Nice view of creek, we've stayed here before and it is close to lots of restaurants and places to drink. Reds and Saltwater Cowboys are directly across . I do think the price per night is a little steep, but oh well it is what it is and we enjoy it here. You can acess the boardwalk from hotel

Shem Creek is a small hotel/inn located in Mount Pleasant. It's charming. I would say that's the perfect word to describe it. Booked the hotel with Expedia and checked I. Late around 10. There was someone at the desk who took my information quickly. The lobby is beautiful. The hotel is actually located on the second floor of the building which answered all my flooding questions. You see the building is next to a river/creek. There was plenty of parking outside. We stayed facing the water which was awesome. My little one loved looking at the water and really enjoyed the balcony. The room was clean and the ac worked great. A few bars/ restaurants walking distance in the area. So that's a plus for whoever doesn't want to drive to eat or drink. All in all good stay. Will consider it again if I'm in the area.

Walking distance to many bars and restaurants. Rooms are comfortable, but not fancy. Emily and Ed were friendly, helpful, and professional.

Stayed her a few weeks ago when my parents were in town and we really enjoyed it! They upgraded us to a creekside room, definitely worth doing if you're going to stay here. The rooms are pretty spacious and the patios overlooking the creek are pretty big too!! Really conveniently located to restaurants in the area and not to far from the beach or downtown. Also has a pool that overlooks the creek which is really nice! Recommend staying her if you are looking for staying somewhere for a view. Definitely not a 5 star hotel, but just has a very relaxed beachy feel!

Another visit, another happy stay. Can't beat the location. We take our bikes, so we can get to a lot of places as well as ride through quiet streets. Pool was clean and a nice temp. Gabe took my reservation and told us of the specials, which saved us quite a bit! He was great and always polite. The morning desk clerk I'm sure is fine, but she was asleep when we came in for the free breakfast. Room was clean, and the view was amazing. Creek side allowed us to watch the dolphins come in with the shrimp boats looking for a free meal.

Stayed here for a wedding weekend and didn't disappoint! It's walking distance to a lot of fun bars and the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating

Great inn with an even better view. The staff is extremely friendly and they even provide a drink at check in which is awesome. The rooms are always clean, the showers are nice, the pillows are comfortable, and they have DirecTV which is great! My only advice would be the breakfast could use some work. Just a little more selection would be nice but I understand cost is a factor for a hotel. For example they have croissants but nothing to put on them so they aren't very usable. The eggs however are very good.

From the minute we pulled up I KNEW we had picked the right hotel for our stay! We had heard about Shem Creek in some books we'd read and Shem Creek Inn was one of the first hotel that showed up during our search. We decided that we wanted to stay on the water and this fit the bill! As soon as you walk into the lobby you have views of the pool and the creek beyond. There were bars and restaurants within walking distance and the Shem Creek Park was right next door. We were in heaven! The room was a good size and well appointed. It wasn't anything super special, but it had great views of the water. We could have jumped in the pool from our balcony! The room was clean, the beds were comfy, and it had a fridge and microwave. And I definitely took advantage of the free wi-fi. The first thing we did after getting our stuff up the the room was change into our suits, fix a drink, and head down to the pool. It was perfect! Again, the pool wasnt anything super special but it was nice and was right on the water. What else could you ask for? Before we went to dinner we were able to check out the surrounding area and the park next door. The staff was super helpful and the gentleman working the desk confirmed that the restaurant we picked for dinner was THE place to go. AND, it was just a mile away! The hotel is older, but everything is clean and kept nice. There was a continental breakfast (which was a pleasant surprise) that was just what we needed before we headed out the next morning. There is parking under the hotel and in an adjacent lot, but since it is right near two restaurant/bars and the park it can be a bit crazy. But as soon as you step inside you forget all about the cars and noise out front. We had no problems with noise from the surrounding businesses, but we did have a little bit of noise being right next to the lobby and front entrance. The location of the room was great, but we could have done without the noise. We loved our stay and will definitely be back the next time we are in town.

Beautiful, crispy, clean and comfy beds!

Newly renovated hotel with prime view of Shem Creek and all the beautiful restaurants it has to offer. Plenty of parking, and they give you a parking pass for your car. The entry way and lobby is clean, modern and definitely a taste of Charleston. The room is also renovated, clean and modern. I honestly have no complaints. It's a cute little hotel, that seriously feels like a 5 star luxury hotel. Perfect for those looking for a staycation or an actual vacation.

I booked this hotel by chance since we did not want to be downtown, and I'on is close enough to Shem Creek. We arrived in the early afternoon and were greeted by Amy. I believe she was Housekeeping but seemed to wear many hats! There was a young front desk agent as well who was very pleasant. They thoroughly explained the hotel, their rules and what to expect. The office closes in the evening, so they make sure to get each guest set up for the night before they close. The whole property was a wow factor. I was in awe every time I turned a corner! The room and bathroom were stunning. The old time Charleston feel was not unnoticed. We loved the white tile bathrooms and showers, complete with cozy towels and robes. It poured for most of our weekend, but we were able to enjoy our complimentary breakfast on the balcony with some sunshine. Breakfast tasted great and was served promptly at our requested time. The room had a Keurig with plentiful K Cup options. We didn't want to check out! I won't stay anywhere else while visiting Charleston.

The location is very convenient for downtown - less than 15 minutes away, in a quiet tree lined area. Looking at the map, you would not get that impression. It is also 15 minutes away from the beach on Isle of Palms. After checking out and coming home we discovered we had left an item of value in the room. The hotel, not only found the item, (the housekeeping staff had turned it into management), but Fedexed it to us, all in a couple of days without a fuss and very efficiently. Requested high floor away from elevators and they did exactly that before I checked in. Nice touch Update. I wish I knew there would be construction happening eight next to the hotel. From 0900 on, all you can hear is a bulldozer and noise. The breakfast was probably the worst I've ever had in any Hilton chain. The eggs were wet, the potatoes were gooey and unseasoned and the sausage was rubbery. All of it went in the trash. It's bad when the best part of breakfast are hard boiled eggs.

The property offers a great island location on Isle of Palms that's only 10 minutes or less from Charleston. It's also only 10 minutes from Sullivan's Island. Access into the lot was easy and I appreciated the offering of four spaces for Diamond members. The exterior was in great shape and offers a resort feel to it. The landscaping was kept up with fresh pine straw. A sign in the corner is dated and cannot be seen from the road. The walk up was debris free, however trash was overflowing in the can outside the door. The lobby is attractive and welcoming. Check-in was simple and staff provided hotel information for my three days. A large hotel cart was appreciated and they had several of them. The double Queen was clean and prepared for my 3 PM arrival. The bath had proper supplies. The towels were in good condition. Climate was good not great, the room (324) still got a bit warm. Unfortunately the room was dated as technology plugins were sparse. Other than that the beds and pillows were comfortable. The bed sheets clean and in good condition. I received no maid service as per policy of a 3 day stay or request. I think many hotels will keep this COVID policy. I have no issue with it. My family used the free breakfast offered twice and it's their weakest area to improve. I applaud three waffle makers, but one was broken. The food was mediocre and muffins were frozen on one day. The most challenging was staff that seemed to do too little. The best parts of their breakfast was the hours 6-10 and the large space with many tables. There is an outdoor pool offered that was heated, clean and open. Chairs and tables are on the deck. My family did not partake, but others did. It's directly off the lobby. Over the few days I had pleasant interactions with the front desk male staff working in the evening. That elevated my review. Hampton Inn Isle of Palms has composite of a 4. My opinion is they deserve a weak 4, Nonetheless it was an above average experience and offered an excellent value. Furthermore Hampton Inn as a brand has not been my go to over the past 5 years, but this property delivered just fine for my family.
