5 Stars for a hotel that feels brand new (everything is clean and new) and exactly what I needed for a couple of nights on a work trip in Charleston. It turns out lodging in Downtown Charleston is expensive! I opted to book this Hyatt in Mount Pleasant based on the price, the reviews, and the proximity (a quick 13 minute drive/rideshare to Kings St). The facilities are all new or updated, so it was a very comfortable stay. I didn't take advantage of their breakfast, but appreciated that they had a little pantry of goods available for purchase at the front desk and also notes in the room to reach out if I forgot anything essential (like toothpaste). Overall, I'd definitely stay here again. It's not unique like a boutique hotel, but it's reliable and made this quick stay more comfortable. read more

I like many things about Hyatt House Mount Pleasant and not impressed with many other things. I like the ample free parking. There's a plethora of parking at all hours. It is also very quiet. The neighborhood is quiet, the rooms are quiet, the street is quiet. The hotel is newer so for the most part everything worked really well. I was a bit confused about the branding. Twice I stayed here and both times the rooms were more Hyatt Place vs Hyatt House. There was no full kitchen, no full size refrigerator, and fairly standard room size. The microwave is on an upper shelf above my head making it super awkward. Why so high? Standard tiny fridge which is great for bottles of water and not much else. The wire shelf in the shower stall was broken so I had to put my hair products on the floor. The hotel is also located in an unusual location - pretty sure it's a residential neighborhood. There's a very small park across the street but it is meh. There's no nearby non-chain restaurants and the hotel offers frozen processed foods and not a huge selection. Speaking of limited selections - their breakfast buffet was very limited - scrambled eggs, apples, toast, yogurt, sausage, and an assortment of cereal was all they had. No bananas, biscuits and gravy, French toast, waffles, hard boiled eggs, bacon, or any of that. I don't expect all that but I'm getting used to what Hyatts typically provide and this one has a fraction. I was a little surprised also by the service. The employees weren't rude, just apathetic. When I stay at the Hyatt House Charleston I'm greeted with a smile, I'm thanked for my loyalty status, and I'm given a bag with a snack, two bottles of water, and a certificate to use at the Placery or their restaurant. The employees here checked me in, said very little, and when I asked about the water they motioned to the case and told me I could grab two a day. I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff. I don't typically feel that way at Hyatts. read more

We stayed here for 3 nights while in town for a wedding and had a great visit. The hotel lobby was beautiful, well decorated, and clean. Parking was convenient and there are tons of restaurants and shops within walking distance. We used digital key cards on our phones, which was super convenient. Our room was clean, comfortable, and functional. We had three adults in our room and it slept us all well. We had 2 queen beds and a pullout, which worked nicely. Housekeeping was great. We enjoyed all the amenities and especially appreciated the complimentary breakfast every morning. This is a great place to stay in the Mount Pleasant/Charleston area! read more

I stayed here last year at almost the same time and while I had a nice experience, this one was soooo much better. I'm guessing there have been changes in management or other key employees and we as guests certainly benefited. Brandon and Sylvia could not have been nicer and engaging. Saw no manager berating them in front of guests like last year. They were both a joy to talk to and I not only felt welcome at the hotel, but to Mount Pleasant in general. Last year, I beat up that breakfast bar and boy have they done a 360 for the better. They had bacon, sausage and real potatoes with onions and peppers and not those square things or patties that are hard as rocks. Last year, no omelets because they " ran out of supplies they had received 2 days earlier". Today they had them, and they were tasty. Rooms were clean as were common areas. Nice housekeeping. Hyatt House should send their breakfast staff to Hyatt Place for training because the breakfast was abominable. Not exaggerating either. So thanks Hyatt House! read more

Hyatt House does it again!! This is at least the 3rd Hyatt House we have stayed at in recent years and it really is the best hotel. Immaculate hotel, extremely clean. Studio room was perfect, everything you need, including two refrigerators. Parking lot is free and plenty big enough. Hotel location is great, located in a very quiet area of Mt. Pleasant which is a very nice town. Hotel is about 20 minutes from Downtown Charleston (disappointing city, filled with entitled 20 somethings, who honestly showed their prejudiced true colors more than once). I digress, Hyatt House Mt. Pleasant was wonderful. Staff is extremely nice. Definitely stay here. read more

This is my second time staying at a Hyatt House location. I enjoyed the proximity of this location to downtown Charleston. Our hotel room was good with the exception of our bathroom sink. The sink was not functioning properly but was fixed immediately. Continental breakfast is included every morning along with wifi and parking. If you are not a pet lover just beware that pets are allowed at this hotel. The hotel did ensure guest that they do a deep cleaning of every room. All in all. Nice hotel for price. read more

As I pulled into the parking of the Hyatt House, there was plenty of parking with parking for people with disabilities. The outside of the hotel was clean. As I entered, there were luggage carts at the front door for use. After approaching the front counter, yes, I was early. Brandon was at the front desk and reminded me that I was early for check-in. He offered me breakfast in the dining area. After checking in, I went to the room. I observed that the room was clean and had a fresh welcoming scent. There was always someone at the front counter. They were Brandon, Dominique, and Jay. They were all so helpful and were always smiling! Breakfast was awesome! I was able to choose from the buffet, or I could order an omelet from the kitchen. The food was tasty! The hotel is minutes away from all of the attractions and downtown. It's definitely the place to stay! Hyatt House, you earned your 5-star review! I will be back! Everything is not bad at all but look what I found in the gym- I m taking about filter in water dispenser. It had to be changed no later then 2016, see picture attached. Otherwise not hotel. Air conditioning blowing right in your face when you in bed. I don't know how people can tolerate that icy cold strong air flow. read more

Do not come here if you are looking for a COVID safe environment. This Hyatt had rave reviews about how they were taking the pandemic seriously. I did not find that to be true. My first room, room 517 in case you get it, had moldy tangerines in the fridge and smelled like old food. As if someone had been there just minutes before heating up something meaty and cheesy. I called the front desk and she was very nice and offered me a new room, great! I get to the new room (527) and sanitized it before touching anything. Of note, this room had a random full size refrigerator in addition to the smaller, personal one. Apparently they are in the process of adding full sized fridge's to all of the rooms. In this room, I came across the following issues: (1) around 10pm that night I found a q-tip in the far left corner of the shower. I didn't bother calling because guess what, my room phone only worked if it was on speakerphone plus I was tired, (2) I also ended up discovering old bread and potato chips in the cabinet above the kitchenette area left over from a former guest, and (3) I also had no remote or tv guide. I reported all of these violations to the front desk, who once again offered to remedy the infractions and escalated up to moving me again to which I declined. I also didn't want the cleaning staff coming in the room because, COVID. To top it off, I observed the two staff members setting up the continental breakfast station wearing their masks under their chins. The food service staff, really?! I shook my head at one of them and he pulled his gaiter up over his nose. SMH. And the final straw which had me considering leaving, I saw the housekeeper going into a room to clean with her mask under her chin. WHY?!?! Eventually, Jordan, the Health, Hygiene & Wellness Coordinator got in touch with me. He (and the front desk staff) was the only reason I'm leaving 2 stars and not 1. Jordan was phenomenal and apologized profusely. He offered to remedy the situation and was willing to actually listen to my concerns. He tried to assure me that they are taking temperatures, etc. for staff but I told him, at this point it's futile. His staff is not taking the pandemic seriously. This was at Thanksgiving, so hopefully they have corrected this gross negligence of pretty basic hygiene and cleaning practices. Jordan assured me this was unheard of, yet I find that hard to believe since I ended up with not 1 but 2 dirty rooms. This place is close to Charleston, you just drive over that huge bridge and you're there. So I enjoyed Mount Pleasant. However, this was not a pleasant stay. I considered just leaving early at one point. Anyway, stay here at your own risk. read more

My husband and I decided to travel to Mount Pleasant, SC to visit family and friends for our birthday weekend ( yes we share the same birthday) since we could not travel out of the country. Due to Covid- 19 there was not a bunch that we could do during our stay so we chose to stay at Hyatt House which is located behind a shopping center which includes a Total Wine and More and a Walmart. This Hotel is about 15 minutes away from everything, there are several amazing restaurants, a outlet, the beach and downtown Charleston is not far either. Parking was easy, you can park in the front on the street if you can find a spot or the other front on the other side of the hotel where you can drive up to check in as well. Many safety precautions were put in place to keep the guest and everyone in the hotel safe during Covid. Mask wearing was enforced inside the hotel in areas where there was close contact with others. The hotel bar was closed till further notice, thankfully the wine store was within walking distance. I was looking forward to the omelets for breakfast but they had only things available that was packaged. I'm a foodie so I was happy with going out to brunch each day to a different restaurant. This hotel is fairly new so it had a contemporary look to it. The lobby was cute with plenty of seating in case you wanted to not stay in your room. There is also a patio with tables and chairs where you can relax and enjoy the peacefulness of being away from the busy city. Our room was clean and cozy, the bed was comfortable. The staff was amicable and accommodating. If you are in the area looking for a nice reasonable priced hotel, look no further. read more

The hotel was new and updated, standard continental breakfast but that was expected (COVID), wonderful hotel staff, who were very accommodating and offered great suggestions to visit. We normally stay at the Hyatt House in Charleston to be close to the action but not having to pay for the daily parking was well worth the extra 10-15 minute drive. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. My family and I stayed in a 1 bedroom suite and found human feces on the sheets in our bed. The hotel switched our room at 9PM after we found this under the comforter. We had to wake our sleeping children and spend 45 minutes moving to a room down the hall. Not one apology was given regarding the issue and cleanliness of the room. Instead of refunding me the money for the night as I requested for the inconvenience, the hotel decide to give me rewards points since I am a Hyatt member despite me asking for a refund. The hotel stands behind their decision, showing they do not value cleanliness and changing bedding. I will never stay at a Hyatt again as they clearly have no cleaning protocols. Day 1 of our vacation was ruined and the remaining trip was spent dealing with rude hotel employees trying to remedy the situation. Even after contacting corporate and then the Better Business Bureau, the hotel is refusing to refund our night and is now calling us liars and saying their staff did not find feces on the sheets. Completely despicable for a billion dollar company. I have never dealt with somewhere that has 0 customer service support. Even after sending a picture that we took of the sheets, they are still accepting 0 responsibility and blaming us as if we would willingly want to ruin our vacation and the two weeks after dealing with this repulsive situation. read more

If you enjoy a modern and clean hotel, the Hyatt House is great! The staff is simply amazing and went the extra mile to make my birthday stay amazing! Special thanks to Tim and Alaina! Although breakfast has been altered, due to the pandemic, there were still many great options at the breakfast bar (there could be more considerate for alternative diets). The room was spacious with plenty of storage and living space, so I was able to enjoy the whole space during my 4 day stay. The bathroom was clean, the shower is spacious and water pressure was amazing! Also, the mirror is perfect for putting on makeup! The kitchen has a stove top, microwave, dishwasher, sink and mini fridge and was perfect to help managing Bariatric diet while away from home for an extended period. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The is no daily cleaning due to pandemic, but I was informed on how to request my room be cleaned, which I did not use. However, when I requested additional towels, while leaving out, the towels were in my room when I returned. I really appreciated that! There were a handful of little things in the room that a handyman can fix that put small dents in how much I enjoyed my suite, nothing big (soap dish was loose so my soap kept sliding onto the floor of the shower, faucet in kitchen was loose, etc) which is why those things stood out because they seemed like easy fixes. read more

Had a wonderful stay here when my daughter was playing softball. The king suite with sofa bed was perfect for us. Lots of space to eat a meal in the kitchen, a nice living area with sofa bed, and the shower was sparkling clean. The room smelled nice which is impressive because that rarely ever happens for me in a hotel and we travel A LOT. Bed was comfortable and Grandma reports that the sofa was also a comfortable place to sleep since she stayed with us one of the nights we were there. Amenities were very nice as well and breakfast was great! Staff was friendly and went out of the way to make us feel welcome, getting extra sheets for us and getting some things from the kitchen later in the evening when we made a meal and needed some butter. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Will definitely stay again! read more

I have stayed at this Hyatt many times over! I am always greeted with smiling faces and warm welcomes from every single staff! Hands down the best hotel experience! The hallways, rooms, and common areas are always clean and smelling fresh. Love that they are pet friendly and my frenchies love to pass by the front desk too! If you do have pups, there is plenty of outdoor space to go on walks and grassy areas for them to sniff around in. On top of the Hyatt being so great, it sits in a great location to the highways, food and shopping locations! I truly couldn't say enough about how much I have enjoyed my stays and meeting all the wonderful staff on the their team! read more

This place was incredible! So clean, loved the big walk-in shower, staff was helpful and friendly every time you walked by front desk. Our first night, we meet Dominique, and she recommended the restaurant (Page's Ocra Grill) where we ate 4x during our stay! Usually, continental breakfasts don't have an omelet bar, but this one did! Served hot food every day and it was really good. Loved the cheese omelets! Will definitely look for a Hyatt House when I travel or come back to this one. read more

Very incompetent staff... I unfortunately had been over booked at the Tru by Hilton, and was sent here (even though I booked three months in advance and was told by Hilton they kicked me out due to a group, which also never showed). Regardless, came here, on the dime of Hilton, and now have been billed three times by Hyatt House. Even though I checked out and the staff affirmed me that Hilton was paying due to their fax, and signed note I handed the staff. Seriously, Hyatt get your act together! Not only did you try billing me again a month later, but you falsely billed me twice. Thank goodness, I'm a finance person (finance undergrad and MBA) and watch my money...how about the Average American?!? Is this a regular practice to commit white collar crime?? How dare you take hard earned money on false pretenses...seriously, get your shit together. This is absurd! Be forewarned about their criminal activity and credibility as a company. Will be reporting this to the BBB...Americans should have good faith when they give their credit card out, to ensure numerous, fraudulent charges don't occur. read more

I went down for a procedure and this hotel was absolutely amazing!!! Close to my doctors office, in walking distance to Walmart, TJMaxx, home goods and Marshalls. But the best part of this hotel is the staff. Absolutely amazing and friendly. We arrived early hoping to get into our room because I had to prepare for my procedure and they let us right in. The room felt like and looked like an apartment, there was outlets everywhere. the bathroom are huge and the beds are so comfortable.. Have to return again for surgery and this is absolutely where I am staying! Give 10 stars if I could!!! read more

ROOMS ARE GREAT, very nice updated rooms. King bed was super comfy. We had a room with a mini fridge and it could barely fit anything, but was still better than nothing. Great location only like 12 minutes from Sullivan's island and close to many grocery stores. Management needs to address two main things: 1) breakfast and 2) carts. Breakfast: excellent taste, but absolutely don't have enough people or food to support the crowd. By 9:15 this morning (Sunday) they literally had run out of everything except omelettes. The day before it was the same story. There is only one man cooking the omelettes and he isn't in the best mood. Carts: this hotel has ONLY 2 carts- a bit of a big problem for check in's and outs. We probably will come back, but would just love for them to make some adjustments. read more

I come to the Charleston area monthly for work and I've been picking a new hotel each time. This time, I've landed at the Hyatt House and will definitely be making this my home away from home. It's a brand new property that feels clean, modern and cozy. The staff has been nothing but genuinely friendly, welcoming, accommodating and social. The rooms are comfy and well equipped. The beds are insanely comfortable. It's quiet and blackout curtains make it so I can sleep all day, if I end up working at night. Laundry. Gym. Pool. Equipped kitchens. Breakfast included (made to order omelettes!) with a bar and restaurant onsite. There's plenty of space in the lobby and outside for sitting and working or socializing (even a fire pit if you choose). Parking is ample. The location is seconds from groceries, restaurants, and stores-- and 15 minutes from downtown. This is just ideal for anyone traveling, and I highly recommend it. read more

Worst place I have ever had the displeasure of staying. Started off with a strange dog jumping all over me with my two little ones. Staff ignore as the dog ran into the building. We had to stay her for a few day because of work(thanks guys!) and from when i pulled up i was impressed with the outside and entering the cool lobby(yes great a/c ). check in was very simple with a great staff and as you walk in the lobby you see plenty of space if you choose stay in the lobby for just relaxing and having a drink or just sitting in a corner and using the strong wi-fi. The rooms are spacious and great cause when you check into a brand new hotel that new smell is their for those who know what i'm talking about. Let's talk about the bed which was comfortable and firm(new bed,yeah!) with plenty of comfortable pillows. The bathroom was great with great water pressure and a large see through shower door with all the little hair,body lotions. Breakfast was good they also cook omelettes to order if you choose not to have the breakfast on the buffet tables. A great place with a pretty good fitness room and smoking outside with being a pet friendly hotel also. Rates of course vary depending on season and any discounts you can find online. read more

Highly recommend this hotel for families and especially if you have a pet. The hotel is clean, new, has really nice customer service and their breakfast is amazing. They have complementary omelets in the morning as well as a full breakfast buffet. It can get crowded between 8:30-9:30. Screwed up my reservation, and it became my problem to resolve. Called me late at night after bed to have me come down and help them fix my reservation. Had constant problems with room cards. Parking was impossible. No parking reserved for hotel guests. Parking deck elevator broken for weeks. Disabled relative was not accommodated. Expensive room doesn't include breakfast. Although no one ever ate there. Overpriced and unprofessional run by clueless kids. read more
