit. It is now almost a week later and they have not responded to calls or emails, and no refund has happened.

We moved from a large house that was packed full of furniture and household items, including a shed…read morefull of stuff on July 5th, 2024 when the temperature was in the high 90's. Chris and his crew (4 people altogether) showed up when they told us they would be there, between 8-9am, showing up at 8:15. Right away, they were wrapping furniture and delicate items and being very careful with everything. They took apart items that could be taken apart, and moved a bunch of really heavy items without complaint. The last time we moved, another company tried to talk us into getting rid of our treadmill and other heavy items, but Chris and the crew just rolled right along with it. The move went great, we tried to keep the guys hydrated and they kept working all day until after 5 pm and still, not so much as a single complaint from one of them. Overall, all our furniture arrived undamaged and put in the right place and guys even had to move some furniture from one room to another (my mistake, miscommunication between me and my wife, who was at our old house) and still they just kept working. Chris is a real pro, a hard worker, very personable, great communication skills and he kept the move on track. When we were accepting bids I was almost passed on theirs because they were cheaper than all the other companies, but we took the chance and we're glad we did because Nation Capital did an outstanding job and we would use them in a heartbeat.

I HIGHLY recommend booking with them!…read more I just used them for my move from DC to IL and honestly ended up going with them because even though they were initially more expensive than some other offers I received, they had stellar reviews and for an out-of-state move I wanted to make sure it was going with a good company. Justin was great in working with me to schedule things and get everything ready -- I ended up having to change my date because of winter weather back in IL and it wasn't an issue at all. The crew that came to pick up my stuff in DC was incredibly kind and fast -- Miguel was the head guy for their team and was very cordial. They came, wrapped things up, and packed it into the truck in just about 2 hours. Due to COVID-19 and them being super busy, my stuff was delayed in being delivered to IL but because of that I was discounted $200 which I was more than happy to comply with. Because it was delayed, I was unable to accept the move and they were okay with having my mom be there to accept it and gave me a secure link to pay for it online which was awesome. The only thing I'd note was that I missed the part that I had to pay half of the move in-person when my stuff was picked up via cash/money order so I ended up paying with card and that was an added 5% to the total of the half. It was probably in the paperwork but I just missed it -- so just something to note and keep in mind. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this company and would personally use them again.
